Is Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight Eye Shadow Primer a revamp of Too Faced First Base?

I’m going to take you back to my beauty past as I reminiscent about Too Faced First Base Eyeshadow Primer. Remember it? It was probably the first real primer I ever owned and I thought it was the shiz.

It was a sparkling gold base which I used to wear as a cream shadow to brighten my eyes up and I also enjoyed topping it with pigment because it created alot less fall out but lord knows it never really worked well at keeping shadows in place.

I’m a wondering if the new Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight Eye Shadow Primer is kinda a revamp of First Base in a cream formula….kinda makes sense doesn’t it?

Soft gold shade?

Shadow primer, base, and eyeshadow all in one?

Check, Check, Check.

Only difference I’m seeing is the tube packaging and cream formula of the new primer.

Looks like First Base and Candlelight have alot in common.

Review of Candlelight coming soon….

But what do you think?

Do you own First Base?

Getting the retro vibe here?

I just want to know if this is comparable to UDPP in Sin. I love Sin, hate the UDPP bottle.

  • 1/3/11 14:54 mon:

Wow, I can’t wait! I wonder how this and the new UDPP Greed will compare.

  • 1/3/11 15:31 Stefi:

Eeek, I can’t wait for your review. I love both the Candlelight powder and Shadow Insurance.

I am dying for your review. TFSI is my holy grail eye shadow primer. I’m curious if this works as well as TFSI.

thats so pretty ! if the candlelight primer looks anything like tht i’m sure i’ll love it. i just ordered in the “eye love romance” set from the faced website. it has the romantic eye palette, the two new eye primers, lashgasm mascara, and one of their new glittery things that looks like sparklicty. it was a pretty good deal for all that too. majorly looking forward to trying out all this spring stuff even though i made a resolution to buy less makeup and i look at me now… /rant lol

    • 1/4/11 9:08 the Muse:

I ordered that one too megan ;-D quite eager to get it! ha…I make the resolution every year never works out 😛 :D!

Looks like Too Faced’s response to UDPP Greed. I have high hopes for it, because although I like Greed – it creases like a mofo on me unlike regular UDPP. I also prefer Too Faced, so here’s hoping! :)

    • 1/4/11 9:07 the Muse:

sin does that for me maria 😛

  • 1/4/11 1:04 Christine:

Gold color? Check. Eye shadow primer? Check. Love it already? Check check.

  • 1/4/11 17:03 Becky:

Oh man, I hope it’s good.. They have a special set on their website for $45 that includes the new eyeshadow set and then like 4 other full size awesome. Screaming deal!! I’m really hoping it’s like UD’s greed.

I have never owned a primer, mainly because I never really needed them. I’m thinking about buying one from BYS… hopefully it’s good.

    • 1/5/11 9:50 the Muse:

hope it works out for you Jessica :)

I bought First Base to try it out during Too Faced’s super sales. I really like it for the more powdery less pigmented shadows. It sticks really well! I hope Candlelight doesn’t have the same separating issues as regular TFSI

    • 1/6/11 9:14 the Muse:

awesome chib…that’s one reason I hate TFSI, the separation issues drive me NUTS!
