Unforgettable Moments Promise Eau de Toilette Review

Are you a fragrance snob? I’m not sure I deem myself one. I like higher end fragrances for sure and have a tad bit of an unhealthy obsession for Annick Goutal but I’m not sure I would call myself snobbish if I came across a cheaper scent that I really liked. For example, I absolutely adore e-tailers like Beautiful Twists and the body mists and such that they do.

I tell you, there is nothing like walking into a Payless and seeing perfume. That’ll really kick in your snobbish good nature like nobody’s biz! As you know from my prior posts, Payless now carries a line of cosmetics, bath and body, and fragrance.

I did so pick up a the Unforgettable Moments Promise Eau de Toilette out of pure whim last week and brought it all the way back here to review for you.

This is $19.99 and available in two versions. I don’t remember the other fragrance’s name but it’s a bit richer and more of an evening scent where as the one I picked up, Promise, is more upbeat, light, and perfect for day wear.

I think the packaging is the first thing that caught my attention. Although the box and outer wrapping is a tad on the cheesy side, the actual bottle is refreshingly pretty for a budget purchase and has a bit of a Chloe vibe going on with a sweet baby blue ribbon that circles the topper. The bottle has a whimsical feel with pale blue crystal and an embedded floral swirl around the other edges. It’s very sweet, very pretty, and not something you’ll be embarrassed to have out on display.

For under 20 bucks the scent itself could prove a delightful surprise for some. First off, it deserves to be mentioned, the darker scent they have on offer was awful to my nose. Ugh. But this lighter scent wasn’t half bad. My nose isn’t great picking scents apart and I can’t tell the exact notes but it comes across as a very fresh floral with sparkling notes that have a bit of a lemon-y citrus underlay but nothing too strong in the fruit department as the fresher floral does dominate. The scent definitely has a good deal of effervescence though which makes it have a very upbeat, happy vibe.

Sadly, you do have to spray a fair bit on for some throw and it doesn’t quite linger that long but you can get 2 or 3 hours out of or even an entire day with a very subtle linger if you like a lighter fragrance.

I wouldn’t call it the best fragrance I’ve tried in the budget range but it’s not a bad one at all particularly if you’re budget is a little tighter and you can’t indulge in anything higher end. Of course, you do have to consider, in my opinion, how you can get several body mists at Bath and Body Works for along the same price line but if you’re in the mood for something a little different you might wanna check this out.

Available at, of all places, Payless Shoe Stores.

Have you tried any of the Payless lines yet?

I got this and I really like it. I was wearing Sexy Little Things Noir from VS which to me smells just like the other Payless perfume and is a bit too heavy for me now. This one is light and fresh and I get a decent 4 hours out of it.

I like how the body butter is formulated with out parabens. They should have made an emphasis on it. I had to peel the sticker on the bottom to reveal the ingredients list.

I love the accent too. i bought two on bogo and gave them away for birthday presents. my friends absolutely loves it.

I grabbed two “finishing” kits yesterday (who can resist a BOGO) & am pleased w/the fragrance. This isn’t too heavy, great for work, FAR less expensive than my favorite, Coach, and the rollerball is handy for touch ups. The fragrance Lasted about 4-5hours.
