Guerlain Spring Collection 2011

Guerlain Spring 2010 brought us visions of Cherry Blossoms. The collection was feminine, flirty, and pink! Images of Spring 2011 are popping up on quite a few European websites and this year it doesn’t quite capture the Spring vibe it did last year. Guerlain goes a bit more traditional this year with a resort-y type Spring Collection. It’s not uncommon for brands to do bronze, resort-like shades and collections for Spring as we are still deep in Winter when they release these items and I guess they feel like people are gearing up for warmer weather or a mid-Winter break to some fabulous Island. Whatever the case may be Guerlain captures some of that vibe with Spring 2011.

Let’s have a glance at the images.

Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain

  • Rouge Sensuel
  • Orange Euphorique
  • Fuchsia Delice
  • Rose Desir

Guerlain Blush G de Guerlain

Guerlain Ecrin 6 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette Rue de Rivoli

Guerlain Meteorites Compact

  • Teint Rosе
  • Teint Beige
  • Teint Dorе

Guerlain KissKiss Gloss Haute Brillance

  • Frizzy Mango
  • Moka Shake
  • Rosy Plump

That blush looks stunning and definitely captures the essence of a great vacation in the middle of Winter! Although I will say the eyeshadow palette was somewhat mismatched with the rest of the release. Seeing popping shades of orange, pink, and fuchsia and following up with purple and gray for eyes seemed a tad out of place.

What do you think?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. GAAAAAAHH!!!!! Must. Have. Rouge Gs. Blusher….. To think that we’re just starting on winter collections! Now pics come up and I’ve to save for Spring already??

  • JoElla

Very pretty colors, but the naughty chick in me is screaming BLEND THAT BLUSH! LOL

  • Hannah

At first glance I though the eyeshadow palette was called ‘Rue de Ravioli. Lol. Shows how good my french is.
It’s a nice collection, nothing super special. The current holiday collection is more appealing to me.

    • the Muse

LOL hannah! that’s what I thought ;-D I do like the blush, that seems very special ;-D!

  • Sara Hoskins

Oh, Guerlain, you are always so pretty. Thank you for posting those! Seeing photos of their products makes me want a beautiful old-timey vanity to display them on. Then the realistic side of my brain kicks in and says “you have too many eyeshadows as it is!! Stop that!”

By chance does anyone here know how to pronounce “Guerlain”? I’ve got an idea, but I’m not sure and I’d like to peep ’em out at the counter more often. I worry the ladies who work there already don’t take me seriously, and if I go in there saying “lemme see dem dere gorlanes mete-o-rites please?” they’ll just roll their eyes at the country bumpkin. (btw, I don’t actually talk like that, just makin’ some over-exaggerations for dramatic effect. too much coffee. :))

lol sara can relate my dear!

Guer-lane as in Guer reminds with Grrr. Hehe ;-D No worries. Ugh counters are always so chippy aren’t they!? ;-D

  • Sara

Awesome, thank you! I had a feeling that’s how it went (though I kept trying to fancify the “lain” part and it was not sounding good at all).

And, yes! I never understood it! I took my younger sister to a counter a few months ago and the woman looked at us like we were unwashed miscreants! I’m almost thirty for pete’s sake.

  • Ebontien

OMG! The Meteorites Voyage finally have different shades like the perles version! Now I beg Guerlain that this is permanent!

the middle lipstick is calling my name. I’m not a huge guerlain fan – I find quality vs. price that I’m happier with Chanel and Dior but that is a pretty redddie orangie corally need it color. I’ll peep at it when it hits the counters. TY For the post

I like the palette, especially that magenta (hot pink?). Although I may just buy that as a stand alone color rather than a palette if it’s offered. 😀

Sara I asked an associate at the Guerlain counter how to say it correctly. She said it could be pronouced a couple of way…but that if I were speaking in the English language then the pronunciation would be like muse said:

    Grrr-Lahwn.

I’ve only had one associate get a snooty attitude with me and that was at the makeup counter in Bergdorf Goodman. I almost informed her that she was wearing a nametag and that I was the one with a credit card in my hand. But I didn’t, I just left and went to Macy’s because the associates are nice there. I did call the store manager and lodge a complaint against her, I thought that better than causing a scene at the MU counter LOL.
