Les Perles de Chanel Collection Review, Swatches, Photos
I wanna replace the lyrics of Love is All Around with Spring is All Around! But honestly, Spring is SO not around dude, it’s so cold! The good news?
Les Perles de Chanel Collection reminds me it’s not far away now!
Let’s take a look at the Chanel Spring 2011 Collection shall we?
A little sneaky peek to keep us feeling warm and toasty while the weather outside is frightful!
I haven’t gotten my grubby little hands on the new Ombres Perlees de Chanel Eyeshadow which officially arrives next month on counters (but some folks have already spotted it at their local Chanel counters) and is currently available already at www.chanel.com but no worries it shall be mine peeps!
The star of the collection for me without a doubt is the Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Nakkar. It’s a bright, sparkling shade of coral peach with gold shimmer. The formula obviously needs no introduction from me but I will say Glossimers always wear so incredibly lightweight yet still have a healthy pop of color sans a sticky, tacky feel plus they wear incredibly long. Loves ’em! This shade will be very appealing to those who adore corals or peaches. Aragonite is another shade releasing for Spring 2011 and will work well as an overcoat since it does lack pigmentation and goes the more sparkly route. This is an iridescent shade of pearl with flecks of pink, gold, and blue. Perfectly fine worn on its own but best used on top of your favorite lip stain or stick.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this but the Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insouciance is an utter and complete winner. You know I brag daily how I cannot pull off a nude lip in the least but Insouciance simply works for me. I’m amazed. I wore it this morning with a dusting of beige matte eyeshadow and a gently lined inner rim of black and a bit of the new Chanel Spring Blush shade in Espiegle and it truly looked amazing. The shade is a milky creamy tan beige which is utterly unappealing at first glance but do try it out for size at your local counter, I think you’ll love it as much as I do! I’ll be doing a more detailed review snortly of Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss so I won’t get into details now, stay tuned!
Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Jersey Rose is peachy pink with a creamy finish that gives a very MLBB (my lips but better) look. If your lips are pigmented this will easily enhance them and if your lips are less than pigmented it’ll still leave behind a very pretty shade of nude peachy pink that’s very flattering.
Probably the most surprising of the lot would be the new shade of Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Espiegle. It’s a very delicate shade of golden peach that appears less than pigmented in the pan but applied it pops on cheeks and gives a smooth, glowy shade. I thought it might not work but was surprised that it can be built up easily for a beautiful effect that won’t be overly done!
All of the shades in the Les Perles de Chanel for Spring 2011 scream gorgeous but I’d keep my eyes on the Nakkar Glossimer, Jersey Shoe Rouge Coco, and most definitely Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insouciance.
I’m not sure what my ideal image is for Spring this year but I do know most brands embrace either the bronze-y Spring Holiday look or a more softer, pastel look so I was quite happy to not see either of the two in Chanel’s Spring release. For the most part I’d call it a flirty, delicate look that’s very soft and feminine.
I did a quick look last night but will be doing a few more shortly! Below I used Espiegle on my cheeks and Nakkar on my lips!
What will you purchase from the collection or what do you already own?
Anything here you’re loving?

The collection is available online now at www.chanel.com and will officially launch at Chanel counters starting in January (which isn’t to fair away now eh?).
