Everyday Minerals Sunlight Color Corrector Review & Swatches
I’m really a big fan of Skin Food Salmon Dark Circle Powder. It’s one of my HG (holy grail) products for brightening my eyes up and holding my concealer in place for all day wear. I actually recently discovered a product that works just as well but prior to that I tried out Everyday Minerals Sunlight Color Corrector as a reader had mentioned it was even better than Salmon Dark Circle Powder.
Gasp!
Really? Better?! How could this be? I instantly ordered it to see for myself and…
A loose mineral powder for fair to medium skin tones that’s yellow tinted and corrects dark under eyes circles or dark spots (such as sun damage) on your face.
Without a doubt this was a great offering as it was a huge jar for $8 that I could easily get right here in the USA rather than dealing with costly airmail shipping to get Skin Food’s version from Korea.
However, that’s about the extent of the good!
The powder is awfully strange. It has a very scratchy quality and applies and blends rather uncomfortably under my eyes. It’s as if it’s made up of a mineral powder and some crunchy fine pieces mixed it. Strange texture that feels very grainy to me. I thought it blended awful and accentuated fine lines badly plus I noticed very little in the ways of concealing or brightening up the darkness I have under my eyes.
I love the generous size however they house it in a rather large flat jar which makes for really messy application. This would be ideal if I was buffing the product into my face as the lid offers a large size working area to buff and tap however for my eyes I don’t need as much product and I find I’m chasing around a small bit of powder in an overly large lid!
- No one!
- Anyone with fine lines (this seems to bring them out for the worst).
- Those wishing to set concealer (I didn’t feel like it blended well enough to offer any real setting power as it began to crease and look badly after application).
- Those wanting a dupe of Skin Food’s powder.
Sadly, this was a bust for me. At $8 for such a generous size I was quite excited to try it and hopefully replace my Skin Food version with it but sadly this cannot live up to that product at all.
No likey!
Has anyone tried this before?
