Bare Escentuals Holiday Collection 2010: Bare Escentuals Beyond Gorgeous Set and Bare Escentuals Body Lingerie

I do so always look forward to BE Holiday although I will say the Holiday Collections, Sets, and Kits have changed considerably since I first started collecting the brand. Things have gotten smaller, prices have gone up, and the collections aren’t nearly as nice as they used to be but it doesn’t stop me from taking time out to explore the offerings and see what appeals.

A few bits and bobs have popped up from the Bare Escentuals Holiday Collection 2010.

Jump!

Sephora and the BE website have been updating with these new items but I admit I’m kinda antsy to see what the QVC and Nordstrom Exclusives as normally those are some of the better offerings during the Holiday season.

Let’s have a look at these for now.

BE is legendary for releasing a body and face powder every year packaged together with a large kabuki brush. We’ve had various options over the years that have included gold, rose, and even jade shades however this year it looks like they stepped up the game and replace these powders with the new Body Lingerie which is quite appealing. These powder atomizers are quickly becoming a popular item and Guerlain isn’t the only kid on the block now with this style of makeup available.

The gift sets looks quite nice but I’m not quite sure if I need it or not yet. I’m debating.

I will say that you can start shopping now at bareescentuals.com and enjoy 20% off your total order using promo code GLAMOUR.

What do you think of BE Holiday so far?

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Thanks for being honest about BE’s holiday kits. I’m a bit sicked by the BE dedicated blogs who don’t ever say anything negative or talk about how things have changed. I did pick up the Beyond Gorgeous and it’s in my top 5 kits of all time (based on what my DH actually compliments me on lol) I can’t wait for the QVC offering, Nordstrom ones have always been a disappointment (too many repeated products)

Aw no problem Irene. I love BE but sadly things have changed over the years. top 5? really? I wasn’t sure about it tbh maybe I need it based on your word ;-D! I just think BE was a little more inventive a few years ago plus the sizes were considerably more generous and the prices were better 😉 I can’t wait for QVC either, it’s normally a great range of product for alot less than Sephora and such. Mmmm a few years ago Nordies wasn’t too bad but alot of rehash yes. The company has changed a fair bit some for the good, some not so good 🙂

Hmm, I honestly wish I could pick and choose from the gift sets to create my own set! I want the pink face brush and mascara but I want it in the shimmer and shine set.

I wonder if the gold dust compact is refillable…BE has some pretty stuff from time to time, but my skin isn’t too fond of it anymore sadly 🙁 The Lingere one looks cool, and I’m a sucker for vanilla. I may need to give BE a try again. Oh Musey, did you see the new Paul & Joe collection with the adorable rose gloss??

  • Colleen

I think I’ll have to get the Shimmer and Shine set! It looks like great colors and I love the packaging. I have so much BE stuff from a kick a few years ago–I don’t see how I can finish any of it. I’ll wait for the QVC TSV that they always have in Nov. or so before I get it, though.

    • the Muse

Colleen it looks lovely ;-D Mmmm can’t wait for the QVC TSV. I also have a post live shortly with the other Holiday info for BE yay!

I weakly promised myself not to get any more BE no matter how tempted by the great “value” if they have included previously released items repackaged into sets. They are notorious for this, so that most collectors end up with duplicates of many products. I’ve been pretty good in only buying sets that contained NEW shades that I didn’t have. This Sephora Holiday kit looks cute, but Here is a situation where I have one of these lipglosses (Sprinkles), the blush (Pink Petal), and the Clear Radiance already from previous kits. One of the high-shine eyeshadows (the Gold one) is also “old” from the recent Beauty Insider kit . So, it doesn’t end up being such a great value, unless the brushes are SO FABU. I am so frustrated that the new Mini Buxom kit that is coming out also includes one Buxom I already have, and only three new ones. Why? Why not four new shades like in the past? I am tempted to bend my rule to get the three new shades……which is what they’re banking on people doing, I’m sure. 😉 Take care.

    • the Muse

oh nina I hadn’t noticed that! but I do see kits that are sometimes the same exclusive to qvc and sephora and nordstrom that have the similar products grr 😛 It happens alot with MAC as well, quite frustrating, UD too. They’ll learn one day ;-D

Miss Muse, thank you for posting this. The only kit or Holiday offering so far (I know there’s more to be released) I want is the Shimmer & Shine kit from Sephora. I think it’s a far better deal than the Beyond Gorgeous kit because it appears you get more items & those items appear to be something I would wear & use every day. And it also looks more shiny, so I’m sold. Is there anything that you want??
