NYX Mood Lipgloss Review, Swatches, Photos

Ahhh the mood lipgloss. Overly done as hell but always a fun choice in the makeup world. NYX Mood Lipgloss is the newest, color changing, perfect shade of YOU lipgloss to hit the scene.

I know, I know. We’ve seen it all before but personally NYX Mood Lipgloss brings a little something extra to the table.

Let’s have a peek!

A “magic” lip gloss starts off clear then turns into the most perfect shade of reddish-pink on your lips.

Those of you who tried and own Mark GlossBlossom will be very familiar with the texture of NYX Mood Gloss and heck even the taste. This is a spot on dupe for the product in my opinion right down to the flavor but NYX has one thing going for it that GlossBlossom does not.

First off for those unfamiliar with GlossBlossom…

This runs very loose, very thin, and has a runny consistency. It feels amazing on lips, somewhat like a lip oil. Quite emollient, quite hydrating, lightweight, and very comfortable while giving a shiny, glossy finish and a brilliant pink finish in the realms of brighter pink but not garish, scary pink (or at least I don’t think so).

I think the best part about the gloss would be the fact that it stains lips well after it disappears. The gloss doesn’t wear particularly long but once it does wear away you’re still left with a brilliant, just bitten lip look that’s very flattering and pretty and also hassle free as you aren’t needing to touch up right away since your lips are left with a nice hue of pink!

Sadly, the gloss has a thinner, runnier texture which means it doesn’t wear long and it tends to run around the lip area a fair bit. Mine migrated up my lip line and even ended up on my chin so a transparent lip liner of some type is recommended.

If you have pigmented lips already this might look way bright and quite bold. Not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion but just a word to the wise it does offer a glossy finish as well as a long lasting stain after the gloss wears off!

  • Anyone looking for a gloss and stain one!
  • Anyone looking for a just been kissed, just been bitten lip look!
  • Anyone who likes a thinner, shiner gloss!
  • Anyone who has paler lips in need of color!

  • Anyone who wants a long wearing lipgloss formula (this wears away VERY fast but still leaves behind a lovely shade of pink stain).
  • Anyone who has pigmented lips (those who already have some color in their lips might feel this is a bit loud and vibrant).

I loved this because I’m not one for racing around and touching up particularly when I get busy. This gives me a nice shiny pout but also leaves behind a long lasting pink stain for a few hours after which means I don’t have to worry how my lips are looking sans gloss. At $4.50 it’s a great budget pick for those seeking a gloss and a stain in one! I actually like it better than mark’s version even though the products are easily duped aside from the fact that NYX’s version leaves a long lasting stain behind where as mark’s does not plus the NYX sports a more budget friendly price. Loves it hard. See me wearing it by clicking here.

Totally think it’s worth your buck! The short wear time can prove kinda pesky but the stain left behind makes it worth it!

ooh! I’ve heard about “mood” changing nail polish that I kinda want (I’m not usually about them too). not sure how I feel about this one though. I like how it stains your lips though.

I like the idea of this staining the lips and it did look like a nice pink for everyday. However I am a bit over the color changing make up to your perfect shade, especially when it comes to the lipgloss the only good this is that they act kinda like a lip treatment and in the winter weather the Smashbox O gloss has saved my lips as I keep it in my purse. I glad I ordered it when I order from Cherryculture and a few other NYX goodies.

Sounds good Muse as my lips are not very pigmented.
Love the shade of pink too.

This product seems pretty cool, specially for the price. Does it have any flavor or scent?

mood is absolutely **** in my opinion. it stains the rim of my lip line. it is too runny. I would not recommend this product. I would however recommend thin lizzy lipgloss
