Avon Healthy Makeup Eyeshadow Review and Swatches

Avon Healthy Makeup Eyeshadow are currently $4.99 each so I hauled a few out of morbid curiosity to see if I liked them. Some of the shades looked really nice in the online swatches on Avon’s site plus I’ve discovered some hidden love for cream shadows the past year or two.

If you’re on a budget you might want to check these out, they are pretty nice.

A creamy shadow that helps minimize the appearance of fine lines with a hydrating formula rich in Avon’s Triple Vitamin & Antioxidant Complex, which is a healthy blend of Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as botanical extracts such as Pomegranate.

These are available in eight shades so you have a pretty nice range of color to choose from that includes both neutral shades such as rose and brown and more vibrant ones like teal and green.

The formula itself is quite nice as it blends with ease, has a creamy, whipped texture, and applies easily with little fuss. They blend fairly easily and build up just as simply since the formula remains dewy to the touch and allows for movement on the eye prior to fully setting. I experienced no problems with creasing or fading and color remained true all day. It deserves to be mentioned I prepped prior with Urban Decay Primer Potion of course.

The colors I purchased were Tiger’s Eye (Bronze-y Golden Brown), Rose Satin (Coral-ish Rose), and Violet Dusk (Soft Lilac). I hated Violet Dusk as the color is simply too mature and unflattering for my eyes and Rose Satin was a tad uneventful as well. Rose Satin is misleading since it looks gorgeous in the tube but applied it comes across a tad sheer even built up and just makes my eyes a bit tired looking.

However, Tiger’s Eye was a real joy. It’s very flattering on my brown eyes and works ideal as a color wash with a cat eye since it’s not an overly done color and gives just the right amount of golden brown on lids. Quite lovely and perfect for Fall.

Packaging is ideal as these are housed in small lipgloss style tubes with a sponge tip applicator. They are best applied by painting on the color all over lid with the sponge tip applicator and blending onto your eye with a finger.

Colors are a toss up it appears. Some are fabulous, some not so much. I only tried 3 of the 8 mind you but out of the 3 only 1 was a win for me sadly so I suspect shades are kinda a give or take.

  • Anyone who likes creamy shadows that blend easily and having a hydrating, soft formula.
  • Anyone who wants a great Fall eye look (Tiger’s Eye=PERFECT Fall shade!).

  • Anyone looking for a wide range of color (this has a nice line up but some of the shades are a bit of a miss).

If you can get free shipping or you’re already plotting an online Avon order I’d toss one or two shades in your cart however I wouldn’t pay the cost of these plus shipping nor would I pay the full price of $8 so grabbing one now when they are on sale at $4.99 is the best idea in my opinion.

I haven’t tried the other shades but if you prefer natural, nude shades of color, Tiger’s Eye is a winner in my humblest opinion, it’s very flattering on brown eyes.

Tiger’s Eye does look good on you. Sucks that the quality for application is so hit or miss.

      • Phyrra

Ooops! I misunderstood. The other two shades you swatched look almost like they ended up matte on the skin, and if they’re sheer and matte they would definitely be sucky colors in my book!

        • the Muse

no worries Court ;-D they are kinda matte yes, no shimmer sadly. Tiger’s Eye applied quite pigmented however rose satin is a tad more subtle ;-D Violet has a good pop of color but I didn’t like the shade meh!

now i’m kind of embarrassed to admit this but i’m really interested in violet dusk! i think it’s so pretty at least on your hand and in the tube!
