Etude House Miss Tangerine LUCIdarling Fantastic Rouge Review, Swatches, Photos

More Etude House Miss Tangerine coming your way today! Hope you’re enjoying the coverage of this beauty abroad collection! Today I was messing around with the Etude House Miss Tangerine LUCIdarling Fantastic Rouge. LUCIdarling Fantastic Rouge is not a new product but the packaging has been revamped and two new shades have been released themed around the Miss Tangerine Collection.

The main shade, as you may have guessed, is a tangerine orange and the other a mod-ish pink. They are paired up with the looks that you can create with the new eyeshadow quads from the collection.

Let’s have a little peek!

A moisturizing lipstick from Korean brand, Etude House!

Depending on how you see it, you’ll either be delighted with the packaging or deem them a bit on the childish side. Packaging for me is darling as they come housed in a plastic peachy tube that has a lightweight feel however I can understand those with more sophisticated tastes in makeup might see them as being a bit immature and dare I say toy-like. They kinda remind me of a tube of lipstick that you’d get with a makeup kit for a little girl but I like ’em regardless!

Don’t quote me but one of the shades, Fresh Pink, might have already been released prior and just repackaged. I ordered both because I was kinda suckered into the promo images but I can’t actually wear Fresh Pink sadly as it’s a bit too mod for me. Sad sigh. But I’m going to try to add some tinted lipglass and hope for the best!

The other shade Coral Tangerine is also equally unwearable for me. I was hopeful this would be a softer shade of orange however it’s full on pigmented tangerine. It’s pretty neon-like and crazy for me. Some folks can rock the orange trend but I happen to be not one sadly that’s why I was kinda hopeful that this shade would be softer, but no luck. It’s definitely a hardcore orange!

Aside from the colors I already own a few of the LUCIdarling Fantastic Rouges and I love them. The formula is glides on like butter and has a super hydrating feel with a glossy finish. Color pay off is shiny, creamy finish that hugs lips and keeps them moisturized as it wears. The wear time varies from shade to shade for me but can’t yet speak for the wear on these two colors from the collection.

Great formula, great packaging, but sadly the two shades released with the Miss Tangerine Collection are a tad difficult for me to pull off and I feel like most people will find them unwearable.

Sadly, Etude House is sold within Korea and a few other select Asian countries so a little online searching and shopping is required!

  • Anyone who loves mod pinks!
  • Anyone wanting to embrace the orange trend (this is a beautiful shade of tangerine).
  • Those who love cute makeup items!

  • Those who can’t quite pull off mod, pure pink shades.
  • Anyone who can’t wear neon shades of orange!
  • Those who aren’t interested in tracking down product online and dealing with airmail (these are sold exclusively in Korea).

Although I really wanted to love these, the shades simply won’t work for me. I’m going to try to tame them with some lipglass and see what “new” shade I can create. Great formula, fab packaging, but the colors just aren’t doing the trick here!

Anyone hauling them?

Hauled them already?

Can you pull off orange?

Share it!

i heard that EH will be releasing this new collection here in my country next month. im not really an EH fan but then i might have to check that pink lipstick!

i hope that it doesn’t make the teeth “yellow-er”… i have MAC Viva Glam Gaga & it made my teeth turned 3 shades yellow-er!
    eeekkkkk!!!!
    >_<

  • Melissa

Wow – i need both of these. Bright bold 80’s-ish lippies are so in my dreams right now. Can I find these on flea-bay? I didn’t have any searches show up.

    • the Muse

def melissa! evil-bay has tons ;-D just put in “Miss Tangerine” as your search and you’ll find a ton of listings!

  • Asuka

I love them! I didn’t expect them to be creamy and pigmented.
I’ ll definitely haul this Tangerine collection. 🙂
    Thanks, Muse; nice review!

    • the Muse

my pleasure asuka glad to you enjoyed the review. I don’t sell makeup on Musings hun. Sorry :-/ plus it’s used so doubt you want it 🙂

  • Asuka

Nice review, Muse! I planned to buy one of them. If you don’t like them, would you sell them to me? Could I contact you for the price plus international shipping rates? I have paypal.

I think orange lipcolour suits asian or olive skintones better?
I kinda shy away from orangey shades though.:D

  • MMM

So what will you do with the unwearable blushes? They look perfect for darker and tanned skintones.

  • Asuka

An observation, from my experience: Bright Orange lip colors look sophisticated and balanced when I have applied on face all pink products – pink eyeshadow, pink blush, even pink-undertoned foundation. On the other hand, bright pink looks equally balanced when everything else on face has orange or brown hues.

From twitter, I saw that you hail from NYC (like me!). Do you know if there are any shops in Korea town that carry this brand? I’m very interested in checking it out, but not sure if i want to go all out and order it from overseas. Thanks!

    • the Muse

Jess I’ve never seen any in Korea town sadly. I’ve seen various Asian brands all over Flushing but most is skincare and never full color cosmetics hun! I’d kill for Etude House to be available so locally! If I ever find it local I’ll shout my fellow new yorker ;D!

  • Robin

Maybe try mixing the pink and tangerine together Muse. I did that with my NYX pink and orange cream blushes and the resulting shade is so much prettier and more wearable.

    • the Muse

that’s a good idea robin ;-D so far I tried the tangerine with mac pink grapefruit and it looks kinda nice ;-D I’ve been mixing and matching a few glosses with it to make it more wearable ;D

i just purchased this lippie a few days ago and i had to make my reservation since it’s EH’s best seller here in the PH. color is great, kinda creamy and super bright! neon can really pop out in blacks and can hype a dress down mode. the only dissatisfaction about this lippie is that it wears off when smoking and eating, so retouching is necessary :))
