Wet n Wild ColorIcon Holiday Palette Golden Goddess Review, Swatches, Photos

Budget friendly beauty shoppers gather round. You’re going wanna take a look at this new Wet n Wild ColorIcon Limited Edition Holiday Palette.

As you know from my prior post Wet n Wild is releasing four limited edition ColorIcon Palettes for $4.99 each that include an Eye Palette and an Eyeliner. Happy Days! Cheap makeup.

The good news is they ROCK. These are wicked awesome and even snobby high end lovers will adore ’em. Trust me I’m a snob. The bad news is they are proving a tad difficult to get a handle on. I’ve been stalking the entire New York State drugstore scene and have yet to come across them in store however it is pretty early so give it time and it might just pop up at your local drugstore shortly. I’ll, of course, keep my eyes peeled and let you know which drugstores get ’em.

But for now wanna take a look at the Golden Goddess Palette?

It’s my fav!

Jump!

A limited edition palette featuring six Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadows plus a matching ColorIcon Eyeliner Pencil!

First off, let me tell you, packaging is great. These come tucked in a slim line black palette. I know at the price of $4.99 you might be a bit wary that you’ll be forgoing decent packaging and formula but you’re not. The compact is slim, very basic, and easy on the eyes. Granted, it’s not cute or pretty but it’s not shabby or cheap either. It’s functional, stores easily, and travels well. The palette comes with one sponge tip applicator and one brush applicator. These aren’t going to do you any favors in dramatic eye look application but they work well to create a quick look on the fly however for more advanced looks I’d go with your normal stash of brushes.

The colors included are rich bronze shades most of which have a shimmery formula. The texture of the shadows is superb and honestly if you slapped a high name on this palette you’d be raving it hard. They have a velvety smooth formula that apply dreamy and blend easily with great color pay off. The shadow formula is fantastic to say the very least and wears well without fading or creasing. They stay fresh and vibrant all day.

The six shades included can create any number of looks by combining, contrasting, or wearing one at a time. Shades range from a creamy nude to several graduating bronze shades. All vivid, golden shades that are ideal for Fall, Summer, or a different Holiday look if you’re not wanting to go the more traditional look for the season.

The eyeliner included is a sparkle bronze color which applies decently with good pigmentation and smudges quite well.

Sadly the eyeliner doesn’t work well on the waterline and it applies with a bit of tugging but it does smudge nicely and has very good pigmentation so I can easily disregard the bad and embrace the good hear plus it’s just a nice little freebie extra with the already awesome palette you get!

  • Anyone who likes rich, golden shades of color!
  • Anyone who enjoys good quality drugstore makeup (this is the top of the line).
  • Anyone who wants a cheap, inexpensive shadow palette with warmer shades of color!
  • Medium, dark, or tan tones will love how these shades compliment their skin.
  • Brown eyed girls you need it, ’nuff said (compliments my big brown eyes beautifully!)

  • Makeup snobs (but I beg you please try it before you knock it! You’ll be surprised how fab it is).

I’m deeply impressed with this palette and I’m greedy to get my hands on the other palettes in the collection! At $4.99 this is the most affordable Holiday Palette you’ll get your hands on this season and one of the best as well. The quality of the shadows is brilliant at this price and I’m very happy to have had the chance to try this and add it to my own stash.

Do you need it?

Hells yes!

Awesome palette!

Start stalking your drugstores girls!

PS That’s MAC My Highland Honey on my cheeks!

This one gets a big Muse Approval for purchase!

Very nice selection of different shades of browns! One for every kind of weather! (;-)

  • Kat

how does this compare to the vanity palette? it looks like the colors could be similar. thanks 🙂

    • amelie

I have the Vanity palette and while they are a little similar in terms of color families, the holiday palette is definitely more exciting. It has much warmer colors and a lot of shimmer and sheen. It’s a lot more glamorous, in my opinion, which is understandable, since it’s a holiday palette and everyone tends to glam up a little more. 😀

Even so, I think that it’s suitable for everyday use, to give a boring work/school outfit some sparkle!

  • mon

Yay! Thank you Muse for this review! So many people knock Wet n Wild because it is a drugstore brand or because it’s one of the cheapest of the drugstore brands. I admit that I didn’t quite like the brand either because of the bad luck of always getting misses, but once I discovered online beauty reviews, wnw rocked my world. I really liked their old blushes and some of their new products show that they’re really trying to up their game. Thanks for the review and I look forward to all your future holiday posts!

    • the Muse

my pleasure mon! I’ve had alot of misses in the past but the brand has revamped a good deal and recent releases, such as this, are really incredible. If they keep this up, it’ll be staple go to brand for me ;-D my pleasure!

  • Carolanne

I am so afraid I’m going to end up missing these! What’s interesting, though, is that this is all shimmer, whereas the permanent ColorIcon palettes are half matte, half shimmer. Not that I’m complaining =] Just observing. I honestly can’t WAIT to get these! I just hope they aren’t all gone before I get to them!!!!! =[]

    • the Muse

Carolanne I hope you get ’em hun ;-D I’m stalking the stores myself!

  • hana

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    AM I DREAMING?

And you say the quality is awesome?!?!?!

imma buy all the palettes omg when is it coming out?! I definitely do NOT need any more eyeshadows but these are such a steal! And portable hahahaha any excuse to justify getting more.

Hopefull the Rite Aid near my uni would carry it since they carry wet n wild products.

    • the Muse

very awesome hana 🙂 I don’t have any set dates but I imagine towards the end of the month you’ll see it at drugstores ;-D good luck!

  • Daisy

Where did you find this one? I’m in NYC too and I haven’t seen this anywhere.

    • the Muse

Hi Daisy this is a press sample. As I said in the review I’ve been looking all over NY as well and will post if I find them 🙂

  • Brittany

  • Nikkia (Silver Lips)

Hey Sunshine, long time no chat! How are ya? I so want to get my hands on these limited edition palettes. Sadly I can’t find them anywhere. Anywho, Love the FOTD and palette 🙂

    • the Muse

hey nikkia ;-D how are you!? very long time ;-D Same here but I chalk it up to the fact they are just now starting to stock holiday so keep stalking girl! ;-D you’ll find it!!!!!!!!!!

  • layla

I really wish wet n wild was available here in kuwait 🙁 feel like i’m missing out on tonnes! the colours look amazing! fingers crossed that my local boots decides to stock the brand one day

  • Andrea

Ack! I usually only use Bare Escentuals makeup, but this palette looks pretty dang tempting! I might have to try this…

  • Wendy

Oooh this is lovely! I’ve been meaning to get more bronzes and plummy type shades. I really like this… but watch, my local drugstore won’t get them or will get 1 or 2 🙁 . I really like the palette with the red as well!

  • Jennie

Everytime I look at the palette I get so confused. The little swirls make my brain think that these are cream shadows. I hate cream shadows. But I know they’re not though. I saw the pretty powdery swatches. But all I can this about are cream shadows now!

  • Cindy

It looks awesome ! Unfortunetaly this brand is not available in the Netherlands, but i will keep my eye on Ebay 😉

      • Cindy

Thanks 😉 I know a girl in the US, and i just came up with the idea to ask her to look out for this, she purchases often things for me and send it to the Netherlands, she’s sweet 🙂

        • the Muse

yay cindy awesome ;-D there you go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D I hope she can locate for you hun!

  • yay

I don’t see Golden Goddess Verison though but I did see Halloween version one… i wasn’t too thrill with that so i figure i will wait till Halloween is over and see if they mark down the price… haha…. i do want the Golden one you got there…..

  • Hana

Oooh, pretty. I’m definitely going to grab this once I see it! What lip gloss are you wearing in that picture? I want it!

  • Lisa

Ooh, this palette looks really nice! I’m obsessed with golds lol. Thanks for posting this! 🙂

  • Robin

Count me in on the WnW holiday palette stalkers! I’m so looking forward to having a good cheap little haul 🙂

  • Christine

I’m going crazy trying to look for these palettes. I read somewhere that they would be available beginning in October. All the drug stores employees are starting to think I’m a stalker!

  • Face2Mac

I have been stalking as well. I look on the top of the shelves at Rite-Aid, CVS and Walgreen’s. I even asked at Rite-Aid did they have it in back: shameless.

  • Kalee

i just bought 2 other ones today and i thought these colors were sooo pretty but i think they are too warm for my skin tone. (im fair, cool toned). the golden-ish shadows i have already i barely wear so i didnt get it.

    • the Muse

Aw sorry kalee. there are four total so maybe something else will work for ya?!
