The Body Shop Holiday Eye Palette Twilight Midnight Review, Swatches, Photos
What in the world happened this year to The Body Shop Holiday Collection? Damnyummm it sold out quit online and in stores!
Anyone score it?
I was lucky enough to get both of The Body Shop Holiday Eye Palettes in Twilight and Midnight and I’m happy to report I’ve seen them both in two different shops. So even though it’s gone online I do urge you to check your local store if you want them after reading my review.

Festive Eyeshadow Palettes featuring four shades of shadow and a cream highlighter!
These are a nicely made palette that features four shades of shadow in a highlighter cream. The compact is cardboard but it’s a sturdy, well built palette that can withstand and hold its own easily with a flip top design and quite a large, full size mirror inside.
The palette is available in two shade selections, Midnight and Twilight which range for warmer and cooler tones. It honestly feels like either palette can work either way due to the shades that are housed inside so whether you’re going for a warmer look for the season or a cooler one, either Midnight or Twilight will do the trick.
Twilight contains the following shades:
- Violet Sky (royal purple)
- Lilac Mist (rich lilac)
- Damson Velvet (mauv-ish purple)
- Pink Champagne (iridescent pale pink)
- Perle Illuminator Cream (pure white)
Midnight contains the following shades:
- Starry Night (black with silver shimmer)
- Pink Light (pale iridescent pink)
- Bronze Blaze (golden bronze)
- Silver (shimmering silver)
- Lunar Cream Highlighter (golden sheen)
Formula isn’t as pigmented as I like and it runs a bit on the frosty, chalky side however with proper blending and a little care you can get a very nice look. For my look above I used the Twilight Palette however it came out considerably lighter and fresher than I was going for but nice none the less, I think.
It’s been a while since The Body Shop released an eye palette so this should be exciting for those that favor the brand’s makeup releases!
Shadows aren’t wow aspiring sadly and they come across a bit on the chalky, frosty side so you really need to take proper care and attention during application. Also fall out is an issue so a base or a primer should be used prior to avoid the drama of extra clean up. Shades come across very subtly so build up is required.
I thought Midnight was a mismatched lot of colors and I had a hard time thinking up a look to use all of the shades together. One or two will combine well but honestly can’t think of a way to combine all four.
The cream highlighters are great to dab on your brow bone to create the illusion of a higher arched brown and a more awake eye however I noticed they dried out really fast and I had to rub a bit to get them warmed up for application. This could be because the palette is held closed with a magnetic closure and never truly “seals” shut so to speak.
- Those seeking an inexpensive Holiday Palette!
- Those wanting an easy to use eye palette (although some of the shades are mismatched you can easily create contrasting eye looks).
- Fans of The Body Shop Makeup!
- Those who like drama (anyone who likes a pigmented formula sans a frosty finish probably won’t wish to indulge).
- Anyone who wants an easy to blend shadow palette (blending needs a little patience here to avoid fall out and also because the formula needs a helping hand to get in place correctly).
I’m quite a fan when it comes to The Body Shop’s Makeup Collection releases but I wasn’t as pleased as I normally am with their regular range. I find some of their palettes aren’t always as lovely, formula wise, as some of their single product releases. The palettes are quite nice and would make a lovely gift but the frosty finish and chalky formula kinda made me feel a bit on the meh side about them. Those with oily lids may find the formula works a bit better however those with drier lids will need a good prep and a careful hand during application. These are nice if you’re on a bit of a budget and can’t afford $40 or more dollars for more mid-range to higher end Holiday palettes that are available however quality does fall a bit and isn’t as good as some of The Body Shop’s other offerings.
