MAC Stylishly Yours Review, Swatches, Photos

I’ve been mucking around with MAC Stylishly Yours a little bit today. Out of MAC’s three upcoming color collections, this is probably the one I was the least excited about even though I tend to love bolder shades of color. With so many color stories coming out at one time I’m leaning towards loving on Peacocky and Cham Pale the most at this point.

How about you?

I only have two pieces from this collection to share but let’s have a peek anyway.

Jump!

MAC Cream Colour Base prove annoying little critters as most shades are not eye safe. Not that you want to run around with some of these shades on your lids but we all like the option to multitask. The one I got was Tickle Me Pink (not eye safe) which is a bright creamy pink. It lends a nice flush of color to cheeks and wears quite well as it has a highly emollient, tacky formula that just stays in place without budging plus it blends easily. Those with dry skin or those living in humid environments will appreciate these.

I also got one of the two Beauty Powder in Play It Proper. This is a soft pink with a bit of subtle sparkle that will work well at brightening up your complexion or even a tiny dab under your eyes to wake them up!

One item that stands apart from everything else in this collection is Dark Diversion Fluidline. MAC describes it as a blackened plum but I get more of a dark bruised cherry. This is stunning and dare I say worth a back up. The shade really brings out my brown eyes and will make not only an incredible eyeliner but also a great base for darker browns, reds, or cranberry and maroon eyeshadows.

MAC Stylishly Yours will have its faithful fans and followers but I think I can safely skip and move on to the other more exciting releases upcoming.

How about you?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I paid no attention to that fluidline before but whoa, after seeing that swatch I think it’s a must-have. See, this is why MAC shouldn’t sweat their employees leaking swatches ahead of time! If I had seen that a month ago I would have been ready to hit up MAC on release day for one.

The Cream Colour Base looks like a great colour.
I will definitely get this one and I’ll get another Virgin Isle (or two).
I love the cream CCBs – they are great for dry skin !
