Majolica Majorca Majoromantica Review, Photos

One of Shiseido’s more popular Asian brands, Majolica Majorca, and a favorite of mine, has a very small Holiday Collection this year. The selection features a fragrance oil, nail polish, and a new red mascara. I picked up two of the items on a whim since I adore the brand.

I imagine their Holiday Collection is so tiny because they are gearing up for a larger Spring release. Happy Days!

But we are in full Holiday mode so let’s worry about that first.

Today I have Majolica Majorca Majoromantica to review for you!

Let’s have a look!

Seductive, sweetly scented perfume oil!

Part of the appeal of Majolica Majorca Majoromantica is the packaging. I found the red bottle and signature gold MJ emblem on the topper very sweet. It reminds me of an old glass alchemy bottle and looks quite lovely on my vanity. It is indeed glass so you do have to be careful with this as if you drop it, it will indeed shatter.

The topper has an attached wand for application so you simply twist it off and dot the wand on your pulse points. It’s obviously a fragrance oil blend so a little goes quite a long way and the fragrance has a good throw and a linger. You can easily swipe it on and get through an entire day still smelling of the sweet, sultry scent!

My nose doesn’t catch the notes that MJ claims are in this fragrance. Berry, citrus, rose, sandalwood and vanilla. I’m not sure how they successfully blended it but it comes across girlish yet sexy, sweet yet mysterious. It’s interesting. Those who generally like sweet, fruity blends with a little edge will enjoy this. I don’t particularly get rose or berry but I do get something sweet with a splash of citrus touches of vanilla and a dominate sandalwood note that adds mystery. It’s a rather gorgeous blend and would work well in a mist or spray form.

Only bad thing I can say is I wish it came in bigger bottle and wasn’t limited edition!

  • Those who enjoy sweet, fruity blends!
  • Majolica Majorca fans!
  • Those who prefer fragrance oils!

  • Anyone who gets emotionally attached to fragrances (it’s only around for the Holidays).
  • Anyone who isn’t interested in “tracking” beauty down (this is available within Asia only so E-bay and online shops are the only way to get it).

I liked Majoromantica alot. It’s a very me fragrance and should appeal to those who like fresh fruity, sweet blends but also those who like scents that are sexy, sultry, and mysterious. Although MJ is a very girlish brand this scent is very womanly however it has some contrast of sweetness as well!

Loves it!

I’ll be purchasing a back up.

Very Muse Approved for purchase!

Okay, got this in the mail today… it’s lovely! Perfect for me… I’m almost tempted to drink it, it’s so yummy. 🙂

        • the Muse

that’s so great Jonnie! I’m happy to hear it. Damn shame it’s LE le sigh!

I’ve been ridiculously busy. There is a ton of crap at work we are ramping up for… I’m always lurking here but I don’t have a lot of time for comments! However, this sparked my love of cool Japanese stuff… I read all the Nana manga recently and it brought my Japanese otaku side to the front, so great timing with this! I think the bottle really does it for me.

In a similar but much less affordable way, Nana has also made me obsessed with owning some more Vivienne Westwood. Yikes. But it’s soooo pretty!

aw I hear ya jonnie, totally can relate, been insane! aw yay for nana ;-D loves it! good news is lots of VW dupe-age around ;D!

      • jonnie

Yah, I love Nana… I don’t think any manga has ever made me cry that much. I sure hope Yazawa Ai feels well enough to finish it one day soon! I can’t believe I never heard of it before last month. Good josei manga is so hard to find in English! I wish I had time to learn Japanese.

As for VW, but I want the real stuff! 😛 I already had the armor ring and I just bought a necklace, scarf and bag… that’ll have to do me for now. Although I saw a lovely coat that was relatively affordable… I am trying to tell myself I don’t need it. I have many coats already…

And as for this perfume oil, I’m trying to stalk ebay. 🙂 just to get back on topic…

I love the bottle look! Although I’m not so sure about the applicator. does it drip very easily?
It doesn’t seem very hygienic too if you have to keep swapping that wand on your skin and waving it in open air. =/ maybe on that note it’s a good thing the bottle’s not too big.

    • the Muse

Nope mint doesn’t drip easily. Dip it in and smooth it on. Works pretty easily.

I’ve got this too! It really has an interesting smell. I was deciding if I should get it. In the end I succumbed and got it. 😛 It comes with a huge red pouch too. 🙂

I will be stalking Adam Beauty for sure for this! You are such an enabler, Muse – I have the new Gorgeous Wing Neo mascara ‘winging’ it’s way to me as we speak due to your rave reviews of this brand’s mascaras! I have become just a *leetle* obsessed with tracking down the hard to find in the U.K. Asian brands now!
