Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio Review, Swatches, Photos

Physicians Formula has new trios of gel eyeliners available for Spring. These basically have to look of a MAC Technakohl with a swivel up design. At a price of $10.95 for three you’re getting quite a nice deal here so if you’re a budget shopper these might be one to check out.

Jump ahead for my thoughts!

A trio of gel eyeliners in various shades to compliment your eye color!

Each set features three shades of color to compliment brown, hazel, green, and blue eyes. As you know I’m not really one for selecting shades of color to flatter my eye color….it’s about what I like, what I think I look best in, now what company’s are telling me looks good….I did however choose the Brown Eyes Trio because those happened to be the shades I liked best.

Colors in the set are Espresso, Purple, and Black + Purple Shimmer. It’s a nice line up of colors you get however I’d like a set with the basics maybe…like black, brown…rather than going crazy with purple but none the less I don’t mind.

One main problem I have with swivel pencils is the lack of sharpener however Physicians Formula houses a nice tiny one in the end cap that you can use to easily get a fine point on a blunt pencil! Love them for including this as it’s a small extra that really gains points from me. Lack of a sharpener just peeves me so yay for including one!

Formula has a decently creamy texture, smudges easily, and wears long and strong. It doesn’t tug when applied and goes on smoothly sans drama plus wears well on the waterline but not long, it does fade away in a few hours and begs a touch up but no problems with smudging or raccoon eyes.

Price wise I don’t think you can come across a better deal. You’re getting three full size pencils for $10.95 which breaks up to less than $3.75 per pencil

They run a little drier than other pencils of this style that I own however at this price I’d call them not bad at all formula wise.

The tips kinda snaps off easily for some reason!

  • Anyone who likes MAC Technakohl.
  • Anyone who wants more for less (three eyeliners for $11 bucks? No better deal around!).
  • Anyone who wants variety (this includes a nice selection of various shades).

  • Those who want a super creamy liner pencil (these ran a little ickle dry but nothing too bad).

Beauty budget lovers will think this is a super steal and I can’t say nay to that, they really are a deal and a half. Formula isn’t AMAZING but it is pretty brilliant at this cost. They are worth a pick up if you go through gel eyeliners in a hurry or if you’re just seeking a cheaper version of MAC Technakohl. The formula smudges well, wears well, and just looks good on eyes plus I always find application with gel liners one of the easiest mediums to use when lining eyes.

Not bad at all!

Quite a nice one.

Worth a check out and a possible purchase.

Anyone try yet?

Did you wear these on the waterline at all, and if so, do they migrate easily?

Darnit! I was really hoping these would be like the Stila Smudge Sticks — Those liners, for a retractable one, last forever! I’ll still be giving them a shot though because I love PF. :]

    • the Muse

not quite Stila Smudge Sticks hun, bit drier in my opinion, but not bad either at this price ;D!

Speaking of sharpeners…maybe I’m not remembering correctly, but didn’t you say the Urban Decay 24/7 concealor pencils come with their own sharpener? I’ve never noticed one with mine. Thanks! 🙂

    • the Muse

no magnolia but they did last quite long without running around my eyes but depends on how oily your eye area is of course ;D
