Fusion Beauty Prime Results Brightening Primer Review, Swatches, Photos
My skin is pretty dull so I’m always looking for various ways to keep it bright eyed and bushy tailed. A lilac base or primer is always a great way to get your skin looking whiter, fresher, and brighter however it also can be easily over done. The Asian market embraces lilac in alot of various base products to brighten and whiten skin however you don’t see a ton of them here in the US.
I was quite interested to see the Fusion Beauty Prime Results Primers which contained a lilac, brightening primer that had me excited to give it a whirl. The collection also features three other primers to combat acne, redness, and an anti-wrinkle formula as well. I got the chance to try out the Brightening Primer which interested me the most.
Let’s check it out!
A primer with Chromabright and Licorice combat photo-aging and UV damage that promise a better complexion in 30 days. Brightening ingredients promise to help improve skin radiance, minimize skin discoloration and dullness.
This comes in a generous 1 oz size with a pump applicator. No worries the pump distributes just the right amount of product and you aren’t left with a gob of makeup spurted out from a tricky little pump.
This isn’t going to be your primer of choice if you have oily skin however those with dry skin will adore it. The formula is thick, creamy, and hydrating. The shade is a dull, dirty shade of lilac so it’s not a traditionally true shade of soft lilac but more of a duller color. It has a light, fresh floral scent that’s quite subtle but if you’re sensitive you might want to do a little test prior to indulging.
Unlike typical lilac primers I’ve tried in the past this doesn’t whiten but it does subtly brighten skin. It absorbs super quickly, hydrates my skin beautifully, and sets the stage for my makeup. As I’m dry with very non visible pores this is the ideal primer for my skin type as it hydrates my flaky skin and creates a smoother layer for my makeup to adhere too. However, those with oily skin and larger pores won’t really see the benefits here.
The thing I like most about the primer is it doesn’t leave behind an unnatural whitening effect. It subtly brightens my skin and eases dullness and does so without a white cast. Mind you, I’ve never minded the whitish cast of Asian primers of the same kind but I think this is a better adjustment for those unfamiliar with the effects of lilac and how it works plus the Western market would simply not be interested in anything that whitened but highly interested in something that brightened which this does.
It promises to blur minor imperfections but my skin is pretty clear so can’t really speak about what it is or isn’t blurring. I haven’t seen any noticeable improvement in 30 days of use but can easily see my skin looking less dull when I do use it. Also it promises to minimize unevenness with daily use but again haven’t experienced this.
It doesn’t keep my foundation from oxidizing sadly but Fusion doesn’t promise that, merely sold as a brightening primer.
- Those with certain dullness looking for a way to brighten their skin up!
- Those with dry skin (this is creamy and hydrating)
- Those with oily skin!
- Those with larger pores (this probably won’t do the trick at concealing larger pores).
- Those unwilling to dish out the big bucks for a primer (The $42 price tag isn’t cheap).
Overall, Fusion Beauty Prime Results Brightening Primer was a good experience and I’d probably purchase it again, hey, anything to ease my dullness. My skin looks better when uses in conjunction with a good base and the hydrating feel of the product is a plus on my dry, tired skin. It’s worth a check out if you’re in the market for a new primer. Of course, you don’t need to indulge in the Brightening Formula, you can choose the anti-aging, redness, or acne formulas as well to suit your skin type and condition.
