Brilliant!

River Song, wife? Tardis? Hater of fezes? CLICK! Ahhh the excitement. Neil Gaiman is the confirmed writer for an episode entitled “The Doctor’s Wife”!

I don’t miss DT at all at this point.

Coming to BBC America April 23rd.

Try to hold your squeals in, if you can.

Disclaimer: Long time readers know that makeup posts get occasionally interrupted during Who season with posts, reviews on episodes, and tweets but no worries, Musings of a Muse remains about the makeup!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. “…a SWAT team, twelve jammy dodgers, and a fez.” 😀

    • the Muse

LMAO Liann!!!!!!!!!!! don’t forget the bloody jammy dodgers ;-D most important ;-D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fezes are cool, I wear one while I write beauty posts!

  • Crystal

Defend the better then DT statement! I have seen maybe a handful of the show with matt smith but he just seems to try so hard and had too many davidisms…..does he come into his own or do you get used to it?

    • the Muse

crystal when I first seen previews of Matt I was oh so worried. It felt alot like David, too much to be comfortable with. I was aghast that a regeneration of a Doctor was such like his generation before it really upset me. If you’re a long time watcher you know each one is unique and special with their own personalities and quirks and sadly Matt was turning into David a little too quickly for me. But yes, he comes into his own brilliantly. He’s very different from David. The mannerisms are sometimes the same but Matt adds this OCD behavior to it and starts flying off the screen willy nilly that you just sit their with your mouth open and wonder what in the world he’ll do next. You honestly forget all about David’s personality and start embracing the insanity of Matt’s. It’s pretty brill imho. ;-D I explained some of it in the review I did of the first episode with MS.https://www.musingsofamuse.com/2010/04/pieces-of-life-doctor-who-the-eleventh-hour-review-and-a-muses-thoughts-on-time-travelin-with-matt-smith.html

Although keep in mind I wrote that review not yet understanding or even really liking him yet.

    OMG, I must watch this.

I haven’t been watching any of the 11th Doctor’s episodes, partly because Tennant won me over big time & partly because I don’t have cable, so I usually wait for them online (free or on Netflix). However, since Neil Gaiman wrote this, I guess I can will myself to watch. 😉

    • the Muse

the addition of Neil Gaiman literally has me squealing like a school girl auro ;-D It’s going to be BRILLIANT!

  • Vanessa

I actually watched a few episodes (when I couldn’t find anything else to watch) because of your posts.

  • sureyya

wooooo!!! it looks amazing as usual! And is that lily cole? 😀 i love your DW posts!! x

  • Krys

Oh my. I’ve seen this trailer and Matt Smith looking like a hobo has me drooling! The guy looks seriously hot, even (or more so?) when unkempt.

I have to disagree with Crystal. I thought myself the biggest DT fan ever ever ever, but nearing the end of his run, Ten was getting really boring. The drama, the emotional baggage — I got sick of it. So much that even with all my love for Ten, by the time he left I was actually excited for Matt Smith.

As for Matt Smith, I believe Eleven has really brought something new on-board. He’s so old-ish, even when he’s the youngest doctor ever! He’s got this grandfather vibe going, and it’s seriously an odd but very interesting combination. DT has the Casanova (well, that was a crossover, maybe) vibe, but Matt Smith really has “DOCTOR” written all over him.

And now I’ve gone on and rambled, dear God. I honestly love Matt Smith. And River! I believe she might not be his wife, since this could contain some kind of “le twist!” in the plot. Neil Gaiman on board is always good news, though!

    • the Muse

hahah krys. I think more of a boy when I see MS ;-D he looks so young ;-D but the beard does something for him! mmm ten was emo for a while not his fault, was the writing. MS still has a certain darkness and emo-ness occasionally, he gets moody, but thankfully he’s more carefree where as Ten was starting to fall into a deep, dark hole.

agreed 100% I actually discussed that in a post a while ago. He face is youthful but he’s all about the maturity ;-D I didn’t think so at first but truly Matt does so make a Doctor ;-D

I think River is the Tardis ;-D that’s my theory ;-D!

and hells yes to Neil!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WILL BE GOOD!

  • Cj

Ahh! I can’t wait!! I already got my DVR set to record rofl. Sooo excited ;D I actually really like Matt Smith now, at first I was like NOoooo!!! But I warmed up to him 😛 One thing tho… That beard better be a one episode only kinda thing, I don’t quite think I can get used to that lol

    • the Muse

oh way one episode it would be hysterical if it was toting around the planet with a beard lmao! ;-D I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • the Muse

ha me too Jolene ;D I’ve been watching since I was a wee babe ;D!

  • Sara

Wow, that actually looks really good! I’m an off and on Dr. Who fan. I watched something way back in the day (so long ago I fear I can’t recall what it was about or who was the Dr. then), the Eggelston season and most of the Tennant episodes (*drooooool* that man is distractingly beautiful. And maybe a little crazy to boot. Did you see him on Top Gear?), but I’ve only seen one with the new Dr. It was…ok. That trailer made the show look refreshing (frankly I’m quite sick of the Daleks and how even new episodes have an old “been there, done that” feeling…it’s probably comforting to long time fans, but I get the itch for something new) and now I’ll have to check it out.

Downside? Apparently when we downgraded our cable a few months ago we lost the BBC! Ahhh! Guess I’ll be netflixing this one in a bajillionty years, just like the newest season of Being Human (btw, I’ve changed my opinion somewhat on the American version, it’s not so bad this far in). *sigh*

    • the Muse

I liked Chris as the Doctor Sara but perhaps I was just happy to see him back after such a long absence ;-D Yes, Top Gear and a hundred other shows ;-D hehe. Him and Barrowman are telly whores if ever I did see ’em! I like something new but I never tire of the Daleks ;-D I’m old school I guess ;-D You can always catch it on youtube ;-D!

I’m kinda changing my idea of Being Human US, not too bad, was following a little too closely on the heals of BBC but they switched it up a little. BBC version is getting ALL kinda weird lately, making Mitchell into some sort of serial killer ;D!
