Lumene Vitamin C+ Bright Skin Radiance Nectar Review and Lumene Vitamin C+ Pure Radiance 24 Hour Lotion Review

Lumene skin care always garners some of my attention because hey, you purchase this shiz at your local drugstore for affordable prices and get the benefits of a posher brand of skin care for a considerably less than counter brands.

Loves that right?

I have a love affair with the Lumene Vitamin C+ Energy Cocktail so recently on a foray through CVS I came across the new Lumene Vitamin C+ Bright Skin Radiance Nectar which promises to whiten and brighten up my skin. Aw hells to the yes. You know I’m all about brighter, whiter skin. They also have a new Lumene Vitamin C+ Pure Radiance 24 Hour Lotion to go along with the serum. Happy Days!

A serum and moisturizer that contains a healthy dose of Vitamin C+ to make skin brighter and more radiant.

Lumene Vitamin C+ Bright Skin Radiance Nectar pretty much mimics the Energy Cocktail in formula and texture however it isn’t nearly as oily. If you’ve used the Energy Cocktail you’ll love the Nectar. The formula is a citrus scented serum which has a hydrating feel that absorbs easily into skin leaving behind a smoother finish. I like using the serum in the evening as it’s a tad to rich for day wear since it takes a few moments to dry down so it’s best suited to evening wear in my opinion. It sports a bright orange scent that’s very pleasant to my nose. It comes housed in a glass pump jar which easily dispenses product. One pump is all you need to do your entire face as it the formula is quite hydrating. It runs a tad on the oily side but not as oily as the Energy Cocktail however it does absorbs quickly so you aren’t left with a greasy, oily finish.

The Pure Radiance Lotion can be used during the day or evening although it does lack SPF so be aware when using as a daily moisturizer. It sports the same scent as the serum and is a subdued pale orange shade. It leans towards being more of a gel consistency and absorbs into skin in a snap leaving behind a dewy, hydrated finish sans a greasy, oil feel. I love gel moisturizers, they feel so incredible on the skin and don’t give that I can’t breath feeling like some moisturizers.

I’ve been using both as night treatments since I like using Lush Gorgeous in the day. Could be my imagination but a single application makes my skin look quite lively and come the morning my skin looks fresher and considerably less dull and lackluster. I get the same results from the Energy Cocktail or actually almost all Lumene skin care seems to have a knack for making my skin look really alive and fresh!

I’m hoping with continued use that my skin will look brighter and lighter considering the healthy dose of Vitamin C in the mix!

Sensitive types may have to be careful with this as it does have a tiny tingle on my skin and I’m no where near sensitive. Just do a spot test prior to smearing yourself in either the serum or lotion to see how your skin reacts.

I love the serum but the 1 oz size seems to go SO fast. It feels like I can get less than a month out of a single bottle. A bigger size would be fabulous.

The serum feels a tad sticky and tacky at first application but quickly dries down.

  • Those obsessed with brighter skin!
  • Anyone who has hyper pigmentation (this might lighten up darker areas).
  • Anyone looking for affordable yet posh skincare!
  • Anyone looking for a serum and lotion duo that could potentially brighten up and lighten skin!

  • Sensitive types.

These are rather fab budget picks as I think the serum was $21.99 and the lotion was $17.99 (don’t quote me on prices) plus CVS had a BOGO offer so I got one for 50% Off and next week if you indulge you can get $10 in Bonus Bucks after a $20 Lumene purchase. Lumene is constantly on sale at CVS so it is easy enough to save yourself a buck or two.

I liked both very much and I’ll continue to use them nightly. I was testing out Philosophy Miracle Worker as my night cream but it seems to be breaking me out and it’s SUPER rich. So I’m going to set it aside for now and keep using these two items as my skin seems to like both and my skin looks so fresh in the morning. I wish they had more anti-aging properties but for now I’ll settle for brighter, whiter skin.

Available now at your local CVS.

    Hey hon,

I just bought the serum (nectar) and toner from cloudberry line. I’ve tried the cream but it’s way too oily for me. Do u think it’s ok to use the nectar alone without any cream or lotion ?? Thanks!!

  • Erica

Just bought this serum the other day after a lot of skeptical review reading, so far I really like it. But since I’m pretty frugal it actually seems expensive to me for being only 1 fl. Oz. D^: Anywho, been checking out this blog for past couple years, and I have to say, it’s well organized.

hey erica typically cvs always has it on sale though so that helps 😀 thanks so much ;-D glad you enjoy Musings!

Serum feels rich during application but then proceeds to suck every drop of moisture from my skin- so drying!!!

I just started using Lumene Vitamin C+ Bright Skin Radiance Nectar a couple of months ago, and suddenly people have been saying what beautiful skin I have. Understand, I am 64 yrs old, and I have sensitive skin! Now I can’t find it anywhere! WalMart and Walgreens don’t have it, in my entire state, now. CVS shows it online, but then says it no longer has it! Did they quit making it??
