Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette Truth Kat Von D Lock ‘N Load Makeup Setting Mist

Mmm a new Kate Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palettes makes it’s way to us this Spring plus a brand new setting mist.

Kat Von D Lock ‘N Load Makeup Setting Mist $24
Lock n’ Load is a weightless mist that locks down your look for up to 16 hours, so makeup stays rockin’ all day and night long. Its Temperature Control Technology prevents makeup from melting down when it’s warm and avoids dehydration and cracking when it’s cold. Ideal for all skin types, it won’t leave your skin feeling sticky or tight. It also works to prevent blush, eyeshadow and lip color from fading, sliding, caking, or becoming excessively shiny.

Lock ‘n Load will either really appeal to you or not. Personally mists that promise me 16 hours of make up wear have never successfully done the trick although I did have success with one of the Urban Decay Setting Sprays so I’ll keep hope alive that Lock ‘n Load works just as fabulously.

Whatcha think?

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette Truth $34
A new Spring 2011 rendition of the True Romance Eyeshadow Palette!

Includes Eyeshadows:

  • Sugar Skull (vanilla)
  • Long Distance (citron)
  • Snake Eyes (lime)
  • Finland (aqua, cream formula)
  • Prague (plum)
  • Galeano (pale lilac)
  • Rehab (golden tan)
  • Sister (peach)

I will say this is an instant buy for me since I really like the True Romance Palettes however the pastels aren’t appealing to me at the moment and the colors look a tad washed out but I’ll have to peep it in person before making any snappy decisions.

same marina. kinda trying to look at the good sides but there aren’t any LOL too pastel 🙁

  • Kelsey

    WHAT UP, MUSE!

I love Kat Von D’s makeup line, but these two? Eh.. I might skip, unless the mist is completely groundbreaking. There are so many setting sprays out there for a lot less than $24. And the palette.. As much as I love the palettes, I just don’t use bright colors. :\

    • the Muse

what up what up what up kel! long time no speak, you no love me anymore? ;-D can hope ground breaking ;-D but I always have issues with mists. Palette is such a let down, really doesn’t scream kat’s style…! 🙁

  • Missy

Ugh, if I used those, it would look like my eyes were bruised… not good colors for me with the exception of the plum. These don’t seem her usual style…

  • Jess

oOoo! Thanks for posting! I’ve been dying to know the colors of this palette ever since KvD posted a pic of it a few months ago (pathetic, i know, but I think you’ll understand haha)! This will DEFINITELY move in to my makeup drawer, but I almost can’t believe there is a cream shadow in here. They dry out so fast! I wish she would release her cream shadows in separate screw top containers or something. Do you know of a way to keep them from drying out or to refresh them?

    • the Muse

TOTALLY understand jess ;-D two creams looks like girl 🙁 no idea sadly aside from mixing with a little bit of water…but that just makes things a tad messy 🙁

  • Cj

I never really got setting sprays lol I mean how is spraying water on your face supposed to set your makeup? Maybe I’ll give it a try 🙂

Oh btw did you hear she just got engaged to Jesse James like… Yesterday lol

    • the Muse

I KNOW right? I’ve always said that LOL! ;-D I’m actually liking the UD one, I think it’s the mattifying one and it actually does work which surprised me ;D

      oh groan yes.

  • Cait

I really love the KVD palettes, but I don’t really like the cream ones they insist on sticking in there! You’re right; this doesn’t feel like Kat, and although I’d wear most of the colors, I will probably pass.

    • the Muse

ditto cait and ditto, the creams have to go 😛 I want it just for the sake of owning them all *hides in shame* ;D

  • allison1998 @ The Center of Attention

I am really not feeling this palette at all~the colors or the cream shadow that is included. Those colors would look great with OTHER colors, but not together in one palette. I will probably pass on this one.

    • the Muse

allison def, too pastel for me but have to see in person just to be safe ;D! you never know could prove awesome?!

  • Ellie

Her palettes look fab… but the colors in this would totally not work on me. Not to mention I just heard about her engagement to that nasty cheating Jesse James. Not gonna buy anything for her anytime soon.

  • Jen

I like the colors… I just agree with you they seem a little washed out. This is the most appealing Kat Von D item I’ve ever seen though… Obviously I’m not a big fan.

  • Phyrra

I love the look of Sugar Skull, Long Distance and Snake Eyes.
I really love how Kat looks in the promo pic up there.

  • Coral

I don’t know what colors exactly came to mind when I read True Romance, but those aren’t the colors I vaguely imagined. Usually I’m pining away at her palettes, with colors I probably won’t wear but really want. This time around I’m underwhelmed.

  • Becky

I already have UD All Nighter so I won’t be trying anything else out until that’s gone but can I just say that I LOVE this packaging like 500,000 times better than UD’s?

    Not feeling the palette..

  • Lori

hmmm, i really like her shadow palettes, but i think i’m skipping this one because i really dont like the cream shadow included, nor do i like the washed out colors (i feel like it’d be so much prettier if there’s a good bold deeper color to tie everything together)

  • Lauren

I have alot of KVD palletes and love them all but I think I’ll wait for swatches of this one before I make the plunge….

  • Beth

I am sad because I love love love the non-creams in her palettes BUT those shades will look sickly on me. Totally not digging them. At all. I MAY swatch but 99% am sure I will not buy.

  • Lorena

I love all things KVD, but this palette is a miss. I loathe cream shadows, and that’s what’s kept me from buying her palettes. LOVE her shadow duos though, but as much as I love her palettes, the creams turned me off. But this palette, bleh! The colors are so not like her style and it’s almost like they don’t even go together. Who knows though. Maybe I’ll change my mind once I see some swatches. I’m excite about spray though. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one to try!

  • LorraineER

I’m not loving the greens in the palette but the other colors look nice. I have the UD De-Slick spray and Fix + so I’ll probably skip her setting spray although I really like the bottle it comes in! lol.

  • katrosado5

The only color I find appealing is the Prague (plum) but that’s so dark for spring. I lost my mind this week and actually put a silicone primer on my face, I have an acne cyst so show for it now. UGH. I’ll forgo the spray. I’m gun shy LOL

    • the Muse

ugh sorry to hear it katros ;( I get tiny pimples when I use silicone too lol!

  • Emily

I think I just might have to buy both things. I’m hopeful the setting mist actually works. If not the bottle will look pretty cool on my vanity anyway.

    • the Muse

emily def wants the mist too and hopefully it’ll be fab. debating on the palette myself ;D!

  • theRothstanator

The colors are a bit weird, but I will def. be getting this since Sugar Skull is probably my favorite colors of her line (I was sad it didn’t come with her holiday palette). The one from the Momento Mori palette has a huge dip in it even though I have tons of eyeshadows. I also think that I am gonna have to get all of the limited edition ones from now on. I still have been kicking myself over not getting the Gypsy palette and have been looking everywhere for it for like a year 🙁

  • Bonnie

Hmmm. You know how much I love the Kat Von D palettes, so I will probably get this…but not loving it as much as the others.
