Tarte Ring It In Cheek Stain Set Review, Swatches, Photos

I dig that Tarte embraced this jewelry theme this year. The new Tarte Jewelry Box comes with a reusable necklace and the Tarte Ring It In Cheek Stain Set contains an actual ring you can wear.

Isn’t the theme so damn cute?

Loves it!

Let’s have a look at the Tarte Ring It In Cheek Stain Trio and I promise, later this week I’ll show you the monster Jewelry Box Palette, it’s incredible.

Jump!

A trio of Tarte Cheek Stains with a reusable gold ring!

My sister hauls this set year after year after year. She’s a very big fan of the Tarte Cheek Stains and this is a great time to grab them considering you get three for $25. Best part? The stains are available in three new shades!

If you’ve never used Tarte Cheek Stains they are twist up gel sticks which can be dabbed on lips and cheeks for a healthy, natural flush of color. Tarte spiced up this year’s trio by including a gold twist ring. I actually like the ring, it’s rather fun. The size of the ring is pretty universal as it has a stretch bang so if your fingers run a bit larger you can easily take advantage due to the stretch band. I’d say the ring starts at around size 7 or so and can be “stretched” to fit larger sizes. The design is a gold knot which is a little larger than a quarter. It’s a larger, funkier ring so if you like a larger designed ring this one will be for you!

The shades included in this set are all limited edition and include Luster (Bronze-y Golden Champagne), Vivid (Vibrant Pink), and Flawless (Golden Coral). I felt like Luster and Flawless leaned towards being more a highlighter for cheeks than a blush and Vivid gives a healthy pink to cheeks. The gel formula is hydrating and doesn’t feel dry like powder, it remains tacky to the touch once in place but nothing that can’t be blended out plus the formula is heavy duty natural with no parabens and tons of add ons such as acai fruit extract, goji berry, and pomegranate extracts, all ingredients high in antioxidants so if you favor your beauty a bit more “green” friendly these are for you!

(First application)

(Blended out)

I find that Tarte Cheek Stain needs a touch up throughout the day as it never quite stays on me for more than 2 hours.

  • Anyone who adores Tarte Cheek Stains (you get three for a great price plus a ring!).
  • Anyone who wants a healthy flush of color or a minimal makeup look that makes you look bright and fresh!

  • Anyone seeking a long wearing blush (these do require a bit of touch up as the day progresses).

The fun extra of a ring in this gift set really spiced this old favorite (this set is released every year just with new shades) up and made it fun again. The set is a great value at $25 and allows you to add to your current stash of cheek stains with new colors or to try a variety of shades if this is your first introduction to the product and/or brand. The formula will appeal to those who seek out a paraban-free, good for you ingredient list as well.

Loves it.

A rather great gift set from Target to get or to give.

Available from tartecosmetics.com, Sephora, and Ulta.

I really just want the ring by itself! So cute!

So I have a few mini Tarte stains from sets and for the life of me can’t figure out how to apply them so I don’t look greasy. They just all look streaks of an oil slick and never seem to last :(. When I use my fingers to blend I end up disturbing the foundation. Do you use a preferred brush to blend out?

    • the Muse

LOL PJ same here. I was all about the damn ring ;-D hehe! Just dab ’em on and blend with your finger tips hun. It works a treat ;-D

Hello. I use a blush brush to apply product directly from container and blending is not necessary. I have oily skin and follow with a light sweep of one of the various shades of the 24 hr Amazonian Clay powder blushers. My blush stays on forever! These blush sticks also get an oily residue that I just blot with oil control sheets (the tissue kind) and problem solved.

I love mine so hard. Vivid is my new favorite blush.

I would never go through an entire full-sized cheek stain, so I wait to get the minis each year.

    • the Muse

laci good plan ;-D plus you’ll have the chance to have a bigger collection of colors with the minis!

  • Jessie

The ring is gorgeous, I’m more attracted to it than the cheek stains 🙂

  • Cherrie

I love tarte cheek stains, so I will definitely check out this kit. The ring is cute!

I love these stains, they actually do last for a whole day/night on me but I apply them last after my powder & setting spray and press them into my skin.

Can’t believe I took so long to give up the powder blush that I never could get to look just right for these, but that’s all because of your reviews and pics Muse!

    • the Muse

aw so happy you’re loving these kharanya ;-D So flattered I could help!
