E.L.F. Studio 32 Piece Eyeshadow Palette Limited Edition and E.L.F. Studio 100 Piece Eyeshadow Palette Limited Edition

NYX recently went the big palette path. If you head on over to NYX you’ll come across any number of palettes that feature 100’s of eyeshadow packed into one small space.

The latest on the big palette band wagon?

E.L.F.!

E.L.F. Studio 32 Piece Eyeshadow Palette and E.L.F. Studio 100 Piece Eyeshadow Palette have launched on the E.L.F. website today.

Let’s take a look.

Out of curiosity of course….

I imagine these might appeal to budget friendly types or fans of E.L.F. Makeup and Cosmetics. I’m not sure myself but I could be convinced to see what the buzz might be about.

Supposedly they are available for a limited time.

This guy contains a mirror, one dual sided sponge applicator, and 32 eyeshadows in various shades.

This one contains a mirror, two dual sided sponge applicators, and 100 eyeshadows.

Mmm promo pictures don’t look too promising and it does have that cheaper makeup air but I’m trying not to judge this book by it’s cover considering E.L.F. sometimes creeps up and releases some uber awesome makeup.

Might that be the case with these new palettes?

Dunno, but count me curious.

Available from www.eyeslipsface.com

Sound off…Will you haul them?

I don’t know if I’m the only one in this boat, but disregarding the gazillions of eyeshadows we own, palettes of this size just don’t appeal to me….in my mind I’m thinking “What the ‘eck am I gonna do with all that eyeshadow? I’ll never finish it”.

Then I promptly go out and buy the UD BOSIII.
Ironic isn’t it? Alanis missed this one.

    • the Muse

      lol nunu I can relate.

I told myself I did not need BOSIII. It’s absurd considering I own practically all the singles but nope I purchased it anyway. It’s a disease I tell ya, a dirty disease!

  • Appu

This one does not look very appealing to me.I am sure it’s gonna be a big miss.I liked the ELF beauty book for $5.Got it fot my teenage cousin n she was happy as hell!

    • the Muse

I’m pretty sure you’re right appu lol but I am still terribly curious. did you swatch play with the beauty book at all? curious minds!

      • Appu

No, I din swatch it 🙁 will get hold of it someday! But then, there was also a beauty e/s book which was fantastic…

  • Marina

These aren’t super appealing to me, as I’m spoiled now and forever by my UD shadows…but it’s something I’d consider getting for a friend’s birthday. I’ve heard E.L.F.’s shadows aren’t too bad, though I’ve never tried them myself.
I have a question, actually…How long with the Stila travel palettes be sold? I’m thinking of buying a couple to give to my friends for Christmas gifts since so far there is at least one that fits each girl’s interests and style. Will they be around until December, for should I snag them now? And do you think they’ll be around for the Sephora FF sale? Thanks!

    • the Muse

I haven’t really dabbled much in the shadows aside from a mineral once marina and they are kinda meh, meh. So I’m not sure this really appeals to me either ;-D Well, looks like the USA and Paris are already sold out, unless they restocked, on their site. However, they are still online at Sephora. I guess until stock is depleted. I thought maybe until Spring but if it’s sold out already, I’m hoping, they restock it. Best indulge now why the going is good hun!

Get them now with the 20% off at Stila FF, $8 bucks each ;-D plus free shipping at $50 mark 😀

This would be great for teenagers or that friend you want to get into makeup. ELF quality isn’t too horrible (love the HD powder), so I can’t imagine this would be utterly horrible. But for it’s not for the junkie.

    • the Muse

I agree comrade ;-D and the studio line is normally the better part of ELF imho so this has hope! but yes not for someone who already owns aheap of makeup!

  • neonpinksapphire

i have 3 of the beauty books and quality wise they are pretty good! Only a couple colors out of the 3 I have that are unique, but over all a good value. Elf cosmetics are pretty impressive for the price. I do not buy coastal scents pallets or BH because they just buy from hong kong and but their names on them and up the price. I would be interested in this $5, but the 100 color one is just sooooo many colors lol and once a person has a larger palette (which I do) I do not see the need for multiple lol.

    • the Muse

neon I was thinking the five buck one sounded good too but not so much the 100 color one…curious minds ;-D!

  • breyerchic04

I can’t imagine they’re worse than the imported Hong Kong 88 palletes. Not something I need at all, I just use mineral eyeshadow most of the time (with a minor UD and Stila habit forming).

  • Hillary

I bought one of the Beauty Books at my local Target out of sheer curiosity and I thought it was meh. I feel like these kits would probably illicit the same reaction from me. While E.L.F. pulls off a stellar product every once in a while, I’ve noticed that their star products aren’t usually the kind of things that require a lot of pigmentation (i.e. the Studio brushes, the HD finishing powder, etc.). I tend to stay away from their eyeshadows, blushes and bronzers because of the lack of pigmentation.

    • the Muse

Hillary so far my experience with ELF has been with the studio line which I like but the wider range of products are just so so. 😛

  • electronicfly

Would I? Already have…. both 😛 I am a sucker for ELF stuff, coz they are so cheap!

  • Lenna

    Kinda want the 100 shadow one…but I know I would never use all that shadow! Already have a bunch of ELF eyeshadow already too, which I like, but I don’t need more right now. ^o^;;

  • Marilyn @ Lipgloss and Spandex

I want to believe this palette is awesome, because some of their individual shadows are good, but the last ELF megapalette I had was terrible. 🙁

  • ERT

I just got mine today and it is really nice! At least from appearances! I haven’t dabbled yet, but I’m pretty impressed with the number of matte and shimmery colors. I did lose one color during the shipping process, but I have 99 more to play with. I plan to keep this one for home–I wear makeup everyday–and I ordered the 32 palette for travel (can’t leave home without it!). I managed to snag the 100 for $10 so I figured it was worth a try!

  • Stavroula Plag

Yeah usually these huge palettes aren’t good quality, but we’ll see! I can’t wait for your swatches! 🙂

  • beautyjunkie520

When I first saw the 100-piece eyeshadow palette on the ELF website, I knew I really wanted to try it. Being limited edition and only $10 (at the time), I knew I wanted to get it fairly soon. So I ordered it a little over a week ago and am very excited to get my order. What appealed to me most about this palette was the huge number of shadows available and the fact that I could experiment with a lot of different shades without spending very much money. I usually stick with neutral brown eyeshadows so buying this palette and getting to experiment with different shades will be a bit of a beauty stretch for me. But at only $10 for 100 eyeshadows, I wouldn’t have spent too much money.

  • ERT

So, I had a chance to play with my palette and I really like it! Some colors are better than others, but that’s to be expected considering the size. There are a lot of really pigmented colors and then some that are “meh.” Some of the “meh” colors would require a wet application or packing on the color.

I recommend starting with the 32 palette if you’re really curious because you probably won’t use all 100 colors unless you’re going to do a ton of different looks. For me, I thought, “what the heck,” it was ten bucks and I have to admit it is fun to explore the different shades. There are some gorgeous pinks, blues, greens and the obligatory neutral shades. There are a lot of “smokey eye” looks waiting to happen here. There is one really lovely amber color that I used with one of the browns for a nice fall look. Again, I like that there are a number of matte and shimmer colors to choose from.

One thing I will warn you about is that the construction of the case is not the sturdiest. One of the hinges broke. It still closes fine, but I have to be careful when I open it.

I say for the price, it is still decent quality and if you have a good primer you can really make these colors pop! Has anyone here tried the coastal scents 88 palettes? What are those like? I was thinking that if I ever use up enough of the elf 100 I might like to try that one next…

    • the Muse

hi ert thanks for the mini review ;-D It sounds interesting enough. I didn’t bother with the 100 tbh b/c I have too much but I did indulge in the 32 for the heck of it ;-D can’t wait to try it soon!

I haven’t tried to CS 88, but I’m sure a ton of readers have and will comment 😀

Recently took a look on the E.L.F. website.. the LE Studio 83 Piece Essential Makeup Collection palette looks like a copy of last years Blockbuster palette from Sephora.
Waay cheaper than Sephora and I’m betting the quality is on par.
