MAC Wonder Woman Collection: Musings of the Day: What MAC Collection would you create?

Although the Lasso of Truth was supposed to make you TELL the truth, hence it being called Lasso of Truth, I’m thinking that MAC plans to wrap it around us and make us SPEND money. Forget telling the truth, MAC’s version will wrap around your sorry makeup loving ass and make you buy more makeup.

MAC Wonder Woman Collection?

Yes, please.

MAC will soon release a MAC Wonder Woman Collection but until that time you can Muse with me!

What sort of MAC Collection would you create? Who would you collaborate with to create it?

Something geeky perhaps? A comic book of some sort? A favorite cartoon character?

Jump!

Obviously, as you may have guessed, I’d like to see a Doctor Who themed collection.

Yes, we need Doctor Who in our makeup.

Some sort of Tardis blue eyeshadow, perhaps a warm shade of khaki to match the 10th’s trench, maybe some rusty metallic shades to represent the Daleks.

MAC

Yeah, MAC needs to get on this shiz.

What sort of collection would you create?

Share it!

Well, as unrealistic as it is, I’d want a Lord of the Rings collection. Seeing as whenever TNT does their LOTR weekends I create looks based on my interpretation of the characters (I most recently did Legolas using UD’s Sidecar and KVD’s Orbi and Dimebag…so gorgeous), I already have tons of ideas. I don’t know how many people would buy it…but I think it could potentially be a very diverse collection, because you have so many different elements (light, earthy or ethereal colors for elves–dark, metallic colors for dwarves, the possibilites are endless). I know I’d snatch up everything, but that’s just me ;) The product names would be fun too…like a really dark red lip called “Mount Doom” or a plumy-black liner called “Mordor…” LOL I can dream.

OMG YES Marina! I’d love that!!!!!!! ha must see it, got a pic!? some sort of dark smoky look for orcs with blood red and black!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D!!!!!!! I’m excited :-D Well Clarins already has a Mordor Eyeliner :-D FREAKING ace! Wicked :D

I’ll recreate it later and take a pic :) I had no idea there was a Mordor eyeliner…coincidence (or not?) that I am trying to acquire more liners before school starts? Do they sell Clarins at Sephora? Because I am going there in roughly two weeks for school shopping. I’m trying to get my “senior style” all mapped out…but I know I want some radtastic liners (have my eye on UD’s Radium and Minx…any opinion on those?).

yay :-D can’t wait marina! Total coincidence in my opinion as I doubt Clarins is geeky enough to appreciate Mordor eyeliner lol! :-D Nope sadly not the makeup at sephora only the skincare :-D It’s part of Summer 2010: http://www.musingsofamuse.com/2010/03/clarins-summer-collection-2010-clarins-instant-light-sun-collection.html UD makes great ones but if you really want something unique try the MUFE liners, wide selection of shades. Radium and Minx are both nice, but Mildew is rockin’ in my humblest for Fall paired up with some sort of brown shadow :D

The pics didn’t turn out good at all XD It was either too light or waaaay yoo dark :( I’ll try and get my hands on it one day…somehow! I have Mildew, actually, and I adore it! I love this post, btw. Everyone’s showing their geeky side and I love it!!!
As an afterthought, I’d like Betsey Johnson also as she’s my hero.

          • 8/2/10 16:18 the Muse:

marina looking forward to it. Mildew is a fav of mine :-D Oh yes!!!!!! Or tarina tarantino! Pink, blinging, fabulous!

          • 8/2/10 16:19 the Muse:

marina dunno if you can find it but the BoHo palette from last year from Isadora is so fab for Fall 2010 back to school imho! It was a 2009 release but the colors just scream Fall and aren’t out of style.

OMG! If Urban Decay did a Wicked collection I would have to buy it all! Imagine how awesome a Defying Gravity book of shadows would be! And they would have to put in some new shades to fit in with Wicked! Plenty of greens, pinks and smokey purples!

I probably would have done a Farscape collection. Because of it being sci-fi/fantasy and having such a variety of colors and races it would be awesome.

Cute fact: Fyrinnae has a color named Delvian after a race in Farscape.
Cute fact 2: I did a Commandant Grayza makeup look/costume look for a contest and won.

Oh, man. I’ve already mapped this all out in my head. I really like the geeky direction MAC is taking with the Wonder Woman collection. So, to continue on with that, I’d suggest a MAC/Nintendo collaboration.
Now, here’s how I’d do it. I would make the collection absurdly huge and then I’d split it up into four parts, one for each game franchise (like they’re doing with the characters for Venomous Villains).

First would be the Mario franchise, which would be entirely made up of super bright colors. Mostly primary and secondary colors.
Next would be the Kirby franchise. This would be somewhat bright, but mostly lighter and pastel colors (to keep with the colors of the new game, Epic Yarn).
Third would be Legend of Zelda. Here is where they could fit in some darker and more complex colors. But it shouldn’t be too dark or muddy considering the color palette for Skyward Sword.
And last would be Donkey Kong. This is where they could bring in some neutrals and more muted colors so that theres something for everyone. Also, they would HAVE to repromote Going Bananas eyeshadow with this. Seriously.

    Plus, imagine the packaging! Adorable.
    *sigh*
    A girl can dream.

I seriously spent some hours thinking about this while I ran my errands today, and I still can’t narrow it down to just one!

I would love to see a collection based on the coral reefs. The color possibilities and names would be endless. The big item (like marine life) could be a beauty powder compact with some type of extravagant fish and coral as the design.

The second one I thought of was a space-themed collection. I’m not sure if they already did this, though.. I’ve been into MAC for some time but I’ve only been MAC “obsessed” for about a year.

I’d also love any collection where they put out funky looking brushes in different colors.. the black ones are sleek and professional, sure, but I’d love a purple set or green. :)

I like this idea alot casey, something mermaid-ish would be cool too although its been slightly done with MAC’s Summer Collection back in ’08 or so. But something concentrating on the oceans, coral reef, etc..very cool idea.

They def have released a green set before….and prob purple to. Look out for the holidays when the brushes get revamped in gift sets wink!

I told you this already, but I’d *love* to see more comic book collections and so would the Mr. He wants them to make a Joker lipstick so he can tell all his friends about it and use it for Halloween. I want to see a Superman collection and an Aquaman collection–a lot of creams in that one with a lot of blues.

If I have to come up with something completely different though…I wouldn’t mind seeing a collection based off of fruits: lemon colored e/s, cranberry blush, blueberry lip gloss…Star fruit anything…. The possibilities are ENDLESS and the packaging could be so much fun!

Or a collection based on classic rockers: Elvis to Nirvana. It would be AWESOME and separated into parts by decade!

What about a Candy line? I know they used a lot of candy in the promo shots of Sugar Sweet–and names that were sweet–but I always see that as being associated with cupcakes. I’m talking about classic candy. Hot red for Candy Canes, crazy brights for Sour Patch kids…. Twizzler red lippies….

          I meant:

I tend to have a bend to the darker side of things. Bright colors come in because they’re unconventional.
