B&C Laboratories Sony CP Peach Hand Cream and Lip Balm Review, Photos, Swatches

I was thinking hard about it, no worries, haven’t shorted any circuits here….and I realized I apply hand cream just as chronically and compulsively as I do lip gloss.

Seriously.

Any chronic hand cream appliers out there? Is there a club? Can we get moral support for the compulsion? Is there anyway to stop when presented with kawaii fruit shaped lip balms and hand creams from Japan?

Why do they tempt us?

Jump!

A peach scented hand cream and lip balm from Japan!

Sony CP actually has an entire range of lip balms and hand creams that come housed in tiny jars shaped like various fruits. I think I want to admit that I have so many of these in so many forms of fruits (apples, pears, lemons) that I can easily get a little basket, place them inside, and set it up on my kitchen table as a form of decoration.

Yeah, it’s a disease people.

Honestly, Sony CP isn’t the only brand in Japan (and other Asian countries) that adore shaping skincare like fruit. Gotta love kawaii packaging.

Recently a new hand cream and lip balm were introduced in a peachy flavor and I had to indulge as I’m quite the fan of peach scented/flavored anything.

Sony CP Peach Lip Balm is a moisturizing lip cream that has a milky, creamy look with a formula that contains Peach extract as well as Hyaluronic Acid Na. It has a peachy flavor and scent much not of the artificial variety in the least but a very real fuzzy peach flavor and scent.

Sony CP Hand Cream has the same ingredients and the same scent! It gets hands really smooth but its not a highly hydrating, moisturizing hand treatment. It runs a bit thin and has almost gel-like feel so if you’re used to a thicker hand cream formula this probably won’t do the trick for you however if you hands aren’t crazy dry, flaky this will be good for use throughout the day.

I think the novelty is definitely the cute factor however I’m a huge fan of the lip balm as it turns into an oily, emollient texture as it warms up and really softens my lips and heals chapped lips.

Dipping into the product with fingers is definitely a turn off but I try to overlook this in the favor of cuteness!

The hand cream isn’t as moisturizing as I’d like but its great for in between heavier creams.

  • Anyone who likes kawaii beauty products.
  • Anyone who wants a lip balm that heals chapped, dry lips!

  • Anyone with dry, chapped hands (this prob won’t heal such a problem).

A friend of mine that lives in Tokyo sent these over to me but I’ve purchased them in shops and stores all over the city (New York area) and also online and E-bay for as little as $6 or $7 and in some cases even less so they aren’t a difficult to locate product if you have Asian communities in your city. If you like cuter beauty products these should appeal plus if the hand cream doesn’t sound like something you’d be interested in the lip balm is worth a haul as its extra soothing on dry, flaky lips particularly as we head deeper into the Winter.

Likey lots!

Totally attractive design! I would buy them, just to empty them and fill them with other favorite gels or balms.

Muse, may I suggest a cure for your dry lips and hands? I used to be the same; I’ ve tried a wide range of both products plus creams for cracked heels. The solution has been oil – any type of pure cold-pressed one. Almond oil is fine because it absorbs quickly and leaves no odor. Jojoba is even better. After having applied oil a couple of times at any dry areas of my face and body, I have problems no more. Of course, I do some maintainance, especially on the heels. I guess oil is a tough choice for most people, due to the oily feeling, but it’ s worth it because it is healing, beyond mere lubrication or temporary softening that all chemical products do. And, the good thing about almond oil, is that it leaves no stain or rancid odor on clothes. Why not experimenting with oil application?

oo good idea asuka! ;-D I’ll try it mostly never tried b/c it seems like it wouldn’t taste so nice on lips!

  • sakex

omg, I am exactly the same way with hand creams! I have about 6 lying just on my desk right now and a few more in my bag. my friends always give me the side eye when I buy more but I always try and argue that they’re just as necessary for giving a youthful appearance as face cream. haha.

I saw these (or maybe same packaging but different brand?) at mitsuwa and talked myself out of getting them but you’ve just convinced me that they are completely necessary. going to pick up a basket of cute fruits soon!

    • the Muse

LOL sakex same here, can’t get enough of ’em! LOL! ;-D seriously if nothing else they are great for decorative purposes!

  • sugar sugar

  • Kaoru

Have you been watching my post? I just reordered some of these XD.

Oh, and these aren’t a recent flavor, per-say. They were around years ago, got discontinued, and just now came back! I still have my 3 year old container from my old lip balm of this flavor ^_^.

I just love the smell; Japanese peach candy like. So good.

    • the Muse

oh kaoru had no idea about your lem! I don’t remember the peach scent/flavor from B&C to be honest. I have one from another brand though! ;-D deliciousssssss! ;D

  • Maggie

I’m totally a compulsive hand-cream-applier. I discovered Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail a while ago and now I slather it on about 15 times a day, LOL. My hands get super dry and my nails can get really brittle, especially in the winter, and this stuff is like magical hand-saving rainbow unicorns in a tube. Plus I do a healthy dose of LUSH Lemony Flutter at night!

    • the Muse

I’m pretty sure I need rainbow unicorns in a tube Maggie…yes, for sure….hehehe! Lemony Flutter is def applied all over my nails daily b/c I get major hangnails dude!

  • tina

omg, i need this! it must be added in my collection!
what i love about these is that the scent stays true to the actual fruit and it never smells fake!

  • Pepper

So cute, reminds me of Japanese Momotaro (Peach Boy) story. I have this mental image of these two cute packaging floating on the river, waiting for me to pick it up.

  • Soo

I love the packaging of these! I am all about cute packaging. 😀
I’m more compulsive about lip glossing than I am with hand lotioning it up. my lips get sooo irritably dry if I don’t constantly have something on them. also, I don’t like the feeling of creams/lotions on the palms of my hands so I actually prefer to put lotion on the back of one hand and rub it in with the back of my other hand, haha.

  • Stephanie

Yea, handcreams are a must, especially good ones. I am a dental student so I’m constantly washing my hands. Last year the backs of my hands got really dried and cracked so this year I’ve been applying hand cream like crazy to prevent that.

    • the Muse

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh BAVIPHAT! Don’t say that name out loud Isabel! LOVE! By the way we share the same name! I’m Isabella ;D

  • Hina

i have extremely chapped lips, thanks to nyc air and working in a hospital, any store in particular in manhattan that has this oily lip balm? Thanks … btw i love all your reviews! 🙂

  • Petitez

There’s a Korean brand that has a peach hand cream and it smells exactly like a peach! Really yummy and the container is also in a shape of a peach. 😉

  • Olga

    Hello,

any idea what the Ingredients are? i m allergic to certain chemicals and would like to try it. If they all natural it would be great.

  • Allie

I’ve been wanting this for a while and am obsessed with lip balms and handcreams. I walked into the store and was in love with this scent when I smelled it! The only problem is that in my city, things are way overpriced. The lip balm is $15 and the hand cream is $20! Should I spend my money on these?
