Revlon Photo Ready Concealer Review, Swatches, Photos

I happen to be the first person that screams, “Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!” when it comes to stick concealers. This is not the 60’s, this is not your mama’s makeup, you do not need concealer in the form of the lipstick. Why? Because I said so.

I’m sorry but stick concealers are way dated, ahem, I’m talking to you $80 Clea de Peau Beaute Concealer.

Seriously, I commonly associate stick concealers with really bad formulas and I just feel like they aren’t the best option when it comes to concealing woe under your eyes. Perhaps it’s easy enough to dab on spots and the likes but I’m one for judging concealer for the way it’ll make my eyes look awake, refreshed, and bright and I can’t really get that effect in a lipstick style concealer or at least I haven’t personally found one that does the trick.

One wonders if the new Revlon Photo Ready Concealer Stick might do the trick?

Shall we explore?

Revlon Photo Ready Concealer is the newest release from the brand that features a formula that promises to conceal and offer a photo ready finish.

Well, can’t complain too much about the stick here as it does fit the contour of my eye quite nicely and does the trick for a quick swipe, blend, and go technique. You can’t rant too much when you’re concealing at such incredible speed eh?

The formula is quite pigmented and blends out nicely however it has a few issues here and there…

Sadly, it lacks shades. I believe it comes in three shades but don’t quote me here. Of course I went for the lightest because the medium looked a tad too dark. The light shade happens to be too fair for me but at the very least I could still test it out.

It blends out well and has a solid pigmented formula. It’ll hide dark circles, it’ll hide fine lines, it’ll pretty much conceal any woe you have in and around your eyes and face without a doubt however it will crease and it will cake under the eye area particularly if you suffer from dry, aging eyes. Although it blends out evenly it still manages to look unnatural and gives the appearance that indeed you’re trying to hide something. When we select concealer for our eyes we really aren’t wanting something that gives us the “makeup look” and sadly this does just that. One good thing about the formula is it has very good wear time however within 2 to 3 hours you’ll notice creasing which you’ll have to touch up on. The concealer needs a fair bit of maintenance if you’re wanting to keep a more natural, flawless look because believe me if you keep your hands off it, chances are, you’ll look quite strange as the hours progress.

  • Younger eyes that aren’t dry (youthful eyes will find this works and comes with a nice budget prices).
  • Those that use concealer on their face (anyone with redness, spots, etc…will find this conceals quite well due to a pigmented formula).
  • Anyone with oily skin (those with oily skin might find this blends and wears more naturally compared to those with drier skin).

  • Aging, drier eyes will find this looks unnatural and creases a fair bit.

My review is based on concealing under my eyes and not so much my face as I don’t normally use concealer on my face. I liked this and felt it was a decent concealer however my drier, aging eyes can’t really pull it off so well. It has a pigmented formula however it does lack moisture and doesn’t have the most hydrating formula in the makeup world. The stick proves convenient for quick application and travel however the formula seems to look unnatural under my eyes and creases rather badly. It does wear long and will probably be a instant hit for those who do not have dry skin. It has the possibility to be good but it really depends on your skin type and possibly your age however the limit in the shade department means not everyone can partake.

I’m always on the lookout for a good concealer. I have major dark circles under my eyes. The older I get the worse they are. I won’t bother trying this one. I don’t need my eyes to look worse. I also don’t want to keep messing with my makeup. Thanks for trying this out and giving a good review.

Like you, I used to think stick concealers are a thing of the past. That’s until I’ve tried Hourglass Hidden Agenda concealer. It’s super creamy and easy to blend. Have you tried it? 🙂

I have the $80 Cle de Peau concealer, thankyouverymuch. It lasts forever and has excellent coverage (so people tell me), but I do find it drying. I’d be willing to try this just for the price. I will never spend that much on a concealer again; I was in a shopping frenzy when I bought it, LOL!

ha me too susan. it was the most overhyped purchase I ever MADE! I purchased it b/c of all the hype and completely regretted it!

ooh I’ve been looking forward to this review, too bad it didn’t work out. I recently purchased the Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer after reading your rave btw 🙂 it works great for blemishes, but unfortunately it’s too drying on my undereyes.

i have this concealer and i love it. One of the best ones I’ve ever used. I also have freckles and it covers them really well. I think it blends really nicely and it doesn’t look ‘caked-on’ or dry at all. 🙂
