Bath and Body Works Liplicious Cupcakes Lipgloss Review, Swatches, Photos

I wish I had a will and a way to admit to myself that I already have PLENTY of lipgloss to get through and I really don’t need more. But sadly, it never works out. I convinced myself recently I would not indulge in the Bath and Body Works Liplicious Cupcakes Lipgloss.

Yes, they were cute. Yes, they looked tasty. Yes, they weren’t too badly priced.

But no…NO!…no! I did not need them. Hell, even I’m honest with myself I’ll go so far as to say I haven’t even gotten half way through a single tube of last year’s Liplicious Glosses so why in the world do I need more?

Sometimes there’s simply no rhyme or reason to a makeup junkie’s life, you just have to roll with it.

Jump!

Lipglosses in delicious, decadent cupcake flavors in a swirl design!

I couldn’t resist these for very long and I’m entirely upset with myself for letting them get the best of me but lord knows I’m quite happy, delighted, and pleased with myself for indulging.

Bath and Body Works really does something special with the Liplicious Collection and it seems to get better and better as time goes by. These Cupcake flavors are simply outstanding and the swirl design and colors are simply gorgeous.

I got four out of the eight or so that are available and yes, it was honestly difficult settling on just the four.

Each tube is a shimmering swirl design which houses a darker base color and a shimmering crystal or gold gloss. The glosses are opaque for the most part with a pretty shimmery finish however some shades, such as Red Velvet come across their true color and have a nicer color pay off.

Part of the novelty of the glosses is, of course, their gorgeous flavors and scents. These are the type of glosses you’ll have a hard time keeping on, not because of their formula but because they are so damn tasty you’ll want to lick them off.

I got Red Velvet, Pink Chiffon, Coconut Cream, and Lemon Glaze. And yes, they taste exactly, spot on like their namesakes.

Lemon Glaze is the prettiest for the Holidays as it’s a golden swirl of gloss with a cream white golden shimmer. Red Velvet is a red gloss with a shimmering crystal white swirl. Pink Chiffon is a swirl of two pinks, one lighter, one darker, and a crystal shimmer gloss. And Coconut Cream is a swirl of caramel, brown, and a white shimmer gloss.

The formula is thick and tacky but wears comfortably and fairly long although the taste does prevent it from sticking around too long as I readily admit to eating it off half the time, sorry, it’s damn tasty.

Wouldn’t say anything bad about these. Great formula that gloss lovers will adore or those who love kawaii makeup purchases although I’d love a revamp on the price. Glosses are $7 each with a buy 2, get 1 free incentive. I dunno why I’m such miss frugal about this but I’d love a buy more, get more free option as with many of the other items available at BBW. For example I’d love 5 glosses for say $15. I don’t love three glosses for $14 for some reason even though broken down it’s only around $4 bucks and change per a gloss. Weird mentality on my part and the glosses are a budget price but I still feel like three at $14 is somehow expensive and I’m not sure why I feel that way.

  • Anyone who loves cupcakes (tastes like the real thing plus cute as hell cupcake packaging!)
  • Anyone who loves tasty lipglosses!
  • Anyone looking for a thick, shimmering gloss that wears well (these are comfortable and give lips a fairly lovely look!

  • Anyone sensitive to fragrance or flavor in their lip products!

Overall, I’d say haul ’em. Yeah, yeah I know you have a ton of lipglosses like me but hey, you’re a makeup lover and junkie, just get ’em, you know you want ’em!

Great taste, great packaging, great formula, well worth a haul and Muse Approved for purchase.

Available at Bath and Body Works.

I’m not a huge fan of viscous, sticky glosses but I’ll surely buy one anyway if they smell true to their names (with a matching PocketBac in my bag of course)

  • courtney

ohh want these! did they have the sanitizers by chance? And is the gloss sticky like victoria secret and philosophy glosses ? thanks!

    • the Muse

I didn’t get those yet courtney didn’t see ’em in store damn. About the same texture of vs 🙂

  • Lora

gahh, I picked up the cookies and cream flavored one when I went to scoop the halloween pocket-bacs. It tastes so goood!!!!!! squee! Now I NEED the rest of them!

  • Cherrie

Ooh, I want these! Lemon glaze and red velvet are especially calling my name 🙂

  • Kimberly

I know muse it’s awesomely sick isn’t it? Yep I wound up picking these up too, plus the new holiday glittery ones too. Yep over 300 glosses & I still buy more.

  • Kelly

I love these! I have cookies and cream, and red velvet…I have to add a few more of these to my collection. The lemon and chiffon ones look interesting. They are sooo addicting 😛 I wanna get the Sara Happ red velvet scrub for layering!

  • makeup morsels

hahaha I know the feeling well. lip products are definitely my weakness when it comes to makeup. I know I have too many and yet…I keep buying them!

Red velvet sounds really tempting…actually, if I’m being honest with myself, these all sound really tempting! But I must resist!

You picked out some nice colors xD

  • Ally

Hmm I love the packaging and scent and idea, but they look a little too frosty for me 🙁 Except for Pink Chiffon. Plus the Coconut Cram looks like a relaly interesting shade. Hmmm. So many holiday things I want this season!

  • Tanya

I know what you mean on the price, but my issue is size. I’d love these more if they were half the size like last year’s (or was it the year before?) gift set. That’s how I’ve been justifying my makeup purchases lately, mini everything.

    • the Muse

mini everything actually sounds ideal to me tanya considering how much crap I have to get through!

  • T. Fossor

I’m only seeing six cupcake glosses on the Bath and Body Works site. You say there are eight? What are the other two?

    • the Muse

hi fossor I dunno the names of them all hun. strawberry, cookies n creme, pink chiffon, chocolate, lemon, coconut, caramel…can’t recall ’em all sorry.

  • Lenna

I did grab a few of those a couple weeks ago and haven’t used em yet. But there’s a lemon one now? I need that one for sure. ;p When I got mine, there was only the strawberry, chocolate, cocunut and cookies n cream ones out. Or I’m crazy.

  • Lemon

Wow they look gorgeous!! Too bad there isn’t bath and body works in singapore 🙁

  • Bethany

Those looks awesome. I’m a sucker for lemon flavour, so maybe I’ll look into getting one. That said, I’m not generally one for subtle lip gloss. xD

Semi-related: Bring on another Asian brand review. I’ve been missing them lately. ;___; plzthx. xD

    • the Muse

hi bethany ;-D I’m doing most of Japanese Holiday shortly girl! ;-D It’s a coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you for wanting this ;-D I’ve gotten such a bad feedback about doing asian reviews that I stopped for a while.

      • Bethany

Seriously? D: I think Asian products are absolutely fascinating. And I’m a sucker for cute/gorgeous packaging, too. There aren’t enough sites that offer comprehensive reviews of the stuff that’s out there. ;_; I actually found your site because I was looking for Jang Geun Suk’s Etude House poster or something. xD I forget. But yeah, I love that you show people things that would never otherwise know to look for. Keep up the good work~ I’ll keep an eye out. x3

        • the Muse

yea Bethany 🙁 it’s why I stopped for a while. sad sigh. But this year def bringing back ;-D Already got the Kate and Lavshuca Winter Collections plus the Maggie Deco Coffret ;-D wahooooooooooooo! aw thank you SO much ;-D that’s great to hear!
