Mally Beauty Water Resistant Cancellation Conditioning Concealer Review, Swatches, Photos

Mally has a new Water Resistant Concealer with SPF25 which is gathering some great reviews on QVC. I purchased it on a whim since I own and adore her Concealer Cancellation system and the appeal of a water resistant concealer with such a high SPF was too good not to indulge in.

Let’s have a look!

A hydrating concealer that’s water resistant and has an SPF 25.

Protecting is just as important as concealing so a concealer with an SPF 25 really sounded appealing to me. It sounded like an ideal way to conceal my problem areas such as fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles under my eyes plus protect the delicate area around my eyes when I was out and about.

You may wish to take this review with a grain of salt because I’m not sure if I’m picky when it comes to concealer or am I am spot on with my review of them. Although I love the Mally Beauty Cancellation Concealer System I seriously feel like the Mally Beauty Water Resistant Cancellation Conditioning Concealer wasn’t nearly as good.

Some pros would be the pigmentation which is quite good and should cover small problems as well as larger ones. Also the concealer is indeed water resistant and quite long wearing. Another positive factor of the concealer would be it has a heavier yellow base which is great for canceling out darkness.

However….

For something dubbed conditioning concealer I thought it was terribly dry and sat unnaturally under my eyes. It didn’t blend well at all and a fair bit of tugging was involved to get it set correctly and even than it proceeded to crease.

I’m not sure what I expected but “conditioning” sounded like something that would be incredibly moisturizing.

  • Oily eyes may find this blends out well and wears long (it does wear long even in crummy weather conditions such as rain).
  • Anyone seeking a concealer with a high SPF (SPF25 is very tempting)

  • Those with older, drier eyes (I felt like it blended awfully and accentuated the problems under my eyes instead of concealing them).

Sadly, I didn’t feel like this helps my problem areas at all. I’m one for using concealer specifically under my eyes and I felt like this was way too drying for me. I did read reviews on QVC with a few older women who didn’t experience this problem and felt it was fabulous. Personally I’ve tried better from Mally.

Do not likey.

Available from QVC.

Hi muse, great review..but I personally love the concealer! That being said, I haven’t tried her other two-piece one so maybe I don’t know what I’m missing 😛 I think I remember you saying you purchased her face primer..did you end up liking it? I’m looking at getting her primer in “glow” and I always check your blog for a review but I couldn’t find one! Any suggestions? Thanks!

hey katy thanks for the update. quick question, what’s your skin type? and age? (if you’re willing to share) Just curious as it really wasn’t doing the trick for my older, drier eyes. 🙁 I like the two piece one alot and if you have a chance, check it out ;-D I actually haven’t tried it eep! It’s sitting in my to be reviewed pile! I’ll try to get to a review soonish ;-D!

hey muse, i’m 18 and i have a relatively oily (combo) skin so blending is rather dreamy for me but when my skin has been dry it’s been odd-looking. i’ve been wanting to try her other one but i love the spf in this one and i’m afraid i’ll fall in love with the other one and lose out on the spf! hehe okay well i’ll be looking out for it..thanks! 😀

ah ha ;-D Thanks Katy! This is our difference. I’m considerably older plus dry skin so it blends awful on me 🙁 and just looks very patchy and creases like a b*tch 🙁 I agree, I love the SPF in this and hate that the cancellation system doesn’t have that 🙁 thanks for sharing, it’ll help others in your skin and age group decide if they should indulge ;D!

    HI,

I love this concealer, it works very well on blemishes and uneven skin tone. I didn’t like the other concealer by mally, it was too heavy and thick for me, I felt it looked pasty.

Did u catch Mally on QVC today? 2 hours of beauty fun mama! lol I love her, she’s a character. I have never tried any of her things and wondered what kit u thought would be good for a Mally newbie. Also, if u did watch it today-did u see the host pretty much insult Mally at the end? Mally said her New Years resolution was to drink more water and be healthy and the host asked her if she could pick one that was less boring. Mally was nice about it though.

If you think it’s drying, I’m going to pass on this one. I’m new to the Mally line and I’m liking a lot of her products right now, but my skin is very sensitive and I really hate dry concealers. The word “conditioning” in the name is what got me, but if it does not have that attribute, I see no need to switch from my IT Cosmetics concealer, which I also find a bit drying. So the search continues …. thanks so much for your awesome reviews. When I take your advice, things always go well for me.
