MAC Wonder Woman Lipglasses Review, Swatches, Photos

Morning!

Hope you’re enjoying the MAC Wonder Woman coverage. I have more upcoming for you today but a few side notes. First off, I’m really behind on comments, e-mail, and posts. I apologize for the lack of replies in some comments, I read every one but just haven’t had a sec to answer all of them! Sorry about that! I did want to thank those of you who stepped up for me to reply to questions in comments that I may not have replied to, you rock!

Also a few comments have been ending up in my spam box and unintentionally deleted so if you haven’t seen a comment posted and its been a while since you posted it please let me know as it could have been eaten up by spam!

I think that’s about the extent of updates around here!

Now for more Wonder Woman!

Shall we take a peek at MAC Wonder Woman Lipglasses?

Jump!

The lipglasses are “wonder” size as in a whooping 0.37 oz in size versus the original lipglass which is .17 oz. The size is absurd and I absolutely adore it for a number of reasons.

Not only are you getting a value here as these are a mere $6 more for the bigger size ($20 versus $14.50 for the original) but you’re also looking at the huge applicator brush which I’ve fallen in love with.

The sponge applicator is pretty damn nice in my humblest as it applies lipglass so dreamy-like. It’s really a new and exciting way to apply MAC Lipgloss. The applicator fits the entire contour of my lip area easily and applies a nice layer of gloss. Some might find it cumbersome, I personally find it brilliant. If you’re a fan of MAC Lipglass and always felt like you had to sit around and build up product you’ll be delighted at this larger applicator as it saturates well with product and a single swipe will cover your lips!

The size of the tubes are about three times the size of a regular lipglass. It’s funny seeing the two sizes side by side as the “wonder” one looks so incredibly large next to the more traditional lipglass.

Shades pretty much match up with the lipstick colors exactly so if you’re wanting to layer lipstick with lipgloss in a similar shade, here’s your chance. I’m not keen on all the shades however two of the four seemed fab.

Wonder Woman is a bright shimmering red which applied well and with full coverage. It’ll work well on it’s own and will tame down Russian Red Lipstick which was also released with this collection.

Secret Identity is a fab shade of bronze-y copper. If you were loving the looks of Heroine Lipstick but weren’t quite sure you could pull it off you might want to settle for Secret Identity as it applies with a subtle touch of bronze shimmer that’s very flattering.

The other two shades aren’t as easy to wear in my opinion. Emancipation is a paler neutral pink-y peach beige and Athena’s Kiss is a blue fuchsia as you can see both match up with the lipstick shades in the collection rather perfectly.

No matter the shade you choose I think you’ll be quite happy with these. They feel special and rather unique to me and I’m kinda hopeful MAC might do more Wonder sized lipglasses in the future as I likey!

Definitely grab one or two, they are keepers.

Any shades on your list?

Oh no. I’ve really got to stop reading your Wonder Woman coverage. You’ve succesfully talked me into the Emacipation gloss and Mighty Aphrodite! I wasn’t going to buy anything from this collection!

The giant tubes do look funny next to the originals–I was thinking the same thing.

I only got “Wonder Woman” gloss from this collection. It was actually my last makeup purchase period before a looonggg no-buy.

Muse, help! I bought emancipation and can’t find a good way to wear it. It doesn’t really go with anything I have. Any suggestions?

hi brittany! have you tried a bit of lip stain under it that’s deeper than the color? I wear a reddish stain under it and top with the gloss, it pops this way!
