Lavshuca Star Decoration Eyes GN1 BR-1 Review, Photos, Swatches
Lavshuca didn’t go the coffret route this year for the Holidays which was a bit disappointing. Nor did they go for a special palette release. They did however release a brand new selection of eyeshadow palettes. This is an interesting release for the brand considering they reserve palette releases for the Spring and only release a special palette or two or a coffret for the Holidays.
Lavshuca is a drugstore brand that can be purchased in Japan. Unlike findings in a US drugstore, Japanese drugstore makeup is of high quality, incredibly pigmented, and just stunning, packaging wise.
For Winter, Lavshuca released a total of five shades of their new Star Decoration Eyes Palettes.
Let’s have a look!
The latest variation of eyeshadow palettes from Lavshuca that features a glittery base powder!
Fans of Lavshuca will take note of the new packaging or shall I say old? This packaging does remind me of the first variation of palettes from the brand but has a nicer look and feel. The shadows come housed in a pink, beig-y metallic compact. It’s quite pretty and a fresher look compared to the aubergine shade they were embracing earlier.
Each palettes features a highlighter for the brow bone, a crease shade, and a lid/liner shade plus a glittery over base. For your look you’ll proceed to graduate each of the shades by highlighting with the lightest shade, blending the medium shade into the crease and possibly lid if you wish to use the darkest shade as a liner OR you can use the medium shade in the crease and use the darker on the lid. Proceed to finish the look by dabbing a bit of the glittery over base in the center and corner of your eyes. Done! Easy, simple eye look.
I felt like the palettes were a step above any of the palettes I own from Lavshuca (believe me I own ALOT of ’em). The brown shade I selected in BR-1 had a particularly delightful formula that applied like liquid metal. Normally Japanese shadows have a cream, powdery, chalky feel however these seem to have a creamy, powder-y formula with a heavier texture compared to past releases. I was very impressed because it does feel and apply considerably different than any of the other palettes I have in my stash at the moment. The palettes are quite good as they define and graduate well without creating a muddy mess.
I also picked up GN-1. Normally I love green shadows when it comes to Japanese palettes however this applied a tad on the chalky side and didn’t graduate as well as BR-1. But it still had excellent pigmentation and blended quite well but it didn’t look as defining as the brown version.
The glittery overbase has quite a bit of fall out but it does add such a nice sparkle so I’m not complaining much.
A friend of mine who lives in Japan got these for me however online shops and E-bay is a good place to get them but prices can be drastically jacked up so do shop around.
- Anyone who wants to experience Beauty Abroad (this is great if you never tried Lavshuca before).
- Anyone who wants to do a complete graduating eye look that’s easy (I always find it’s super easy to do a graduating eye look with Japanese palettes!).
- Anyone who likes a bit of sparkle in their eye looks (the glittery overshadows brings the bling).
- Anyone who doesn’t like shopping online or dealing with airmail (these are exclusive to Asia so they are tricky to locate but well worth it).
All in all I think Lavshuca Start Decoration Eyes are possibly my favorite eyeshadow palette from the brand to date. I had a few problems with GN1 but I’ll be indulging in the other three shades to add to my collection as they are quite lovely and feels like an updated formula to me compared to others in my stash!
Likey lots!
I’m going to slap a Muse Approval on ’em! BR-1 is particularly worth a haul!
P.S. That’s NYX Desert Rose on my cheeks in both pics! Super isn’t it?
