My Beauty Diary Bird’s Nest Review
Bird’s Nest soup is Chinese delicacy and it an expensive one to boot. Amoung a slew of supposed health benefits, Bird’s Nest is also highly sought after for its skin benefits. Supposedly it helps your skin to retain moisture, strengthens it, etc…
Don’t be confused, yes, Bird’s Nest is exactly that, a bird’s nest.
One of my favorite sheet masks brands, My Beauty Diary, recently introduced a Bird’s Nest mask and I quickly snatches up a few boxes. I’ve been using these masks for a few months now and they could prove to be my favorite from the brand.
Let’s have a look!
A mask that contains kappaphycus extracts which helps to increase the moisture level of your skin. It also contains hydrolzed rice protein and hydrolzed soy protein which is supposed to improve skin’s resilience and elasticity while brightening.
The Bird’s Nest Facial Mask is probably one of my favorite’s from the brand for a number of the reasons one of which is the excellent fit. The mask runs thinner than other sheet masks from My Beauty Diary and fit beautifully on my face. They adhere like a second skin, it’s just a really great fit. Not that other masks from the brand don’t fit but this is a thinner sheet and just fits really nicely against the skin.
The best part about the mask in my opinion is how it locks in moisture. I use these once or twice a week (once is plenty to be honest) and it keeps my dry skin feeling super charged with moisture throughout the week. I wake up after using one the night before and my skin just feels so incredibly hydrated. I also notice my skin has a more youthful glow where as normally I suffer from certain dullness. It also feels as if it fills my skin, gives it a certain plumpness, sounds weird I know but that’s kinda the effect. At first glance, after the mask is removed, I notice no difference in skin tone however the morning after my skin does appear noticeably brighter.
For those who have never used a sheet mask it’s simply a mask that’s soaked in essence aka lotion and fit to your face. You can wear it for 10 minutes or longer, heck, I sit around in mine for 50 minutes sometimes soaking up all the gorgeous essence in the mask. After you simply peel off the mask and throw it away! Normally your skin will feel moist after use so you can pat that into your skin.
Masks don’t normally have long term benefits but they are nice for getting your skin properly in order for a big night out or when your skin is being a bit on the dull side or when Winter is taking its toll.
Some masks I use several times a week where as others, like this one, I use only once or twice a week. Most folks use ’em once a week, maybe twice. It’s a great way to get your skin in good shape!
I’ve never seen long term results from masks which stinks however with constant use your skin will remain in excellent shape!
- Those with dull skin in need of a pick me up!
- Anyone wanting brighter, whiter skin (these will temporarily give a brighter, whiter effect).
- Anyone who needs to get their skin in order quickly (big date? some important event? Use one an hour before you head out and your skin will truly look incredible).
- Anyone who needs to retain more moisture (I notice the Bird’s Nest really keep my skin super hydrated).
- Anyone who doesn’t like airmail fees or tracking down products online, etc…(My Beauty Diary is a Taiwanese brand and not easily located in local drugstores so online shopping is the way to go).
These are by far my favorite masks from My Beauty Diary, believe me, I tried alot. I love how they keep my skin amazingly soft and smooth. My skin just looks healthier and glowing after use and it seems to really work in my favor as the results do stick around a fair bit as long as I keep up with using the mask once a week! Truly if you have dull, dry skin, these are the Beauty Diary Masks for you!
Love!
