Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick Cathedral and Lolita Review, Swatches, Photos

After playing around with the Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick Set Volume 1 I decided that I would never make proper use out of it so I took a big breath and I returned it. I’m quite proud of myself for doing this since I adored the packaging and design of this gift set but I knew in my heart I’d have never used some of the lipstick shades included in the set.

So what did I do?

I grabbed full sizes of Cathedral and Lolita, the two shades in the set that did work for me!

Check it!

Considering these two shades were the ones I adored from the gift set I purchased, I’m quite happy to have them in full size and think I invested in the better option here as I have full sizes of the colors I liked best.

Now Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick is probably one of the more pigmented lipsticks I’ve tried, in the realms of Lipstick Queen however the formula is a bit drying so definitely pair up with your favorite gloss to keep it from migrating, drying out and flaking up.

Although Cathedral and Lolita are very similar shades of dusty roses, they are both gorgeous.

Cathedral is the deeper of the two shades where as Lolita is a bit lighter but honestly they can probably past for dupes when swatched side by side but on lips I do believe they look different.

I don’t own a ton of dusky rose shades and I’m happy to add these two to my collection since they have a very nice sophisticated look and feel when worn with a simple eye look plus the pigmented formula really speaks for itself.

Likey both shades.

If you aren’t sure about the at Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick Set and you’re kinda on the bubble about whether you need it or not I do suggest just skipping and grabbing these two shades instead!

Dusty rose shades your thing?

Grab these!

Loves ’em!

Interesting dark shades, I’m not too fond of gothic style, but I should consider buying a brown shade, hm!

Those are very pretty, very muted. These lipsticks are just too drying for me though.

OMGs, I’ve been checking out your blog a lot lately and I felt compelled to leave you a comment today. I am enjoying your reviews so much and I find your blog so entertaining. 🙂 You put a smile on my face, Muse! I haven’t tried any of the Kat Von D lipsticks, but I LOVE the eyeshadows. I have one of the palette’s that came out a while ago.

Maybe I’ll give them a try. I’m into more vibrant pinks and corals, but I’ve been trying to find something a little more toned down for the fall and winter this year

xoxo – happiness and health to you.

Thanks for posting that review! I too was on the fence about the lipstick set. They are just so dang small! I was also thinking I’d like to try one of those two colors and wanted to see swatches. If you like those kind of shades, I’d recommend Prayer. It’s my favorite lipstick EVER.,

I havent really used the mini lipsticks, but I do love the packaging, which is stopping me from returning it.

I have cathedral right now and I’m absolutely in love with it! It’s like a mauvy pink and is the perfect neutral shade for me. I want to buy the Lolita liquid lipstick because it’s so long lasting! Lolita looks like more of a nudish brown on me.
