I have VERY dry skin, so I’m always on the lookout for a hydrating foundation. I’ll definitely have to sample this. Any other recommendations?

    • the Muse

that’s about all I can pull from my muddled brain today katie ;-D but I have a HUGE archive of foundations I like ;-D under “foundation archives” left hand side panel! Hope this helps! 🙂

I tried this at the counter on Saturday and am on the fence. First – the sunscreens are chemical, and I’m surprised it’s got avobenzone which was rated one of the worst sunscreens out there in an article last year, *especially* in combination with retinyl palmitate (vit. a)..can’t remember if the foundation has rp, though.

Second – it has silicones. Two if I recall correctly, but they at least are *very* far down the list after the rose oil and carrot…so those of us sensitive to silicone might be ok as long as you thoroughly remove it at night (via clarisonic or gentle exfoliation and take breaks between wear).

Third – the alabaster is still too dark and bronzey/orange on my skin. A friend commented they couldn’t see the difference between my chin and neck, but I most definitely could. As my summer sunscreen has loads of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide (physical sunblock), that difference will become even more noticeable.

Fourth – kind of a pain in the butt in that I would still have to wear a physical sunblock under the foundation, thus making it irrelevant to even have. I want a foundation for special occasions, but I want one without silicones, physical spf, and in a color match. Doesn’t sound so demanding, right? Haven’t found one in cream form and my poor skin needs the moisture.

I will say though, the foundation is really creamy so for those gals with crazy dry skin (like me) it’ll be a dream if you find a match and don’t mind purely chemical sunscreen (which aren’t as effective and according to some research, even detrimental) ingredients.

    whew that was long!
