Biore Moisture Lotion Moisture (Cream In), Fresh (Cool), Moisture Review

I guess I’m a little weird but I follow the Kao Group very closely in Japan since I prefer their Biore releases over the ones that can be found in the US.

A recently Japanese release of new Biore Moisture Lotion intrigued me and I asked a friend to pick me some up. Shipping was a bit yak so I ended up telling her to skip it and hauled them from Adam at AdamBeauty (thanks Adam, love your shipping rates).

“Lotion” isn’t actually the term we’d use to describe what actually is toner. However, most Asian countries refer to toner as lotion so not to be confused here the Biore Moisture Lotion is, indeed, a toner.

Jump ahead for a peek!

A new range of toners from Biore available in Japan!

I doubt we’ll ever see these within the US but one can hope. So far I love them. I picked up all three and haven’t made proper use of one, tell you why in a sec, and felt they were overall a good deal so I’ll def be repurchasing when I run low.

Adam charges $14.50 per a bottle and $2 or so for shipping so it rounds out to $16.50 you’re shelling out. That could be deemed a bit much for drugstore toner but considering you aren’t going to get them in the US it might be worth a splurge. It was for me that’s why I indulged.

They are available in three versions. Moisture (Cream In) is a heavy, gel-like toner that is used for very dry skin. Fresh (Cool), the one I haven’t used much of yet, is for oily skin. Fresh (Cool) will be something I reach for in the Summer so haven’t really taken time to test it out now that my skin is drier). And Moisture is for normal to dry skin.

Fresh and Moisture are both liquid toners. Moisture has a slight glycerin-like feel and leaves skin refreshed and prepped for makeup where as Cream In has a heavier, gel-like feel and a milky, transulcent look. This feels very cool on my skin and offers a nice jolt of moisture to my dry, flaky skin. Both prep for moisturizer and makeup very well. I even like to pump a dollop of Cream In into the palms of my hands and use it after my moisturizer and prior to my primer to get prep my skin for foundation, makeup, etc….as it eases flaky, dry, patchy areas.

Each comes in a bottle with a pump and its recommended to apply into hands and patted on skin. I only use this method with the Cream In version to be honest and use a cotton pad for Moisture and will do so for Fresh when I get around to using it.

They are a step above some other toners I own and I like the feel of each and how well they work for my dry skin!

Since they are available within Asia it can be a pain to have them shipped over via airmail. Sadly, this isn’t something you can dash down to the store for when you run out!

  • Those with dry skin who need a heavier toner to prep with (Cream In will be ideal for you).
  • Anyone seeking a toner with a glycerin-like finish that keeps skin smooth while easing dry areas.
  • Anyone who feels like their moisturizer just isn’t sinking in (a good toner can help!).

  • Anyone who doesn’t like online shopping or international shopping (airmail costs, tracking the item down online, etc..can be tiresome to some).

Overall I really like the Biore Moisture Lotion line and felt it did something lovely for my skin. I’ll continue to repurchase them when I run out. I enjoyed Cream In the most as my skin is truly suffering in this very COLD New York weather lately. All three are worth a haul particularly if your skin goes through phases of dry to oily in the various weathers like me!

Very Muse Approved for purchase!

You can visit the Kao website and see some images of the products at www.kao.co.jp however it is in Japanese but still fun to look through none the less!

These can be purchased on E-bay as well as other online shops. I got mine from Adam Beauty.

    • the Muse

The blue-green pump “sappari” means fresh and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling after. The blue pump “shittori” leaves the skin moisturizing and a bit sticky. The pink pump “tottemo shittori” is super moisturizing.

    I speak Japanese :]

  • Maria

Oh and also, these “toners” would be better applied by hand . Put a teaspoon full into the palm of your hand and warm it by rubbing your hands together and gently press it on to your skin until your skin absorbs it. I read it in a Japanese magazine.

My mom does something similar! Apparently L’Oreal and some other brands we consider to be drugstore brands here have products, esp. lightening products that they only sell in Asia. She has family send stuff over sometimes.

    • the Muse

hey Perry! whatcha doing girl? ;-D L’Oreal and Maybelline have quite a few whitening brands in Asia, I wish we can get them here, it’s kinda sad we don’t embrace the idea. Where’s your mum from? Smart lady! I do the same because Korea and Japan have the BEST skincare products and all are soooo bloody cheap!

Good morning Muse 🙂 How was your weekend??

I’m in the middle of revamping my skincare routine, I’m on a big like Asian brand kick lol. These look really cool So I was wondering if you remember if the “cool” one has the same consistency as the cream in one? Or was is more of a liquid etc?

    • the Muse

hey dear! how was yours? mine was great! ;-D cream one has a thicker texture and the liquid ones are more water-y like a toner ;D
