Hard Candy Undercover Agent Undereye Brightener & Concealer Duo Review, Swatches, Photos

Although drying, I had pretty good success with Hard Candy Glamoflauge and I honestly wasn’t expecting a new concealer from the brand so soon after the release of Glamoflauge.

But here we are a few months later and a brand new concealer to discover from the brand. Hard Candy Undercover Agent Undereye Brightener & Concealer Duo not only addresses my dark circles but also my puffiness in one easy to use concealer.

Any good?

Let’s check it out and see!

Hard Candy Undercover Agent Undereye Brightener & Concealer Duo tackles all your under woes with a concealer and a brightening, de-puffing gel, all in one tube!

At first glance I was a little skeptical of this as the entire idea of a Brightener and a De-puffer along with my concealer, well, I’ve tried ALOT of eye creams that promise to depuff and brighten but none work.

The tube is a tad irritating at first as well since it contains a small concealer stick on the head of the cap (kinda like a lip balm) and a tube of the brightening agent. I’m not one for concealer sticks as I find they are drying in formula however count me surprised on this little guy.

First off, the dome shape of the concealer fits brilliantly under my eyes so I can swipe on and blend out with my fingertips. The formula ranges in the zone of being partly dry and partly hydrating. So it’s not CRAZY emollient but it isn’t terribly dry either, it kinda falls in between the two textures and comes across as an every so slightly moisturizing concealer with a firmer texture. Speaking as someone with dry eyes I can safely say this doesn’t crease into fine lines nor does it cake or age my eyes. It applies beautifully well and blends out quite nicely however you might want to blame it on the Brightener for the smoother finish which aids the concealer in applying easily. The concealer isn’t crazy pigmented but the medium shade seems to have just the right amount of peach in it to diminish dark circles and concealer woe in a snap.

Now…

The Undereye Brightener sounds like a gimmick because as I mentioned I’ve pretty much tried many eye creams that have promised the same but I honestly feel like this actually depuffed my eyes a little and made them more awake and refreshed. At first I didn’t notice anything but within an hour I could see the puffiness under my eyes was minimal and my eyes looked quite refreshed for someone who didn’t get much sleep over the weekend! The formula seems to look alot like the Hard Candy Eye Primer. It’s a milky, gel-like texture that absorbs easily under the eye and dries down quickly but it seems to create a nice hydrating finish under my eyes and makes a decent prep for the concealer.

I thought the concealer was a little awkward situated on top of the tube as every time I unscrew or screw the lid on I keep bumping the concealer and causing a bit of a messy situation with the cap.

  • Anyone who needs brighter, fresher, less tired looking eyes!
  • Those seeking a budget concealer that actually works!
  • Younger eyes that need to conceal dark circles and depuff them due to late nights!

  • Those who aren’t keen on dual packaging (the packaging is a little messy and awkward).
  • Very mature, older eyes with delicate skin (those who have very delicate skin under their eyes may wish to avoid as the formula isn’t forgiving in this area, I’d suggest for those in their teens to those up to their 40’s but not beyond).

I absolutely loved this and felt like it was kinda one of those products you might pass up on because of the packaging or the price but it honestly turned into a love! The packaging is a bit on the messy side of things but aside from that I thought both the concealer and the undereye brightener worked brilliantly well! I tried out medium since I had such issues with Glamoflauge being a little TOO light for me and it actually worked out perfectly well!

Overall, it feels like a YOU need this type of item and definitely deserves a full Muse Approval.

Loves it!

So there’s more brightener than concealer right? That’s what I can tell from the package anyways. I’d actually rather have the brightener! I don’t have very puffy eyes but I can definitely use whatever makes them less dark!

    • the Muse

not really eve. you’ll prob go through the brightener before the concealer I think. hope this helps!

  • Carolanne

so you just get that little nub of concealer and the rest of the tube is the brightener??

      • Donna

You really think so? I was thinking like Carolanne that I’d go through that little nub way before the big tube of brightener. But do you think you use more of the brightener and not really that much of the concealer?

        • the Muse

donna totally think you’ll go through the brightener quicker ;-D It looks tiny but it’ll last ;-D! haha we should have a race see which one we finish first!

  • Stacie

I am so glad that you reviewed this! I am always on the hunt for my HG concealer.

    • Nessa

Same here! thanks, Muse! Definitely gonna buy this next time I head over there. Is it in stores now?

      • the Muse

nessa no luck here, I went to the evil empire a few days ago but reports are coming in that indeed, it is in stores so keep checking ;D!

  • Josie

Ohhh can’t wait to try this although i’m still waiting for teh Glamoflauge to hit the walmarts here in Canada! The tube does look awkward but all that matters if it work or not!

    • the Muse

Josie I really like this one wow can’t believe glamoflauge hasn’t arrived yet damn ;(

  • Halifax

We haven’t even got Glamouflage in Walmart Canada yet, now you got me wanting this one too. It’s gonna be a long wait 🙁

  • Musebeliever

I need this ! Studying for the bar exam makes me look like a vampire ! xDDD

  • Courtney

I may have to try this. I absolutely love Glamoflauge to cover blemishes and scarring (I formerly used MUFE full coverage concealer but this stuff is a great dupe for a lot less) but I’m still on the lookout for a great undereye concealer. I may have to give this one a whirl. Thanks!

  • Wendy

Really want to try this and Glamoflauge now! Unfortunately all of my local Walmarts that carry this line are not only insanely disorganized and dirty, but also never restock this. It always looks like Vietnam in the Hard Candy section, booooo! Maybe I can get someone to CP it haha

    • the Muse

wendy I run into the same issues here, it’s awful 😛 Ask around a makeup forum guaranteed someone would be willing to help ;D!

  • Alisa

I have the glamoflauge and it works wonders EXCEPT under my eyes. It sort of looks fake and cakey. I’m going to see if my Walmart carries this. I’ve been looking for stuff for my eyes.

Do you love anything else by Hard Candy that I should try out? Might as well pick up everything at once lol.

BTW, you’re such a bad influence. Always showing new goodies I shouldn’t be buying haha.

    • the Muse

alisa I think it’s drying too! just prep really well and you can get a good smooth, flawless finish ;-D

look through some my archives for ideas: https://www.musingsofamuse.com/category/hard-candy

also check out the new lipglosses, they are kinda HUGE like the Wonder Woman ones, I tried one so far and LOVED IT ;-D

      Hope this helps!

aw hehe I love spending your $$ ;D! ha!

  • Leah

The concealer is so tiny! Think it’ll actually last a while? I’m a college student, so I basically look like a zombie o.o

Tried the glamoflage and liked it 🙂 too bad it was TOO light for me. Should have went with the medium I think.

What do you think is the best eye cream?

    • the Muse

same here leah too light but medium was too dark ;-D I constantly change my eye cream at the moment I really like the triple treatment eye cream from BE but they axed it :-/ ugh!

  • Asuka

Muse, I have recently adopted a new method to conceal my dark circles and add brightness. Instead of a concealer product, I use a colour corrector. Blue toned dark circles need a red-toned base (you’ve already tried the salmon colour by Skinfood), like apricot and pink. If the circles are brownish, then a lavender corrector would be appropriate. Over the base, you apply foundation. Then, you achieve a natural look. Putting concealer on top is an option, but I find that it appears heavy, and the eyes are burdened and wrinkles form. So I use a powder highlighter, if I want them lit. You have reviewed some concealer-setting powders here; I haven’t tried them yet, because I’ m very pleased already with Japanese brands’ highlighters. Unlike the highlighters with strange colours that Western brands offer, these are especially for the “C-zone” – that’ s how they call the under-eye area. All Japanese brands have them, and they are usually part of a blush duo.

Suggesting you products and brands would be risky, because you need to find something that applies wonderfully on your skin and counters your exact colour of dark circles.

I bought this concealer tonight, I’m 47 and finding something that doesn’t cake or emphasize the wrinkles under my eyes is a plus. I totally recommend this for ladies who have dark circles/puffy eyes and/or wrinkles.

It went on smoothly and honest to goodness it does not emphasize the age lines on my face. For 6 bucks, it’s a steal.

The before and after are amazing. I can totally see myself using this on days that I don’t feel like getting all dolled up, but don’t want to look like I’m going on two weeks with no sleep.

    • the Muse

Hi Rose! That’s brilliant news ;-D so happy it’s working for you!

  • Frankie.N

I think I would be afraid because it looks like a very small amount of concealer? Ive never used one of those de-puff eye roller/eye brightening gel thingeymabobs. I probably should though, my bags are pretty bag :p

  • Nessa

    HI Muse!
I picked this up in Medium the other day and I LOOOVE IT!! Thanks so much for the review!

  • Jennifer

I actually almost bought this today but the nub of concealor turned me off as well. I’ll be getting it in the next few days though. I did grab 4 of their new HUGE glitter glosses. Could not resist. Plus all 4 were the price of 1 from the wonder woman collection they really remind me a lot of my Mac dazzleglasses.
