MAC Wonder Woman Blush Review, Swatches, Photos

Out of all the goodies released with MAC Wonder Woman I have to say the Powder Blush Duos are turning into my favorite pieces. Even though they fail to remind me of Wonder Woman, I still adore both shades.

Check ’em!

Each duo is made up of large section of lighter blush and a smaller strip in a deeper shade. The design is an interesting split and I can understand why they decided to go smaller with it for Mighty Aphrodite as it’s lighter versus deeper however for Amazon Princess it’s an entirely other story.

Mighty Aphrodite is by far my favorite as it’s made up of a soft coral peach and a bright, sunny shade of rich apricot. Combined you get a soft focused peach on cheeks, it’s gorgeous! It really lights my cheeks up and makes them glow.

Those who remember Azalea Blossom from MAC Spring Forecast will get right on board with Amazon Princess. This is rich shade of brighter purple-ish pink with a deeper shade of purple pink. Although it looks scary in the pan it applies quite subtly depending on how heavy you are with your hand and leaves behind a glowing pink on cheeks and face.

The blushes don’t swatch very well and product seems difficult to pick up however with a bushy brush it seems to adapt easily and blends dreamy on cheeks.

Both seem like very unique keeper items to me plus the fact they are nearly double the size of a normal blush makes them a great value at $24 versus $18.50.

I loved both and think they are well worth a haul.

In this case I’d say Mighty Aphrodite definitely reminds me a bit of Wonder Woman.

Are either blushes on your Wonder Woman Wish List?

I definitely think that these are probably the most wearable items in the WW collection. They’re super cute too!

LOVING Mighty Aphrodite! It’s the only real item from the Wonder Woman Collection I think I’m excited about.

Hey Muse, is the gold around the compact sprayed on or is it plastic itself gold? I would hate for it to rub off : (

Funny how they released blushes as part of the collection when the picture of her on the packaging seems to have nary a trace of blush on her cheeks ^^” :] but omg I want another blush (all I have so far is NARS orgasm…)

jen I was thinking maybe the peach kinda mimics her look!? maybe?! sorta??? ;-D

  • Patone Color

The Mighty Aphrodite is the perfect look for a spring day (and since I live in LA- every day is Spring between November and May). What do you think would be a good eyeshadow to pair with it?

    • the Muse

patone not sure yet haven’t tried it but maybe some sort of glowy peach, pink shadow. haven’t really looked through my stash for good shades to use with it but I’m thinking some sort of pretty nude eye look with it ;D!

Wow Mighty Aphrodite is beautiful! One question tho, how much of the shimmer/sheen comes through when your wearing it? I kinda failed at picking a blush when I was at Mac 2 weeks ago 🙁 I picked pinch o peach, looked really nice in the store but when I got home I realized it’s just a regular pink, I was looking for more of a soft natural flush color.

cj thankfully not too much shimmery sheen but you have to blend out well to avoid this. completely can relate since I can’t wear frosty stuff like this on my cheeks and this def has an underlay of frosty sheen. But with proper blending you should be good to go! please tell me you have orgasm? and super o? those are the best peaches evers ;D

I’ve actually never tried them, or anything from NARS lol, I’m thinking about checking out Mac Dainty, It’s a really nice warm pinky-peach color and the shimmer isn’t that noticeable 🙂 People say it’s pretty similar to Orgasm.

dainty is gorg ;-D you must must get some orgasm! it’s gorg cj ;-D nothing like it imho!

  • Liz!

    Hey Muse!
Been lovin’ your blog for some time now, but this is the first time I’ve been too un-lazy to comment lol! I am SO excited for this collection, and am definitely lemming Mighty Aphrodite hardcore! I’m also really excited to see the Pink Power MSF in person, it looks wicked pretty 😀

hi liz aw thanks for coming out of lurkdom today girl! ;-D both are brilliant hun! well worth the haul! particularly MA!!!!!!!!

  • Ashley

Hi Muse! Do you think Mighty Aphrodite would work on a darker skin tone such as my own? I’m NC-50 =]

    • the Muse

I’m not too versed in mac shades ashley but you might have a prob pulling off MA…perhaps as a highlighter but not a full on blush? or maybe use a kabuki to buff in that might lean more color pay off, but don’t quote me ;-D I’m not an expert on mac’s color range ;D!
