Illamasqua Precision Ink Alchemy Review, Swatches, Photos

The holidays may be over by I’m still all about sparkling shades of gold. Gold really helps lighten up my eyes and takes away the attention from dark circles, fine lines, and other scary eye woe. Gold just works well throughout the seasons doesn’t it? I can’t think of a single season which gold can’t be incorporated in, can you? Summer, Spring, Fall, the Holidays…you name it and you can def get away with some gorgeous gold!

Illamasqua Precision Ink in Alchemy fits the bill for sparkling gold….

Check it!

A sparkling gold precise eyeliner.

If you’re a bit on the clumsy side with liquid eyeliner, hey, raise your hand! Mine is waving wildly in the air right now! You’ll love Illamasqua Precision Ink, completely fool proof! It has a felt tip precise point which makes liquid lining an absolute breeze. Quite a great one for the n00bs and the advanced liquid liners alike! The tip glides across your lash line quickly, easily, sans tugging, fuss, or drama. Absolutely adore the lovely thin tip! Such a snap to use.

Now Alchemy is a special color indeed. This is a sparkling gold shade that adds just the right amount of lit gold to eyes. This works great with brown shades of shadows, golds, bronzes, or even blues! Simply do up your normal shade and swipe this across your lash line for a sparkle of gold. Absolutely adore the shade and the super easy application!

Price wise, at $27.50, I’m definately feeling the ouchie factor here, shave off five fifty and I’d be happier Illamasqua!

  • Those wanting foolproof eyeliner (the thin, felt tip makes application super easy and precise!)
  • Those wanting a bit of gold added to an eye look (swipe it across your lash line for a bit of golden pop!).

  • Anyone unwilling to dish out near $30 on eyeliner (ouch!).

Definitely loving this one and felt like it deserved a Muse Approval but the price prevented me from giving it a full yay! $20-$22 would be much more reasonable. Aside from that I’m a loving the gold plus the tip, for fools like me, makes for super easy application!

Likey lots!

Anyone try or own?

I’ve heard this an exact dupe for MAC’s Superslick Liquid Eyeliners. Personally I have MAC’s gold version, Pure Show, and it looks near identical, if not completely identical, to this. And at nearly $10 cheaper I would definitely choose MAC.

    • the Muse

yup have that one too jessi although this felt a bit brighter than pure show 🙂

I LOVE felt tip eyeliners! They’re just so simple and easy to use! I was almost going to get one of these in black a few weeks ago cause its like a super waterproof version of my lancome artliner 🙂

I got this and compared it to MAC’s Pure Show and they are the same thing in every way. And MAC is cheaper. Never thought I’d hear myself say that!

    • the Muse

i got pure show too Amy ;-D thought this was a bit brighter than pure show to me..!?

You know, I feel like I can’t get away with a light colored eyeliner. I feel like I need the dark shades to define my eyes. What about you?

    • the Muse

hi neutral, def like lighter liners on my eyes, actually went into a few details why I like gold in particularly in this post 🙂

    Hihi!!

I’m not sure if you knew this, but this is exactly the same or so close you really can’t tell the difference to Pure Show from MAC for $17.50. MAC even has more colors available than Illamasqua. =/

    • the Muse

yup tabi got pure show, love that one ;-D found that Illamasqua’s version was a bit brighter though ;D

Of course compared to a MAC it’s super expensive but I would rather buy this than a lipgloss from chanel or even guerlain I really want to buy the loreal hip metallic eyeliners the pigments look very intense.

I have Pure Show and love it. If this one’s a bit brighter I’d love to try it but at that price I think I’ll have to wait til I need a replacement gold liner. Do you know if this shade is permanent?

I made my first Illamasqua purchase recently, the Art of Darkness nail polish set. I was so impressed that I want to chec out more of the line!
