Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream Review

Mourning the lost of Benefit Eyecon? I wish I could comfort you but I never actually tried it so I’m not really sure what I’m missing.

No worries, I hear Benefit B.Right It’s Potent! Eye Cream is the perfect replacement!

Check it!

Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness plus a blend of hydrating botanical extracts including apple extract, known to help boost collagen, & loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.

Fade dark circles? I can hope. Lord knows I’ve tried many lotions and potions and none have faded the darkness under my eyes. How about you?

I haven’t used It’s Potent! Eye Cream long enough to say whether or not it’ll fade my dark circles but I’m a hoping and a wishing. I will tell you a bit my adventure with it so are.

This little guys comes in a cute glass jar with a faux cork screw top. Cute packaging, check! Some of Benefit’s other new B.Right Skincare offerings also come in glass bottles but I feel a little more secure with a tiny eye cream that comes in such a packaging. Dunno why, maybe it’s the size but I feel alot less clumsy around it and not fearful I’ll break this one plus it sits every so handsomely on my vanity awaiting my use.

The formula is a thicker, richer cream. Such a texture had me worried that it wouldn’t absorb easily but no worries it feels rich and looks thick but it blends easily into my skin with a pat or two of my ring finger. Actually, it seems quite a heavyweight but the formula feels very lightweight under my eyes and turns very buttery and melt-y under my eyes so it absorbs quite easily and leaves behind a nice hydrating feel. Unlike the other B.Right products it doesn’t have a fragrance which is a plus.

I used it in the AM and I used it in the PM for almost..three weeks now? And I have to say my eyes definitely need more moisture. I’m a getting old. As a morning eye cream it’s a good deal as it absorbs easily and creates a smooth, moisturized finish for my concealer but as a night treatment, I def need a bit more moisture. And dare I say even in the day, as it progresses, my eyes start to look a tad on the dry side so it’s not sealing in moisture too well for me but age is a factor here.

  • Younger eyes (early twenties and well into your late twenties).
  • Those looking for lightweight daily eye cream for day use.
  • Those looking for just the right amount hydration in a lighter formula that doesn’t make eyes look hooded (some eye creams prove TOO rich but this is a nice formula that runs very light and gentle).

  • Aging eyes (you might need a bit more boost than what It’s Potent! can provide).
  • PM Eye Cream users (stick to using it daily but not nightly as you may require more moisture in the evening).
  • Really dry eyes (like mine! You’ll need something more powerful).

Overall, It’s Potent! is a nice eye cream for those in their twenties who aren’t really yet experiencing the effects of old age. It’ll maintain your eye area, keep it fresh, hydrated, and probably delay the effects of aging with constant use. However, those who already have aging eyes, or dryness, or fine lines, etc…well, It’s Potent! might be too much of a lightweight or at least I think so as my eyes have all these issues including puffiness.

In the long run I can’t say what it did for my aging eyes as I haven’t used it long enough nor can I say it’s busy fading my dark circles but it makes a decent eye cream for AM use however I need to pull out the big guns for night use.

Anyone try it?

I’ve been using it for almost 2 weeks now and it does a good job moisturizing under my eyes. As for fading dark circles…well, I look a teeny bit more awake, but I think I need to see how it works in longer usage. So far though, I like it a lot as an eye cream for under-eye moisturizing as it doesn’t feel heavy to me and it’s made under my eyes smoother. 🙂

Hey Muse, I got my first kit yesterday, the one with the polish, cream, and emulsion. I used them inplace of my regular stuff last night and this morning. The polish is really nice, I have no problems with it, but the emulsion and cream areant for me. I used the emulsion as a day moisturizer and the cream as a night one. The emulsion was too light and the cream was too thick lol

    • the Muse

I haven’t yet tried the cream cj but I think the emulsion will do the trick for me in the Summer but def not in colder weather, my face needs more moisture for shiz ;D!

I love the packaging on this line! It makes me want to get a gorgeous Victorian mirrored vanity tray to display it on.
I had a weird relationship with Eyecon. I wanted so badly to like it but no matter what I did, or paired it with, it just never did the things it promised me to do (Same thing with That Girl but that’s another topic). It didn’t hydrate my dry eyes, do anything for my dark circles. I was really let down!
I’ve been wanting to try this because one of it’s ingredients is sodium hyaluronate which is incredible, it holds it’s weight in water and more which moisturizes amazingly. I wonder what the content of it is?
Sadly, I’ll probably pass on this because I’m having a lot of success with Dior products. Wow I’m talkative. Sorry Muse!

    • the Muse

true that Jessica ;-D!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding have you read my that girl review? Snicker! ;-D I love me some Benefit but That girl never did the trick for me either ;-D that’s interesting b/c I didn’t feel like it was sealing in moisture but than again I’m a tad old ;-D ha no worries I love chatting with you!

      • Jessica

I’m 31 and naturally dry so it takes a lot for me. I wrote them to find out their content of sodium hyalronate and they couldn’t specify an amount so I’m guessing they aren’t as generous with it in their products as Kiehl’s is.
I love chatting with you too!

        • the Muse

<3! I normally try to look for hyaluronic acid in my skin care lately, seems to really seal in moisture ;-D!

          • Jessica

Have you tried Dior’s One Essential Serum? It’s eliminated my need for heavier eye creams.

          • the Muse

no Jessica, really? Interesting! ;-D maybe I needs some. Currently testing Diorsnow stuffins but maybe the serum will be next ;D

  • Nunuiviet

I like reviews about eye creams still looking for an HG, you too I suppose muse!

  • Janice

I have dry eyes too! I’m always on the search for the perfect eye cream to combat that problem. What do you recommend? What is your favorite?

  • Janice

Thanks! I’m going to buy that eye cream right away! I love that it is reasonably priced! I’ve been using Clinique’s All About Eyes, which I like, but I still think I could use more moisture, especially at night. Thanks again for the tip!

    • the Muse

hi janice! this is way more moisture than All About the Eyes ;-D I think you’ll be pleased!

  • Jessica

Yes! I’m having great results with the serum, get a sample they’re pretty generous. I’ve been using it for about six months now and my dry skin has never looked better. I love some of the Diorsnow products! If only they’d make fun cosmetics again.

    • the Muse

sigh yes please on the fun ;-D I hauled out my vacation palette a few days ago and decided to use a bit of it ;D!

      • Jessica

        The vacation palette! Love!
I made a typo lol I meant to say the samples of the serum are generous enough to last a few weeks/ long enough to let you see if you get results from it. It’s not one of those one or two uses things.

  • Soo

nothing I’ve tried has /ever/ faded dark circles for me! I’ve only been trying out the sample size for the past few days. it just feels nice, and that’s about it. I just tend to blame my skin for being super thin (you can see a huge blue vein going down the side of my face if my hair is up -.- sigh.)

    • the Muse

same here soo, I’ve tried high end and low but never had anything erase dark circles!
