Kate Walsh Boyfriend Eau de Parfum

I gotta admit when I first heard that Kate Walsh had an upcoming perfume I was kinda skeptical. Granted, I’m always a little wary when it comes to celeb fragrances but Kate Walsh? It seemed such an odd celeb to have an upcoming fragrance! I admit I never got into Private Practice and yes I feel guilty about that since I loved her character development on Grey’s!

When I think celeb scents I think Gaga, Mariah Carey, etc….Kate Walsh was more a TV personality not a movie star and not a singer so it was kinda weird to see someone who for the most part was famous on TV with her own upcoming fragrance. Don’t you feel the same? I’m having a brain fart kinda moment today because I honestly can’t recall a single TV personality who has their own perfume.

I missed the boat when Kate’s new fragrance, Boyfriend, released on HSN earlier this year because indeed I was judging the scent as a bad celebrity fragrance and was thinking it was even worst since it was a TV celebrity.

Jump!

After reading, hearing, seeing, and watching the endless videos featuring Kate Walsh Boyfriend I was finally convinced I NEEDED this perfume. The raving over the scent just speaks to me on so many levels plus hearing Kate describe the scent really had me excited.

Kate describers this as that scent that clings to your clothes, sheets, and hair whenever your boyfriend holds you close. Basically that warm scent of a man!

Although I happen to love a sweet, fruity scent I also absolutely ADORE more masculine blends as well which is why Boyfriend started to speak to me.

Kate’s scent is that of a man’s cologne mixed with a perfume and for some reason that completely took hold of my imagination and sounded very me!

A blend of vanilla, jasmine blossoms, and an accord of amber are combined with the sensual scents of a man including a light musk and a shimmer of fresh woods.

Needless to say the raving reviews that Boyfriend has recieved had me instantly purchasing my own bottle. I haven’t yet received it but I’m awaiting its arrival by holding my breath and turning blue.

Until that time some of the videos for the fragrance are pretty fab! Take a look!

For the Chuck fans out there, why yes, that is Awesome in this commercial! Ha!

And my personal favorite featuring Pablo….

I don’t live anywhere NEAR a Sephora store, have to shop online…I SO wish I could get a sample before I shell out big bucks for this, because I am likewise intrigued!

This scent sounds right up my alley. I’ve never even heard of it! I must make a Sephora trip soon…:)

    • the Muse

cait they have such a launch for it surprised you haven’t come across it on youtube!

Ironically, when I was at Sephora the other day, one of the Sephora workers told me I should “smell her” because she was wearing the new Kate Walsh. She proceeded to tell me that “it’s suppose to smell like a guy. You know, when you wake up in the morning after sleeping with a guy and you can’t stop smelling the bed sheets.” I wasn’t exactly sure how to take that description, but I smelled anyway and it smells quite nice. I don’t know if I would instantly think “masculine” but after her description, that’s all I had in my head…lol! Hope you enjoy it, Muse! 🙂

brooke more deets more deets -;-D LOL I agree that doesn’t sound particularly flattering…but is it fresher or darker? any thoughts on notes? So curious 😀

Couldn’t really put my finger on it. When I first applied it, I didn’t really like it because I felt like it was too much. But after it sat for a bit, it grew on me. The best I can describe would be a musky flower mixed with a vanillaish fragrance. lol. I found it to be more on the fresh side than dark, however, it’s not your typical citrusy, flowery freshness. It’s just more light. It’s difficult to compare to something else because I can’t say it’s something I’ve ever smelled before.
Usually I have trouble with a lot of fragrances being too strong or smelling weird on me ( a lot of things smell wonderful on others but smell like crap on me). But this perfume was nice and light. Sorry, don’t know if that’s much help, but I think you will enjoy it!

This has made me want to go to Sephora this evening to check this out! Thank you! =)

Have you heard of Jennifer Aniston’s new scent? It sounds pretty nice too…I’m not sure when and where it’s available.

I ADORE some men’s fragrances (Burberry for Men and BPAL’s Robin Goodfellow in particular) so I am very intrigued by this, because I do actually wear Burberry Men and Robin Goodfellow but wish they were a touch more floral. The funny thing is, even though I am a lady, dude perfume wears a lot better on me.

  • JoElla

This sounds promising. I am becoming oh so over the fruity/floraly stuff out there. Hopefully Sephora will include this with the free samples soon, that might encourage me to make an unneeded purchase LOL!

Now, on to Addie’s character.. I have been watching old reruns of Grey’s on the weekend, and it is a shame what Private Practice has done to her.

    • the Muse

Jo I agree, I really don’t love her on PP but she was SO awesome on Grey’s :D!

  • Karolyn

I read the description on Sephora and it sounded like something I would love, so I had to have it! If you are a fan of orientals, this one is a keeper. To answer your question Muse, I would say it is darker. It dries down to a soft, sweet scent of vanilla and amber with a hint of musk. I hope you enjoy it too!

    • the Muse

karolyn absolutely adored it. got a bit of stinky hippie at first but stuck it out and fell in love ;D!

  • Karolyn

I’m glad you liked it! I purchased the oil and the scent is good to go from the start. But I have read a few other reviews from people with the spray that also weren’t crazy about it until in chilled some. Interesting… On another note, do you plan to review the other new celeb fragrance…Jennifer Aniston? I received mine yesterday and the jury is still out.

    • the Muse

hi Karolyn! It def didn’t get me at the start, no way no how. but as it dried down, LOVE! I hadn’t planned on it to be honest but I will def sniff when it arrives at Sephora. I really wasn’t inclined to order it. Sweet? fruity? or just floral? Honestly, it seemed somehow boring to me 😛

      • Karolyn

I loved the idea of a “beachy” frangrance, so I ordered it from Sephora…due to their awesome return policy. The top notes are wonderful, fresh, light and reminiscent of the beach, like Jen states. The dry down however is just plain sweet…flowery sweet. As I sit here sniffing I’m becoming more convinced it isn’t my thing either.

        • the Muse

mmmy karolyn no offense sounds boring as hell :-/ if you want beachy get Bobbi Brown’s beach scent that’s really gorgeous and sticks to that beachy vibe all day long!
