Laura Mercier Laura’s Secrets Flawless Brightened Eyes Volume 2 Review, Swatches, Photos

I absolutely love when Laura Mercier puts together some of her fabulous little kits. I remember one of the first ones I had purchased was the Flawless Face Set and it was truly love at first try.

One of my main reasons I love these sets is the volume of products versus the tiny price tag. Laura Mercier Cosmetics aren’t particularly cheap, that’s a fact, so when these sets pop up I’m ever so happy to indulge and grab myself a nice little deal.

Here’s my story of the new Laura’s Secrets Flawless Brightened Eyes Set.

A set featuring several of Laura’s favorite products for concealing and brightening your eye area up!

The set includes full size products of Laura Mercier Secret Concealer (Shade 2), Laura Mercier Secret Brightener (Shade 1), and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder.

Mini size price include Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat (medium Beige) and Eyebright (pale baby blue).

Plus you get a full size double ended secret concealer and powder brush and a rather awesome cosmetic bag. Just a brief break down of the bag…I love the bag and think it adds value to the overall set. It’s roomy and has a nice side pocket for storing brushes or smaller cosmetics. It’s completely functional yet still manages to have a certain elegance.

The total set is $75 which I think is a great deal.

Laura includes an instruction card to brighten your eyes, conceal dark circles, and to prime lids for color. So the kit really has several functions when products are used individually.

I already own the concealer from a past kit and really like it. It conceals well with a moisturizing, highly emollient formula that easily blends and erases darkness and signs of fatigue as well as fine lines. I wouldn’t have picked this shade for myself, I would have probably gone lighter but turns out it works well at easing darkness due to the orange-y beige of the shade.

I started out life really hating Laura’s brightening powder but in recent years have grown to love it. This sets concealer beautifully well without creasing or caking when eyes are properly moisturized plus it brightens the area up considerably giving a more flawless finish.

The Eye Basics remind me of Trish McEvoy’s Eye Base Essentials but have a creamier finish so if you felt like Trish’s version was a little too matte and drying, you should fall right in with Laura’s. She included a blue to be mixed with the wheat shade as this really brightens the eye area up and preps it for color or simply as a nude look sans shadow. Mind you this isn’t Benefit Lemonaid but the effect is lovely none the less.

The product I didn’t like was the Laura Mercier Secret Brightener. This is merely a shimmery highlighter which really shouldn’t go any where under your eyes in my humblest. It’s most suited to highlighter areas around your eyes or face. I personally FAIL at the application of highlighter so I probably won’t make proper use of this product.

Ideally I’d love if they left this out and knocked off $10 bucks from the price tag! That would be awesome in my humblest!

  • Those seeking an all in wonder kit for prepping eyes and easing dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and other under eye woes.
  • Those seeking a kit to address various eye issues.
  • Those who suffer from dark circles (the concealer is a fabulous pick for easing darkness and brightening up the eye area).

  • Those who fall into the realms of extra dark skin or extra fair (this fits medium, medium fair, and olive complexions but anyone darker or paler may find it’s not a suitable shade selection).

Overall, this is a fabulous little pick for addressing all issues with your eyes. Laura excels at great kits like this and I always find them a most excellent bargain particularly because nearly half of the products included are full size. If you’re needing something to address only your eye problems, this kit will work double time at solving your woe.

Fabulous little set.

Available now at Sephora.

Before I became a Mac addict I was a big follower of Laura Mercier 🙂 My whole Face routine was with LM products. Primer, Concealer, 3 different kinds of Foundations, Powder, and 3 different Blushes lol all LM ;D

Yep lmao I always kept the powder foundation in my bag for like touch ups or when I stayed somewhere overnight or when I went swimming or something lol, and then I had the Tinted Moisturizer and Creme Smooth foundation which I alternated depending on what coverage/feel I wanted that day lol ;D

ha cj I’ve never been a super LM base girl tbh! I’ve always been bobbi’s fan girl but I like LM’s TM and Concealer so dunno why I never indulged more ;D! I have her creme smooth on the back burner for months, we actually discussed it in the past, but never used EEP!

          • Cj

Omg lol try it! You only have to use a tiny bit and it blends out really nicely 🙂 I really liked it, heck I still like it, I’m just more into Mac nowadays lol.

ugh my skin is being naughty cj ;-D I might need to use it, I’m so dry and cream looks the best at the mom 😀

Yikes… Whenever I’ve used a highlighter near my eyes it makes the lines look sooooo much worse… Even if your 20 and smooth skinned it’s going to play up your lines. Highlighters are not my friend!

    hey, muse!!

i also have a LM set and there’s a double-ended all over eye colour and mudge brush that came with t. i learned that these brushes are made of real hair, as is almost all LM brushes. i’ve never had real hair brushes before.
anw, they got dirty and i washed the all over eye colour end with zwitsal baby shampoo. but it became a bit strayed and not as smooth after it dried. 🙁 i wonder if there’s any other brush cleaning method more suitable for real hair brushes. i hope you can help me there.

    thanks, muse!!

hi stie this set came with a double ended eye colour brush? really? I didn’t get that how strange, just got the double ended concealer brush. Perhaps try using a brush cleaner. I like mac’s version 🙂

      • stie

        thanks, muse.

stie I was like whoa how come I didn’t get that brush ;-D I’d def invest in a good brush cleaner, I really <3 MAC's but you can find any number of great ones ;-D aw thanks hun!

Never tried much of anything from Laura Mercier but I do regret not springing for the color wardrobe 09. I liked all the eye, cheek AND lip colors. That never happens. Not like I need more of all that stuff but it would have been so convenient to have in one place. The kit looks nice but the only thing I’m really drooling for is that blue primer. I wish they would do that as a Sephora pt perk or something, I don’t want a full size but I’d love the mini, my eyes can always enjoy a bit of brightening.

    • the Muse

hey rose maybe gilt will get it ;-D they are legendary for having LM hauls!

can you post the instructions that came with the kit? i have most of these products and would love some tips on using them better. thanks
