Tarte Natural Lip Stain and Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain Review and Swatches
Check it.
Not tall enough, tie is a LITTLE too tight, but the suit, hair, chucks (they need a little dirt and grime but they’ll do none the less), and gestures are cosplay at its best.
Loves it?
Thanks to my little DD for sending this sweet piece along after her visit at Dragon Con last week! Personally she should have gotten me a big wet kiss from Wil Wheaton but I’ll settle for pics of good cosplay hehe!
Sigh, try not to miss the 10th too hard after that little babble.
Anyway…………….
Check it out.
I finally got a chance to try out the Tarte Natural Lip Stain plus the Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain. OMG how did I live without it?
Jump!
Tarte Natural Lip Stain is basically Tarte Cheek Stain in a lip stain format free of Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrance and Dyes, and made up of good for you ingredients!
These are such a great success with me. If you’re a fond fan of Tarte’s cult favorite cheek stain these should appeal in a major way as the formula is quite similar. Best part? They now come in a matte and glossy finish.
They are basic chubby pencil design that are easy to travel and tote around and perfect for touch ups in my opinion as they give just the right flush to lips without having to worry about both gloss and lipstick.
Tarte Natural Lip Stain has the same gel-like design as the Tarte Cheek Stain but doesn’t have as soft a feel. The product feels more dense and doesn’t squish or melt as easily as the cheek stain which is great as they last way longer in this format where as I could easily work through a cheek stain within a few months. They have a subtle peppermint taste which is quite pleasant as well.
How do they work?
According to Tarte they increase moisture in your lips and retain it. Both the matte and glossy finishes do indeed keep lips feeling hydrated and moist as you wear. The matte are particularly impressive in this aspect as they wear quite well without making lips feel dry as matte is legendary for this.
I am partial to the glossy finish myself as it gives lips just the right amount of natural color with a nice shiny finish that isn’t overly done but just moist looking. If you want to multitask you can easily double up and use on cheeks as well as lips for a super fresh, natural look.
I tried the shade Moody in the regular Natural Lip Stain formula and it gives lips and cheeks a just bitten deeper berry look. Quite nice. The matte versions I tried were Fiery (true red) and Exposed (nude).
They wear pretty long and once gone they leave behind a bit of stain on lips which is always nice as you aren’t left to having to retouch up constantly.
Nothing I don’t like about these. Kinda partial to toting around Moody in my purse at the moment as its become HG (holy grail) for quickie touch ups when I’m not wanting to haul our an entire parade of products for my lips!
- Anyone who likes a more natural bitten look for lips!
- Anyone who desires a more natural formula of makeup with a green friendly formula.
- Anyone who wants to multitask with their products (use it on your cheeks as well as your lips!)
- Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain needs proper prepping and priming to look its best so if your lips are dry or flaky definitely gently exfoliate prior to use!
If you’re looking for a more natural tint for lips I’d head out and grab some of these as I really enjoyed the shiny finish. Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip is actually great for a more elegant look as well. I enjoyed these and I’m pretty partial to the color Moody at the moment.
