Guerlain Rouge G Serie Noire Review, Swatches, Photos
My favorite purchase to date for Spring 2011 is without a doubt the new Guerlain Rouge G Serie Noire! Adore it. What a gorgeous piece and it inspires the need for a back up in my makeup soul. It’s been a while since I felt the need to buy back up on any makeup pieces!
But this, this I’m a more than a little obsessed with.
Loves it!

A new, limited edition graduating blush for Spring 2011 from Guerlain.
Considering Guerlain isn’t known for their wide variety of blushes I do think Guerlain Rouge G Serie Noire is a little extra special. This is a blush with a series of graduating shades that leaves behind a kiss of golden coral. The shade is perfect enough to get me all kinds of excited considering that I love shades of peaches and corals.
Shades graduate from pink to fuchsia with a dominate orange-y coral and a sensual golden beige. The dominate orange appears a tad loud and might frighten some however once combined with the other shades you end up with a golden coral that should compliment most skin types. It’s warm, pretty, and just gorgeous on cheeks. Some may wonder if it compares to NARS Orgasm, Bella Bamba, or Coralista, I personally feel it compares to none of these shades and has a more delicate pay off than the three mentioned with a more unique twist on coral with layers of spicy orange that create a glow on cheeks and face!
The formula has a very subtle kiss of golden shimmer but nothing dramatic or frightful. Formula is silky, blends easily, and has very nice vibrant pigmentation sans being too bold or overly done.
The packaging is a two tier design that features the powder and a full size mirror on the first layer and a brush stealthy, generously sized compartment for the brush.
You can use this with a heavy hand or a lighter touch as you’ll see from my photos below the options allow for a more delicate pay off or one with a bit more vibrancy when using a heavier hand. If you want to concentrate on one shade of color you can easily do so however I prefer swishing my brush in all four shades and tapping onto my cheeks!
The price is $46 which could prove a tad too high for some however those used to purchasing high end will feel it’s a quality product at a rather good deal. I personally felt the price wasn’t too bad at all but that’s just my opinion which of course will vary from person to person.
Nothing bad here, a perfect blush to me!
- Guerlain fans and lovers (this feels like a very, unique special product from Guerlain particularly because they don’t concentrate on blushes as much as I’d like them to!).
- Anyone who favors shades of coral or peach (if you like NARS Orgasm, Coralista, Etc….you’ll adore Noire)
- Anyone who wants a golden kiss of color for Spring!
- Those who aren’t keen on splurging near $50 on a single blush!
I absolutely adored this and felt it was one the more unique shades of golden coral I have in my personal collection. I can easily see myself hitting pan on the shade and have considered and mused over a possible back up before it’s gone for good. The shade just begs to be used throughout all the seasons as it’ll work fabulous for Fall, Summer, and Spring!
Loves it!
