A gorgeous blush from Givenchy!
Givenchy was a major player in my makeup stash for a long time but in recent years in somehow took a backseat. Needless to say I always get excited with each collection released and I do explore but I’m not as inclined to dive in and purchase it all as I once was.
I recently hauled the new Givenchy Le Prisme Blush Blooming from Sephora on a whim so I thought I’d share a few pics and a babble or two with you about it.
I mentioned this in a post a while ago but it deserves to be said again that Givenchy has really stepped up its game in terms of packaging. The new packaging is slimmer, friendlier, and just prettier in my opinion. Brushes are now housed in a stealthy pull out drawer, the packaging has a slicker finish and feels less box like, plus it just has a more elegant touch. Not that it wasn’t gorgeous before but for some reason it looks much more interesting even though alot hasn’t changed.
Givenchy Le Prisme Blush Blooming seemed special enough for me to warrant the $48.50 purchase, actually, discussing it now, that too has changed. Prices have dropped down around $6 or so on products which doesn’t make Givenchy any more affordable but feels a little lighter on a collector’s wallet.
Of course, Givenchy Le Prisme Blush Blooming is one of those purchases you make because you’re a collector but not necessarily because you want a colored blush that looks great. It’s the packaging and the design of the blush that you’re investing in here. The blush itself looks like a beautiful watercolor painting with splashes of pink, peach, and coral. For the most part its a matte finish and has a slightly chalky texture on swatch but applies smooth and silky on cheeks with a nice subtle touch of color that classifies it as elegant and never overly done.
As I said it’s not something you’re going to invest in simply because you need a new blush, it’s more a collector’s piece and will appeal to those who love the brand. Even though I like the blush I can even easily admit it is a little too highly priced to justify for such a simpler blush in terms of color, packaging, and presentation as Givenchy LE’s are normally a tad more fancier and prettier. This is very pretty don’t get me wrong but not as special to warrant its near $50 price tag.
- Those who want a subtle, elegant dash of colors on cheeks!
- High end makeup users!
- Makeup collectors!
- Anyone not interested in high end price tags.
The formula, packaging, and presentation of the blush is sheer perfection and I’m very happy to add this to my Givenchy stash however I realize the price definitely won’t appeal to everyone. If you’re a fond fan it’s probably worth the haul since it’s one of the few Givenchy products that I feel compelled to not only say “hey, look, pretty blush” but also use it on my face without being scared of ruining the design and/or product.
Likey!
