Les Perles de Chanel Collection Review, Swatches, Photos

I wanna replace the lyrics of Love is All Around with Spring is All Around! But honestly, Spring is SO not around dude, it’s so cold! The good news?

Les Perles de Chanel Collection reminds me it’s not far away now!

Let’s take a look at the Chanel Spring 2011 Collection shall we?

A little sneaky peek to keep us feeling warm and toasty while the weather outside is frightful!

I haven’t gotten my grubby little hands on the new Ombres Perlees de Chanel Eyeshadow which officially arrives next month on counters (but some folks have already spotted it at their local Chanel counters) and is currently available already at www.chanel.com but no worries it shall be mine peeps!

The star of the collection for me without a doubt is the Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Nakkar. It’s a bright, sparkling shade of coral peach with gold shimmer. The formula obviously needs no introduction from me but I will say Glossimers always wear so incredibly lightweight yet still have a healthy pop of color sans a sticky, tacky feel plus they wear incredibly long. Loves ’em! This shade will be very appealing to those who adore corals or peaches. Aragonite is another shade releasing for Spring 2011 and will work well as an overcoat since it does lack pigmentation and goes the more sparkly route. This is an iridescent shade of pearl with flecks of pink, gold, and blue. Perfectly fine worn on its own but best used on top of your favorite lip stain or stick.

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but the Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insouciance is an utter and complete winner. You know I brag daily how I cannot pull off a nude lip in the least but Insouciance simply works for me. I’m amazed. I wore it this morning with a dusting of beige matte eyeshadow and a gently lined inner rim of black and a bit of the new Chanel Spring Blush shade in Espiegle and it truly looked amazing. The shade is a milky creamy tan beige which is utterly unappealing at first glance but do try it out for size at your local counter, I think you’ll love it as much as I do! I’ll be doing a more detailed review snortly of Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss so I won’t get into details now, stay tuned!

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Jersey Rose is peachy pink with a creamy finish that gives a very MLBB (my lips but better) look. If your lips are pigmented this will easily enhance them and if your lips are less than pigmented it’ll still leave behind a very pretty shade of nude peachy pink that’s very flattering.

Probably the most surprising of the lot would be the new shade of Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Espiegle. It’s a very delicate shade of golden peach that appears less than pigmented in the pan but applied it pops on cheeks and gives a smooth, glowy shade. I thought it might not work but was surprised that it can be built up easily for a beautiful effect that won’t be overly done!

All of the shades in the Les Perles de Chanel for Spring 2011 scream gorgeous but I’d keep my eyes on the Nakkar Glossimer, Jersey Shoe Rouge Coco, and most definitely Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insouciance.

I’m not sure what my ideal image is for Spring this year but I do know most brands embrace either the bronze-y Spring Holiday look or a more softer, pastel look so I was quite happy to not see either of the two in Chanel’s Spring release. For the most part I’d call it a flirty, delicate look that’s very soft and feminine.

I did a quick look last night but will be doing a few more shortly! Below I used Espiegle on my cheeks and Nakkar on my lips!

What will you purchase from the collection or what do you already own?

Anything here you’re loving?

Do share!

The collection is available online now at www.chanel.com and will officially launch at Chanel counters starting in January (which isn’t to fair away now eh?).

You look lovely. It’s a soft and fresh looking makeup look. I love Jersey Rose lipstick and the glosses look wonderful. I might have to delve into this collection.

    • the Muse

aw thank you lucy you’re very kind! Jersey Rose feels all kind of special to me. For a second it reminded me a bit too much of shades released with Holiday ’10 but I quickly embraced the shade and felt like it was so MLBB!

  • Dovey

wow! all of those colors look amazing— your face looks so fresh in the picture, especially with the blush =). Would you say Espiegle dupable with NARS deep throat / orgasm, or is it totally different?

    • the Muse

wow thanks dovey you’re way too kind. I heard someone mentioning that espiegle was a nars orgasm dupe and I was like what? HUH? I really don’t feel like this has anything on NARS. Orgasm is very peachy pink and slightly iridescent-like where as Espiegle has more of a delicate golden peachy glow. Deep Throat isn’t nearly as delicate as this but could come slightly closer than NARS perhaps.

      Hope this helps!? ;D

Thanks Muse! Very helpful. And I can’t even say how awesome it is that you have time to respond to so many of our comments— it’s much appreciated =)

  • BeautyMaven

Any clue how big the eyeshadow palette is? I’m sooo tempted to order it and Nakkar (so lovely!) but $65 is a lot… eek.

    • the Muse

not sure beautymaven but as soon as I find out will give you the good word ;D

  • Nia

I so totally love you, I am loving Nakkar and Jersey Shore (;)) Rouge Coco…

Would you say Espiegle is very warm? It look gorgeous in your swatches, but I am afraid it might not work on me.

Have a great weekend and I will dream of Nakkar 😉

    • the Muse

ha nia hugs ;-D Mmm no, not very warm at all feels like a cooler peachy shade to be honest. Hope your weekend was fab hun!

  • Suri

You are so lucky to have gotten your hands on this collection already! Everything looks absolutely stunning on you 🙂 I’m a bit confused though – Nakkar was described as “Raspberry” by Chanel in the promo materials, but from the looks of it, it’s reading like a deep pinky peach! Jersey Rose is fabulous, but Rouge Cocos are so darn drying on me (and highlight every little flake and lip line) – why couldn’t they have made this peach/pink/beige hybrid as a creamy and moisturizing Rouge Allure?! In any case, I’m dont ranting… enjoy it all, Muse 🙂

    • the Muse

aw thanks suri you’re too kind. Yes, it is but I get more of a coral peach to be honest, maybe I’m nuts?! ;-D Jersey Rose as a Rouge Allure would be brilliant but I’m not minding the Coco formula too much as with a touch of gloss I’m good ;D!

  • sable

i have been eyeing espiegle! since it’s not limited i’m not in a rush to get it but the swatch reminds me perhaps of a shimmery nars sex appeal! either way i think the blush is lovely… am curious about that other shimmery pink limited edition powder as well.

    • the Muse

good call sable, sex appeal very much so ;-D I am too, haven’t been to counter yet to see the entire selection!

  • katrosado5

I want it all except for the pink blush. But I will probably only get two of the glosses. The peachy one and the neutral one you like Muse. The Jersey Rose is tempting me too. I think this is my fav out of the Spring collections so far, but for some reason I just don’t want to spend all that money at this time to get the whole shebang.

    • the Muse

katros you have time hun ;-D Spring is AGES away so you can indulge in one or two pieces now and haul more later or just do a bigger haul later ;D!

  • Anna

WoW now that I can see a look with this collection I KNOW WHAT I WANT Santa Claus! This look it’s so fresh and so natural!…Can’t wait for it! P.s.: Do you know when this collection it’s gonna be available in Italy too???

  • vulcan_butterfly

I just love those colours on you! Also, I’m jealous of your eye colour, I wish I had such nice dark brown eyes!

  • Lauren

Nice haul! I was planning on picking up the Jersey Pink RC as one of the items, but I wonder how super similar it is to Rose Dentelle?? xxx

  • leslie

Hey! I wanted to ask you do you think MAC Utterly game blush is a dupe for Chanel Espiegle? they look pretty close.

    • the Muse

I don’t think I have utterly game leslie…have to look through my stash..

  • pamela

OMG! look at those huge brown eyes! to die for! i have loved your site for years and i want to “formally” thank you for all of your very dedicated hard work keeping me updated and informed! your reviews mean more to me than SO many others~you are honestly THE first one i look to for product reviews and swatches! THANK YOU!

    • the Muse

aw pamela you’re SO SO Sweet! thank you for the amazing comment! wow! Hugs! Happy New Year hun!!!!!!!!

  • B

You look lovely : ) So pretty colors for spring.
I think I’ll get this blush and combine it with my old Coco rouges, like mademoiselle, venice.. etc ?

Ok, here comes the question: Which brush for this blush?

Since I am in Europe I’ll buy baked version Chanel which is a bit hard to use. Your suggestions?

    Thanks
    :-*

    • the Muse

hi b thanks you’re way too kind ;-D I like using the bobbi brown blusher but the euro version is best suited to a small kabuki brush ;-D swirl, tap, and bounce on cheeks bones.
