Sephora Flashy Liner Waterproof Eye Pencil Set Review, Swatches, Photo
Sephora brings together seven of its popular Flashy Liner Eye Pencils in a brand new gift set for $20 ($18 if you’re indulging now with the Friends and Family Event giving you 20% off).
Considering my track record with Sephora Cosmetics this was a hit or miss purchase. I had heard last year from many readers how much they enjoyed the Sephora Flashy Liners but I wasn’t completely sold however offer me 7 of ’em for a decent price and you tempt me easily.
Jump!
A set of seven Sephora Flashy Liner Eye Pencils with a waterproof formula in a gift set package for $20.
Urban Decay Jackpot definitely gets you more product however it is $39 and doesn’t contain THAT much more than Sephora’s Flashy Liner Set at $20 plus the pencils are considerably bigger here, 0.03 compared to 0.02. So if you’re on a little bit of a beauty budget you can easily indulge in Sephora’s set and save yourself near $20 plus not forsake much formula-wise.
Count me impressed.
Everything about the formula is good plus they seem to last longer on the waterline than Urban Decay’s formula. They have a nice creamy base which blends beautifully, smudges in a snap, and applies without tugging or drama plus color pay off is fantastic as well. I sat around yesterday in Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner on one eye (waterline only) and Sephora’s Flashy Liner on the other. Flashy Liner pretty much stuck around clear into the 7th hour stretch where as UD was looking like it needed a little helping hand around the fourth hour of wear. I know many of you have experienced issues with UD’s liners not sticking around on your waterline long so these might be worth a look at if you’ve had such problems.
You get shades Deep Black, Flashy Grey (more like metallic shimmer to me), Flashy Indigo, Flashy Voilet, Flashy Ultra Green, Flashy Ultra Brown (more like bronze to me), and Flash Brown.
Some of the shades come across a normal creamy finish but some have a cool liquid metal effect that gives them a nice shiny gleam.
I’m not partial to all the shades in the set and could have probably done without having both Indigo and Violet and instead replaced it with a cool Gold.
- Anyone who loves UD 24/7 Eyeliner pencils!
- Anyone looking for a variety of liner shades in one place (you get seven to choose from).
- Anyone who likes a long wearing eye liner with a formula that blends and smudges out easily and applies with minimal fuss.
- Diehard fans of UD 24/7 (you might find some sort of fault with these if you’re a hardcore UD fan, understandable).
- Anyone wanting a range of cool colors (I felt like I could have done without some of the shades such as the silver and indigo. I’d have liked better shades such as a gold or aqua, room for improvement here).
Overall, the set was a win although I can’t completely verify if they are or are not waterline safe as of yet but so far no irritation on my part. I love the set and thought it was a great deal for the $16 I paid (I got it with the 20% Off Sephora FF). It’s alot to say considering my dislike of Sephora’s makeup quality but when they get it right, they get it right so damn well!
Totally a hit.
