L’Occitane Almond Apple Cleansing Oil Review
Part of L’Occitane Almond Apple Cleansing Oil’s appeal is fact it’s so readily available, cheap, and seemed like it would smell amazing! Add to that the fact that L’Occitane dubs it a great one for dull skin and hell, I was on board!
Let’s have a look shall we!
A cleansing oil for removing makeup!
This comes in a near 7oz bottle for $22 so it was definitely an appealing option because of its price plus it smells like fresh apples, that always helps when I’m buying skincare. I love stuff that smells fab. Some folks are sensitive and can’t use product on their face that has fragrance but I don’t mind in the least The scent isn’t quite crunchy or as crisp as a fruity apple due to the almond but you still get wisps of both apple and almond and just an overall fresh, fruity smell! Quite nice!
This is thinner compared to other cleansing oils I have however it seems to do the trick and washes clean away removing makeup with little effort. To use simply massage onto your dry face, wet hands and massage to emulsify the oil, and finally rinse with water.
Not too bad however…
The bottles does say to avoid contact with eyes. I, of course, took this with a grain of salt and thought they simply meant to not go around pouring it directly into your eyes however they literally mean avoid contact with your eyes or feel the sting!
If I can’t use the product around my eye area it’s quite useless to me particularly when it comes to cleansing oil and sadly I must avoid my eyes with this as it seems to irritate them rather badly, inflames them, and just causes major woe.
Do not want!
- Anyone who doesn’t use cleansing oil near there eye area and wants a cheaper oil they can easily purchase.
- Those who are sensitive to fragrance and scented skincare.
- Those who have sensitive eyes or even those who aren’t (I’m not sensitive and this stung the bejesus out of my eyes).
This would have proven a decent cleansing oil if it wasn’t for the fact that it really killed my eyes. After use my eyes were red and swollen for a few hours and felt like they had something in them. At the time I didn’t use the oil in my eyes but did massage my eyes with the oil to remove left over eye makeup, BAD idea. This was entirely my fault for disregarding the instructions however I do think a cleansing oil I can’t use near my eyes is a bit pointless.
No likey!
Anyone try it?
Love it?
