Almay Smart Balance Pressed Powder

The new Almay Smart Balance Press Powder comes in three “custom” color combinations. This is a pressed powder with what appears to be a base of transparent white powder and tiny dotted layers of color. Supposedly the powder adapts to your skin tone for a perfect fit. I’ve been trying the Light/Medium version and so far I actually kinda like it. It doesn’t have a ton of coverage but it brightens up the face rather nicely.

I’ll tell you more in my full review later but here are some images to tide you over!

Have you tried the Almay Smart Shade Collection?

Does it work for you?

Share it!

Note: Please do not hotlink images. If you’d like to share please link directly to this post. Thank you!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Images look good! I can always count on the Muse to keep me updated 🙂

Maybe I’m Internet/computer retarded, but is hotlinking when people copy the image location and imgsrc=”blahblah” it onto their blogs or whatnot? If so, I’m guilty of it and I apologize! It’s just so easy to do that sometimes, but I’ll stop, since I hear it’s causing so many issues!

Do you have a watermark you ever use? Would you be willing for people to save images, upload them on tinypic or something, as long as they credit the source back to you? I post a lot of my anatomy notes and critiques online, so I’m VERY anal about crediting sources back. If not, I totally understand! I just like how images look in blogs and stuff. Don’t hate me!! *shields self from Muse-y wrath*

aw thanks Laure ;-D glad you enjoy the updates.

Correct. If you’re using the image source code and it’s still hosted on another site such as mine for example it sucks resources from a server that I pay $200 some odd dollars a month to run 🙁 If it was a free platform such as wordpress.org or blogger it wouldn’t be such a big issues because they seem to have unlimited resources or so it seems sometimes but since I am self hosting the site it does cause major probs particularly when large makeup forums and such hotlink 🙁

I don’t mind them on your own blog however a source to me would be appreciated please. Thanks 🙂 no hate!!!!!!!! ;-D!

I love Almay stuff with Elaine Irwin Mellencamp on it. They live in my town and one of my friend’s sister’s dated their son earlier this year (and came to dinner with his private security guard), our cute asian grocery has an almay ad up on the office door and it says “be really nice to her!”

Haven’t really liked their products though, they don’t do much for me.

So I bought it in Light but haven’t opened it yet…what did you like about it?. I’m thinking of returning it based that you said it wasn’t alot of coverage. I have some redness on my cheeks so you think it wouldn’t cover that?. Thanks!!!
