BRTC Perfect Calming Cream Review

About a year ago I had gotten a few small samples of BRTC Perfect Calming Cream after having a friend haul me a few of their BB Creams in Korea. I instantly fell in love with the cream so I recently indulged in the larger size as I went through all the tiny samples she had sent along with my order.

Here’s my review of this heavenly cream!

A nutritive cream that replenishes moisture to sensitive skin. Supplies moisture to damaged, tired skin while easing redness.

Now the cream does cater to sensitive skin which I do not have however it turned into an instant hit for me as a primer of sorts. I was using my regular moisturizer and following up with this when I was ready to apply makeup. It absorbs easily and created a softer cushion on my face that allowed my foundation to ease on brilliantly well.

Soon after I started using it as a daily moisturizer because it absorbs so easily and left behind a brilliant finish for makeup. It disappears upon contact with the skin but hydrates beautifully without feeling greasy or oily. This proves surprising to me as the cream is extra thick. It’s like nothing I’ve seen before as the formula appears thick but touching it, well, it feels like a cushion and it bounces slightly like pudding when you press on it. It’s not quite a cream but proves to be a dense, pudding like substance that’s a cross between a gel and a cream base. It’s a very interesting texture that proves a pleasure to work with.

It became a smashing success with me as my dry skin took to it easily and it eased flaky areas easily without feeling too rich and heavy for my face.

I had about, mmm, 10 or so smaller pots of it and I ran through them slowly since a little goes a long way. Recently, I decided to indulge in a larger size and was a tad disappointed. Although the formula remains the same with the large size for some odd reason or another it sports a toilet paper-like scent (think Charmin). Some Korean products are known for this scent, so if you’ve used Korean Skincare before you can easily understand the scent I’m talking about, it’s been compared to feminine hygiene care haha! I admit I like my skincare scented but this is just overkill for me and it’s really killing the joy I originally found in the product.

I thought it was interesting that it’s toted for sensitive skin but the scent is so powerful that it could irritate such a skin type further. If you’re sensitive to smell you might not love this!

This is available within Korea so online shopping, airmail fees, and jacked up prices come with the territory if you’re wanting to check it out for yourself.

  • Anyone wanting a lightweight moisturizer that’s hydrating without being too heavy or greasy.
  • Anyone who wants a moisturizer that absorbs easily offering lasting hydration!

  • Anyone sensitive to scented skincare.
  • Those unwilling to shop online, deal with airmail, etc…(this is a Korean product available in Korea).

I still love it but I gotta admit the scent is gag worthy. I’m wondering what happened between the time I tried out the samples and the time I purchased the full size? Did the formula change somewhere along the way?

Overall, it’s a fab little moisturizer and I truly think it’s worth a try. I think even sensitive types will probably really enjoy this one as it’s very soothing and lightweight but the fragrance could prove a deal breaker!

This sounds great Muse… except for the scent part! But I’m intrigued because I have pretty sensitive skin. What are the ingredients?

Oh Muse, how I envy your lack of sensitive skin & ability to try all of these cosmetics for us mere mortals!

Sadly, I do have very sensitive skin. 🙁

Thanks for the review of this one… Sounds like one I could not use due to the fragrance factor.
