Stila Long Wear Liquid Lip Color Review and Swatches

Feels like liquid lipstick is trending at the moment. A few weeks ago I introduced you to Korres Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick and today I have Stila Long Wear Liquid Lip Color to show you.

Jump!

Stila Long Wear Liquid Lip Color is a weightless liquid lip color with incredible long wear available in six shades.

Props to a formula that literally lasts and lasts and lasts. Stila Long Wear Liquid Lip Color takes the meaning of long wear to a whole new level. Once this formula sets you’ll be pretty much sporting your lip color all day even wearing it through a meal and drinks.

It sports a similar formula as Korres version with a creamy thin almost watery texture with a TON of pigmentation. If you really like louder, bolder shades of lipstick these are your girl as the pigmentation is crazy rich on these.

I tried two shades which were Caprice (hot pink) and Coral (nude coral). Caprice runs towards being a tad garish and can’t be pulled off by everyone due to its louder shade of fuchsia but decked out with a winged eye look you might very well be able to rock this hard. Coral is considerably subdued but still packs a mighty punch as well!

Although the formula does it’s best to remain hydrating, it does dry lips out slightly around the 4th hour of my wear time. My lips thankfully didn’t look dry or flaky but I felt like I was licking them constantly to deliver a little moisture to the area as they felt stiff due to the lip color. I recommend using some sort of balm under these plus prepping and priming prior to wearing as you aren’t going to want to apply on dry lips, chapped, or flaky ones.

Colors are pretty loud and I felt like I couldn’t pull them off sadly. If you’re able to pull off bolder lips shades, you’ll adore these.

More mature lips may need some sort of lip primer prior to application as these do remain wet for a few minutes prior to setting. So you definitely need to be aware as feathering and bleeding may occur during the wait time.

  • Anyone who loves bold, popping shades of color!
  • Anyone who wants an extremely long wearing lip color.

  • Mature lips with fine lines should be aware during application as feathering and bleeding may occur.
  • Anyone who can’t sport bolder shades of color may wish to skip (these are mega pigmented and quite loud and vibrant!).

I’m sadly not a fond fan of liquid lip color as it just doesn’t quite look right on my lips but I will say that Stila Long Wear Liquid Lip Color is probably one I’d go with if I was a fan. The color lasts crazy long which is always a plus when you’re not up for touch ups. Plus the shades are quite gorgeous. Those with darker skin tones will rock these hard as the shades will compliment darker skin tones beautifully well.

If you’re wanting to take on the world of Liquid Lip Color, Stila definitely has you covered for Fall 2010.

Anyone try these?

I bought the coral one and I looked like a corpse with dead, crispy lips ! It was exchanged for another product !

wow ruth LOL 😀 coral and caprice def didn’t do me any favors either sadly 🙁 Wish the colors were softer, I’d get on board better.

I have Caprice and I love it. More people can wear bright colors. They are just scared but they look pretty.

I have one in “Fiery”, I’m always looking for pin-up red lip color, and it was a perfect fit. The colour is AMAZING, consistancy is creamy, and it wears uber nice. (it doesn’t hurt that it smells like a vanilla steamer, either :D) My only complain is that given the consistancy of the product, the brush may be too big (I always have to use a traditional lip brush to avoid clown-lips).
