Mally Beauty Pro Tips & Tricks 8 Piece Color Collection Review, Swatches, Photos

I purchased the Mally Pro Tips & Tricks 8 Piece Color Collection about a month ago when it was an QVC Special Value. One of the reasons I got it was for the new Mally Beauty Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, this is an interesting product that should garner some attention if you have oily skin or larger pores to conceal.

Let’s check the set out!

The set includes 8 Full Size Mally Beauty Products:

  • Mally Beauty Evercolor Poreless Face Defender
  • Mally Beauty Extra Hold Brow Gel in Clear
  • Mally Beauty Blush in Pink Nectar
  • Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara in Black
  • Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner in Onyx
  • Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick in Twilight
  • Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Must-have Pink
  • Double-ended Blush Brush
  • Fabric travel pouch

Part of the appeal of the set would be not only the full sizes but the fact that most are newly launched products and some are new shades that you may not have been privy to if you own and have purchased alot of Mally’s cosmetics in the past. The set creates a flawless, beautifully natural look that isn’t overly done and is great for day wear or at the office. It’s very natural, very pretty, and very simple so you aren’t left wondering how best to create the look. All in all your brain surgery degree can be left at the door for application here and anyone can achieve a flawless, pretty look using the products!

The set comes housed in one of Mally’s signature pink makeup bags which is a nice little extra if you’d like to travel with all these products.

The star of the show is Mally’s new Evercolor Poreless Face Defender. I’m not going to get into a major review on this product because it deserves its own post. I’ll be reviewing this in more detail very soon but I will say it’s a great product!

Other stand out products are her new Evercolor Starlight Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil which is a rich, intense black that wears incredibly long. If you’ve been looking for that perfect eyeliner for your waterline that will wear all day, this could prove to be a great choice. I can get through a day with it in place sans touch up! Love this stuff!

Another star is the Volumizing Mascara which I’ve always wondered why QVC needed to sell it as a duo. Seriously, who needs two of the same mascara and who wants to buy two at the same time? But now I realize why! This is great mascara. Standard applicator here sans bells and whistles but a really great formula that builds easily without drying overly fast so you’re left with fatter, fuller, longer lashes. I can easily see myself repurchasing in the future! Excellent overall mascara.

The Beauty Blush in Pink Nectar is a really nice shade but I was puzzled why they did a cream and a powder in the same shade in the palette. However, I guess you can easily use the cream to start and top with the powder for more pop! The shade is a lovely, healthy pink that matches perfectly with the High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Must Have Pink. The formula on the gloss has a highly pigmented color pay off and offers intense shine with a thick formula that gives lips a fuller look!

She also includes a Shadow Stick in Twilight which is a universally flattering shade of taupe. At first glance I thought it was an odd color to include with the fresh, innocent shades of pink in the collection but it actually works out well with the pink and gives lids just the right amount of creamy color that’s easy to apply and easy to blend.

Clear brow gel is also included along with a double ended blush brush. I thought the blush brush was weird as it has a foundation brush on one end and a small blusher blush on the other. I didn’t really like the brush as I prefer a more fuller bristled brush for application of my blush and thought the foundation brush was just a weird throw in on the other side.

I think at the time I paid $56 during the Special Value but it’s now $66 which I still think is an excellent deal. Overall, the products all performed flawlessly and created the perfect Spring look on my face. If you’re more a minimalist with your makeup you’ll be sure to love these products as it created a very natural, flawless look sans application drama or no how.

I absolutely adored it and I’m quite happy with the purchase.

It deserves a Muse Approval for purchase!

I’ll be telling you more about the VERY interesting Face Defender shortly so stay tuned.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This set seems amazing! I wonder if you can get this in Canada…

Oh about the brush, I think the foundation brush side is meant to apply the cream blush and the regular blush brush side to apply the powder blush on top! I remember seeing a makeup artist do that in a video one time!

    • the Muse

yup Phoebe ;-D that’s def what it’s for but I thought it was overkill for the cream and the powder eep 🙂

I bought the same kit, and I like it alot. the brow gel worked well for me. when she was on QVC she said to put the cream in the blush on first then the powder.

the choices must be good, because our coloring is very different and yet they work on each of us. I got the AD and I am looking forward to the next colors.
ITA about the blush brush so I just used my own,

will check back for the face defender post.

hey isabella yup I seen her do that but it seemed so over done on me ;-D I didn’t get AD as I assumed it was the same colors……?!

  • Liz!

I’m loving that look, so pretty! It seems rare to me to see a set that works so well together (except the random foundation brush) good job Mally!

If you watch her on QVC she really explains everything that doesnt make sense upon first look at her makeup
