The jewel box and the cheek stain set are super cute! There goes my plan for, “Oh, I’ll just get skin care during the Sephora F&F…you know…the essentials…”

  • elizabeth

Oh noes! Now I don’t know whether to get the Jewelry Box or Too Faced Enchanted Glamourland during F&F! The Royal Collection looks cute too, I’m a sucker for ruffles.

    • the Muse

elizabeth the selection is crazy this year ;_D hard choices, I say get ’em all hehe!

  • cassie

Oh no….that Royal Collection is looking at me!
    RESIST!!!
    Those shadows look gorgeous……

      • cassie

The second palette is at Sephora?
I do think the Jewelry Box is the obvious better value, but I love Tarte primer and I think the colors in this set are beautiful. I am also rethinking the cheek stain situation :).

        • the Muse

cassie I’m not sure yet if it’s exclusive to ulta or will be available at sephora and tarte, trying to find out ;-D

  • Sarah

Ahh I want someone to get me that jewlry box pallete, and the royal collection palette, and the lip gloss set!

  • Jane

I can’t believe these holiday collections! It’s only October but oh my! Muse which is the better deal – the Tarte Jewelry Box Palette or the Lorac Box Office Sensation? Which shadows are better etc. I haven’t used either brands so it’ll be a first either way lol. It’s so sad I have to choose *sniff*

    • the Muse

hey jane I’m not sure yet hun as I haven’t seen Lorac’s in person! I find tarte and lorac have similar texture wise. Silky and thinner shadow formula.

  • HautePJ

I am a recent convert to the Tarte 40 winks gloss, so I caved and got the lip gloss set when I was at Sephora. I will say the price is nice, but a lot of the lighter colors lack good pigment and looked very similar when swatched on my hand. But my lips have pigment, so they may look different while on!

hey muse! i’m going to go ahead and buy some christmas presents during the FF event and trying to decide between the Tarte the Jewelry Box palette or the Sephora 2010 Blockbuster. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    • the Muse

Hi Jenniet awesome have fun hauling ;-D Not sure haven’t played with the Sephora Blockbuster yet hun but I’d prob go with the Tarte at least you can be sure you’re getting great makeup 🙂

      • Jenniet2002

so i ended up getting the Blockbuster for my sister (she wanted it over the Tarte, crazyyyy i know) and ended up hauling the Tarte for me, myself, and I. I also picked up the Clinque Brighter Skin Set with the Clinique Even Better Corrector (hope it works) and the Benefit Some Beauty to Love Set, also scooped up a Tarte EmphasEyes pencil in Lapis (bright blue). I am officially BROKE….=)

Hi! I am a makeup-artist and I did own the Tarte Jewelry box- but I returned it- here is my review that i posted on Sephora’s website-

“Okay- So I am complete makeup junkie. And Last year I was so bummed that I missed out on Tarte’s Treasure Chest christmas palette. I had heard that it was fantastic and had incredible pigmentation. So when I was at my local Sephora and saw the brand new Tarte Jewelry Box Palette- I did a little dance in the store! It had so many gorgeous looking colors and MATTES! Matte shades are the thing so many makeup companies stupidly leave out of palettes, and on top of that had 5 new jewel toned eyeliners- So i was stoked! ……….then I got it home 🙁
Talk about poor pigmentation- For the matte shades I literally had to jam my brush on the shade to get anything other than a sheer color payoff. Any Makeup Artist will tell you that a sign of a quality eyeshadow is pigmentation- and I have a $5 dollar Wet n’ Wild Icon Palette that blows the socks off the crappy quality of these shades. And the eyeliners I was so excited about- tug around the eyes and lasted less than two hours on my waterline before smudging everywhere. I am very fair towards any company- I am an equal opportunity Makeup-ist if you will- So I gave it another couple tries- and was disappointed each time. I guess Tarte sheers out their shades for the holiday sets- so it can be accessible to those with novice skills?? But still… Quality is Quality and this would be a great deal if it actually had the pigmentation it claimed to have. Go for the Too faced LE palette this year- less shadows- but AMAZING pigmentation and includes mattes it didn’t have last year- plus a full Shadow Insurance- which is a fantastic eye primer- This Tarte box is definitely going back to the store. Thank goodness for Sephora’s return policy.”

Hi Meghan sorry to hear all this badness with the palette. I haven’t tried mine yet but it looks damn pretty ;-D I got the last two of them in recent years and I loved them so I imagine I’ll like the new one as well. but stinks that you aren’t loving it, very sorry to hear it!
