My first introduction to Lola was when I was a mere babe and my parents had this monster cabinet. Inside the cabinet was an 8-Track Tape Player, yeah, my parents are obviously old and stuff, and a record player. On an old 45 (those are what smaller records were called way back in the time of dinosaurs) was Lola. She was a Show Girl.
No, but seriously, my first introduction to anything Lola was a Show Girl that Barry Manilow sung his little lungs out about. These things stick with you well into adulthood when you’re exposed to them as such a young age so now anytime I hear Lola I simply think of that tune and my foot starts tapping and I have a sudden urge to burst into song.
Now Marc Jacobs Lola has that Show Girl vibe with a big giant flower decking its bottle topper and I can’t help but thing of super fabulous Show Girls (not the washed up variety, promise!).
They’ll come a day or days in your makeup life when you have to admit to yourself that it’s all about the packaging and the presentation, not necessarily the actual makeup. If you’re in denial about this fact, it’s ok, we’ve all been there.
In the case of Victoria’s Secret Midnight Glamour Luminous Highlighting Powder, it’s all about the packaging and presentation and sadly not so much about the actual makeup and lucky enough I’m not in denial about this.
I’m willingly to admit the powder isn’t what caught my eye first nor will it be what holds my attention long after.

The new Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Holiday Collection 2010 has just launched. If you read a bit too many babblings on my site, you probably realize what a love/hate relationship I have with some of the Beauty Rush line but I never tire of seeing new offerings from the line, especially during the Holidays!
Although we discussed and looked at some smaller photos of the new Hard Candy Winter Collection 2010, I thought you’d love to see the official information on the new products that will be available shortly at Walmart or in some cases may already be available at your local stores.
