Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush Review, Swatches, Photos
So far I haven’t had too much success with the Happy Booster Collection from Physicians Formula. The bronzer wasn’t my shade, too muddy and the transparent powder ended up being a tad too frosty for me….
But I’m not quite yet ready to give up so today I’m testing out Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush.
Good?
We’ll see!
A blush that sports a mood boosting formula!
As with the bronzer and powder this sports a violet scent and a mood boosting formula that’s supposed to mimic Endorphins to put you in a good mood. The violet scent is the key here I am guessing they thought the scent would act as an aromatherapy of sorts. I personally didn’t feel happy or happier after use but the idea is different and dare I say kinda cute. The scent of violet isn’t Guerlain’s traditional scent but leans towards being more rosy violet which can be a bit nauseating in some cases if you’re sensitive to fragrance in your product however it disappears quickly once applied.
Of course, part of its major appeal is the sweet heart design which runs rather deeply through the powder so one swipe won’t mess the design up. This is a dual compartment compact that houses the blush on top and a full size mirror and tray for the brush underneath.
The blush comes in two shades, Natural and Rose. I selected Rose since it seemed to pack the nicest punch of color and indeed, it does. This is a highly pigmented shade of rosy bright pink with reddish, fuchsia undertones. The shade won’t play nice with everyone but I liked it well enough. On me I get a really bright, bold dash of reddish pink on my cheeks. It can prove a bit clowny but blends out nicely and leaves behind a sizzling pop of color! I actually really like the results as it’s a just kissed or out of the cold finish on cheeks however some may find it’s a bit too overly done and in that case might wish to select the Natural color instead.
For application I find it’s best to swirl and tap. Swirling all around the powder yields the best results as sticking to one place will pick up too much of one color therefore creating a bit of a messy blend job!
You’re best results are using a brush of your own as the brush included is scratchy and sheds terribly.
The color proves gorgeous on my cheeks and will look amazing on medium, olive, or darker skin tones however really fair skin might want to go with the Natural color or those with redness in their cheeks will want to avoid the Rose shade altogether since it will give a clown-y finish.
Those sensitive to fragrance in their products might not play nice with the violet scent.
- Anyone who likes popping shades of bolder blushes.
- Anyone who wants a flush of sizzling reddish pink on cheeks.
- Olive or darker skin tones will love the color payoff on this!
- Those sensitive to fragrance in their facial products might not love the scent of the product.
- Those with redness on their face or cheeks.
- Super fair, creamy skin (this will give clown cheeks so best try the Natural finish for less vibrancy).
Overall, I loved this! I wasn’t impressed with the bronzer or face powder however the blush wins my hand! I loved how pigmented it was, enjoyed the beautiful heart design, and thought the overall product performed well for creating a pretty flush of color on my cheeks. Not everyone will love the Rose shade however the more lighter Natural color may prove a better choice.
Likey Lots.
Worth a pick up!
