Hard Candy Glossaholic Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches

Missed out on MAC Wonder Lipglasses? Or maybe already hauled ’em and wish MAC made them in more shades?

No worries, Hard Candy Glossaholic Lipgloss has you covered.

Check it!

A gloss with reflective prisms of pearl to make lips sparkle like crazy and a large applicator that slicks gloss on in one stroke!

So best news here? The price and size. Budget shoppers will love the fact that Hard Candy Glossaholic is actually BIGGER than MAC’s Wonder Lipglass and has a smaller price tag.

0.38 oz of gloss resides in this tube versus MAC’s 0.37 oz size. The price? A sweet $5 bucks versus $20 bucks at MAC! How crazy is that? There are eight shades to choose from but I sadly only got one to try out but damn straight I’ll be hauling the other 7 at this price.

I played around with the shade Gorgeous which is a sweet pink with micro fine pieces of red pearl. At first I was a bit worried about the amount of “bits” in the formula as the pearl pigment appears to be chunky glitter but it doesn’t apply gritty or grainy on my lips and gives a nice catch of sparkle. Although Gorgeous is very pretty in the tube it wears opaque on my lips aside from the tiny pieces of pearlish sparkle which reflects reddish pink on my lips.

The applicator is huge just like MAC’s Wonder Lipglasses. I absolutely love it as one stroke saturates lips easily with plenty of gloss to give them nice shine and a glossy finish. Everyone should embrace these cool applicators as they fit the contour of lips so wonderfully and apply a generous helping of gloss without having to re-dip to get the desired results.

The gloss formula doesn’t run as sticky or as tacky as MAC’s version. It’s lightweight, eels comfortably on, and has a sweet vanilla taste that’s way more pleasant to my mouth than MAC’s traditional vanilla flavor.

The gloss wear time isn’t too strong and you’re looking at about three hours of wear as it tends to glide away rather quickly.

  • Anyone who missed out on MAC Wonder Lipglass or simply couldn’t afford MAC’s version.
  • Anyone wanting alot more for alot less (this is a HUGE amount of gloss for a mere $5 bucks!).
  • Students, teens, or beauty budgeters!
  • Gloss-a-holics!

  • Anyone wanting a long wearing lipgloss (wear time was a bit weak but nothing I couldn’t deal with at this price).
  • Those wanting a pigmented lipgloss (I only tried one shade so far but it was pretty weak in the color pay off department).

Overall, Hard Candy Glossaholic gets a huge rave and Muse Approval from me. It’s surreal they are charging a mere $5 bucks for such a large amount of gloss. The formula is quite nice, the flavor is lovely, and I adore the larger applicator. I felt like the gloss was one of the best budget picks I’ve seen in a very long time plus they have a decent amount of colors to choose so you’ll have a bit of variety in your lipgloss budget life.

Absolutely adored these and felt they were well worth a haul!

Anyone try ’em yet?

What did you think?

Hard Candy Glossaholic is available exclusively at Walmart. I haven’t personally seen them at my local Walmart yet but I hope to soon so keep your eyes peeled!

As if “flakie” nail polish wasn’t awesome enough, now we have flakies in lipglosses! Weee 😀

I just got my first ever HC haul at Wally World yesterday based on your reviews – got the tinted moisturizer, undercover agent concealer, the moon glow powder, and the sheer envy primer (know you didn’t like it, but I do favor silicone-y primers), and I threw in one of these lip glosses just for the fun of it. But, I don’t know if the gloss got lost in the shopping cart or what, but it never made it back home with me (didn’t get charged for it, so guess it popped out in the store). I was a little hesitant given the very large pieces of glitter flakes in the tube, which seem apparent in your swatch – a la Goldschlager (which I find to be a very nasty liquor), . Were they very apparent on your lips? How does this compare to Lorac 3D, which I love love love.

BTW, I really like everything I got so far, but moon glow I would say is the most fantastic purchase and would get more on-line, but it’s all sold out.

aw sorry christine! Go back get one 😀 they are fab! Mmm yes, they kinda give a pretty reflective look! Lorac has WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more flaky/glittery bits though. I love Moon Glow too ;-D really a fab little product!! so happy with your goodies, good haulin’! How’d you like the new concealer?!

      • Christine

Thanks muse, now I’ve got to get this for sure. I haven’t had a chance to properly try out the concealer, but I do hope it eases the eye puffiness as it did for you…I have a bit of dark circles, but it is really the undereye puffiness that is the bane of my existence 😛

same for me christine, might I ask your age? Mine seemed to hit after 30 :-/

          • Christine

I’m in my early 30s too, and it seemed to appear about the time I hit 30 too – at least that’s when I started really noticing it. No amount of creams, eye masks, tea bags, cucumber slices, what have you seem to make much of a dent :(. I might try lowering sodium in my diet, but I do love salty foods.

same here Christine. I tried alot of different remedies including expensive eye creams but nothing seems to work. I do notice the more sleep I get the better my eyes look. I tried drinking alot of water as well plus avoiding salt but it actually didn’t help. I think it might be eye strain as well do to hours on the computer both for work and for my site. My right eye is worst than my left one 😛 Sigh! My best bet is try to get get eight hours in a night but that normally doesn’t happen :-/ I hope it helps. It def wasn’t OMG results but it did make them look a bit better ;-D

Aaah! This is gorgeous! Thank you so much, Muse, for posting this review. I was wondering about these glosses (Hard Candy can be hit or miss). This is totally a hit. I dig the MAC Wonder Woman Lipglasses in their giant tubes. Affordable makeup in more shades? Hot.

    • the Muse

my pleasure fey!!!!!! ;-D I think you’ll love these ;D wished for a little more pigment but overall such a hit for me!

  • Wendy

Ooooh this is pretty! I want to try it out. Does it have the same stopper issue as the WW lipglasses? I wanted Wonder Woman but the stopper constantly getting stuck really irritated me, so I passed on it.

    • the Muse

Wendy it kinda takes a wriggle to get it out of the tube but nothing too bothersome 🙂

  • winni

I don’t know how I originally missed this post . But I don’t like the one I got…it was a clear one that had botanicals to make me “relaxed”. Instead I ended up looking like I had just made out with a my little pony! The glitter was huge…more like sequins. But based on this review I’m gonna try one of the pigmented ones. I love all of the other HC stuff tho!

  • Stephanie

I think it’s interesting that more people seem to like the idea of this, but to me, it seems pretty similar to the MAC superglasses (which a lot of people thought was childish), except less sticky!

  • Nessa

I got this exact color, I think, and the vanilla one with purple and blue sparkles when I picked up Undercover Agent. I love the vanilla one! It says it’s mood enhancing as well. Whatevs! It just wonderful! It smells fantastic, too!

  • Hollipop

I love these! I have Rise and Shine, Chil Out, and Lush. All are pretty and smell great. The only bad thing is that the huge chunks a’ glitter stay cemented to ur lips after the gloss wears off. It’s like glitter glue 😮
